Interesting you should mention that because I often get booted from the server and then get the error message that I'm spamming too many messages, but I'm not even chatting. I'm just checking mail or using banks when it happens. This is an old issue, but it's popped up again with the recent patches and it's happening more and more.
People will say it's because add-ons are pinging the server too much, but this happens on console too.

ESO supposedly makes $15 million per month: https://tech4gamers.com/the-elder-scrolls-online-15-million-monthly/
Let that sink in. A video game that currently features
- Frequent, crippling lag spikes that make it impossible to do basic things in game
- Frequent disconnects that can ruin trials and PVP raids
- Audio cutting in and out in PVP areas
- Significant downtime for maintenance (compared to other games that can launch patches and complete maintenance with no downtime whatsoever)
… makes an alleged $15 million per month.
I, for one, decided yesterday when I crashed in Cyrodiil for the umpteenth time after yet another 999+ ping spike that I’m not spending another cent on this game until performance returns to its pre-May 2024 state. I’ve gotten used to playing ESO without ESO+, so it’s no big deal for me to keep my wallet folded until we see a fix — however long that may take.
1) If they make that much per month then I'm even more pissed off now.
2) This issue has been going on for me personally (and many many others for over 5 months)
3) How is this not red alert tier 1 all hands on deck get the network guys and gals some pizza wtf is happening right now?
4) Agreed, I can count at least 10 people my spouse and I know who are in the same boat and refuse to spend another $ on this game. We also cancelled our subs after 5+ years straight.
This game is a joke right now and the lack of OFFICIAL acknowledgment of this issue is absolutely ridiculously unacceptable for a company that is in 10 years and has made over $1B.
Bad look to bet getting puff pieces written about you. If only the articles talked about the "true" state of this game.
Hi all, sorry about the slow response. We've seen your comments and have been investigating what's happening here. After yesterday's maintenance, we made a change that we believe should have helped, but given some of the comments this morning, the situation still persists for some of you.

I really.... REALLY hope someone at the NA meet up with ZoS yesterday had the courage to bring up the performance issues and really drill into them and get some answers. All the key players that are responsible for the communication, or lack of IMO, are there.

One of my friends was there and did bring it up to Gina, had other players who were in the same conversation agree with him. Not sure if that'll translate to action but hopefully it helps.
Setting up a VPN seemed to be fixing the issue for now
Whole week same issues, insane lag, game catches up, I get teleported back as if I pressed Undo, tonight with VPN, game works flawlessly (almost)

Would really like to know more about this convo if you're willing to share.
