I've only played once this whole patch, but it was for a couple of hours in cyro. TBH I didn't notice any significant difference in cloak's viability this patch or the previous patch.

There are still plenty of successful gankers out there too.

I wouldn't think this would affect gankers as much because they go straight for the kill and can somewhat be killed on a failed gank. It's the cloak spammers that would likely feel this change. The ones that try to make cloaking 3x or more part of the fight.

you don't run detection potions lol

These are fairly useless against a NB that understands how to combine burst heals, hots ,movement speed, roll dodges, offensive pressure, etc. Not all at once but just in variations.

I use detect potions from time to time but mostly they're effective against bad nbs that don't have a backup plan. I'm also usually not fighting just one opponent so I have to manage when to activate detection so that I have buffs as well. I also still lose prophecy just to do this so my damage goes down when I need it to be up for this small burst window that can easily be avoided by the enemy.

No, they are a requirement against nightblades. The ones you talk about barely use cloak, but when they do, it will help you avoid death. Gankers and brawlers are two different ways to play this class and detection pots are meta for a reason.
Making a game fun should be a priority. Making a game balanced should not come at the expense of fun.

I mean, this just makes anyNB that isn't a MagNB able to utilize their smaller Mag pool more effectively to tap on/tap off cloak to dodge some attacks/stop LoS or get a guaranteed crit. I'm all for it.

Update: I have played another night of this new patch.

I take back what I said about cloak being just as good this patch as before the toggle chances.
    Its actually better lol

So after doing this for a little bit, here are my thoughts from a Magblade perspective.

It's better in some ways and worse in others.

It's worse in that you basically have to jump through several hoops in order to use cloak AND run mag skills. Today I switched over to stam and will be testing how that feels, with my mag pool used only for heal and merc resolve. I'll see how that goes.

With magblade, I was running a sustain set backbar, and using siphoning/rally to keep filled before attacking. Having to blast two skills back to back to back to back to back in order to keep the necessary mag up to attack while moving in is flipping stupid but what are you gonna do.

I think the toggle, at face value, works perfectly fine. It still gets broken for no reason by guards but alas, that will probably never change.

If the cost was every 3 seconds I think it would be in a good sweet zone of punishing but not prohibitive. Right now, if you want to run mag skills, you have no choice but to cheese siphoning/rally. I'll never forgive them for making me switch to rally. I hate having to baby sit it.
I drink and I stream things.
