Cyrodiil Queue System: A Never-Ending Adventure?

I wanted to share my experience with the queue system for Cyrodiil and see if anyone else is facing similar issues. As we all know, getting into the PvP zone can be a bit of a challenge, especially during peak times. However, I've noticed a peculiar and frustrating pattern with the queue system.

After waiting patiently for my turn, there are times when the queue just seems to stop moving. It's as if the system has taken a break, leaving us stranded in line while the battle rages on without us. Just today, I waited for 50 minutes in the queue, only for it to bug at the end. The only solution I've found is to requeue, which unfortunately means starting the entire process over again from the back of the line.

This isn't just a minor inconvenience—it's a significant hindrance to enjoying the game as intended. Spending more time in a queue than in actual combat isn't what I signed up for, and I'm sure many of you feel the same way.

Oh I'm glad you posted this! I also had a similar problem. Multiple times. I have never seen it before this Midyear Mayhem and I wanted to post and see if it was a new issue or just new to me or what.

When you are in queue, the queue position slowly counts down to zero, as does the time. The queue position has always worked fine for me and we all know the time is pretty inaccurate.

What I have noticed now, though, is sometimes the queue position seems to get stuck, such that the estimated time keeps lowering but the queue position gets stuck. Eventually, I will realize that I have waited WAY longer than the estimated time, and try to leave queue because it appears to be broken. Then I get an error message that says something like "cannot leave queue because you aren't in queue" (may not be the exact wording) and then my status changes to "Leaving queue..." and never clears. I can't re-queue until I have re-logged.

It appears to me as if you are getting dropped from the queue but the UI doesn't show you this, which is a huge bummer because, as OP states, when you finally notice, you have to restart at the back of the line.

I have also experienced this in early morning, where I waited almost an hour at position, say, 8. Finally realized it was probably bugged. Relogged. And went from position 30 to 1 in about 10 min. So depending on time of day you can really see from the cadence how you were waiting but weren't actually queued.

I always participate in Midyear Mayhem and have never had this particular problem before. Curious if I have just been lucky or if this is a new problem. And if anyone has found a way to avoid it. :)
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Yeah, there's a queue bug. I posted about it months ago, no response from ZOS.

Well, they responded by closing the original thread describing the issue that I had bumped, forcing me to repost it.

In the past I have found that the group dungeon queue seemed to bug out when I fast traveled to another zone. With that one you could see that you were unqueued, though. I suppose it could happen for the Cyrodiil queue too.

It’s boring but I just stand in one location and slowly watch it count down while jiggling the joystick every five minutes or so to keep from getting logged out for inactivity.

I've found that waiting while swimming in water seems to keep your player active, most of the time anyway. Then you can walk away and do something else while waiting.

Interesting, I have never heard that.

sometimes my queue will break even if im just sitting still in a zone, the queue just pauses and doesn't move till I requeue

the main problem is so many people using scripts to stay logged in. you ever notice when you pushed to your scrolls but only have 10 people trying but your faction is pop locked? then u see 20-30 people at a keep or the gate that hold block once every 3 min or so?

This is definitely frustrating. Only during MYM am I completely unable to get into GH - it's pop-locked from day one. On weekends I might be able to get in, if I do various overland quests while waiting over an hour in the queue. Then I get in, and see exactly what you describe... :#

This is one of many reasons the unjustifiably low pop cap for Cyrodiil is such a problem.

It's queue pvp, ZOS vs you, about as engaging as what you might encounter had it not bugged. :)

I really wish they would bring back the old pvp group queue where everyone goes in together.

Agreed. The low pop cap has definitely made MYM more difficult to participate in.
