ZOS, Massive Spike in Ping/LAG in Recent Days - What Gives?

I can't stay logged in this morning for more than a few minutes, IF I manage to get in at all. I haven't submitted any tickets, I would be at it all day if I did. I've had error 307 and 201 at least 10 times each this morning. Giving up now.
Last night I was getting booted about every 10 mins after a few serious lags, so I shut down my PC, rebooted my router and was able to play without problems the rest of the night. Idk if that helps at all... this is incredibly frustrating :/
ETA: Also Error 103 and 334
    ETA: ticket # 240601-005185

From another thread about lag, etc:

Just to follow up, ZOS_RichLambert has confirmed that it’s a DDoS attack, and potentially other stuff: https://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/s/ZIXmghs8FV

What the other stuff is, who knows...

"Other stuff" could easily include hack attacks and/or ransomware. There are a number of companies/corporations which have been dealing with these things over the past month or so. For example, the Seattle Public Library, Ticketmaster, and various medical billing groups have reported these specific attacks within the past 2 weeks.

I didn't even need to go on Reddit, Facebook, X, Twitch, or Discord to learn of this. Having neutral news sources which just report the facts is a necessity.

    Facts matter. B)

It has only very rarely affected a majority of players. Though there have been threads like this the past 3 weeks or so, I've only been affected 3 or 4 days and the same goes for most of the players I play with. Yet others complain about issues every night more severe than I've experienced all but one day.

actually not true at all. It's affected a crap ton of players. Just look at peoples streams.

No, it's not yet fixed. Lag spikes do happen and still randomly, same way it's been.
I'm just grateful I didn't get booted from dungeons and battlegrounds today.
Hopefully the upcoming maintenance makes some changes for better, however, with the new chapter rolling out it might get even worse..

Yeah, something's gone wrong with almost every patch since the beginning of the year. With them adding all the new scribing skill variations and styling variations, plus more than doubling the amount of mails that have to be processed, it's not unreasonable to expect a big performance hit.

When an issue like this affects most players, the forums explode. I totally recognize many players have been affected. I'm not downplaying it. But I haven't seen the widespread complaints associated with something that affects most players. There would be multiple 100 page threads if everyone was constantly rubberbanding all month.

What I find strange... remember about 3 weeks ago when you couldn't stay online in Cyro for more than 15-20 minutes? There were 3 people in the group I was in that were experiencing ZERO issues. We were running to a keep, and most of the group was like "oh crap! I think we're DCing!" and those 3 people were running around and into the keep unopposed, with most of the opposing faction also clearly in the process of DCing as well.

That also seems consistent with the lag issues. This past week in my small-man group, there were 2 or 3 of us that were experiencing the lag issues all exactly at the same time, while the other folks in the group were having zero issues.

Anecdotally, it feels far to similar to not be related.

Most people are not going to complain unless its hard down. We were getting mass disconnects and mass lag, its quite a bit different than 'normal lag in PVP' or what have you

Probably because most of the people there were kicked off the game.

Just got booted from a good three way battle at Arrius while running a meatbag. And of course, ZOS won't let us log right back in, so we get put on some cooldown with no explanation, and when we finally get back in, of course we get sent to the back of the GH queue.

If Cyro wasn't so much fun, it would be easy to just avoid it all together. I guess that's how some players deal with it. But it's a shame it has to be this way. There's so much potential here that's not being realized. And it's gotten progressively worse over the years, not better.

Little tip here... when you get booted don't try to log right back in. I think you have around 4-5 minutes to get back in before you get kicked from cyro. When you get disconnected wait about a minute and then try to log back in. That will keep you from getting the 203 or whatever error it is and put you back in cyro. If you play in a group just have someone tell you when you're offline and then count to 10 and try logging in.

An addendum to @Photosniper89 's tip, if you're in a group, just ask them to let you know when you're offline. I've found you can normally log right back in once your friends let you know you're OFFICIALLY offline. Generally takes about a minute, as Photosniper found!

Yup, I know we want to get back into the fight as quick as possible but back er down and be patient when logging in the first time - you'll thank yourself later lol.

I must admit, I had similar issues but I thought my low performance was simply due to the fact my gaming laptop broke and I had to switch to a different one without dGPU (honestly, I was happy I got it playable and not too ugly on that one). Stumbled upon this topic earlier today by coincidence while waiting for the servers to go back up. But after today's patch suddenly performance went way up, even after putting graphic settings higher I had no issues at all anymore. Even moments full of spells and effects or full of other players went well. So I guess it wasn't just the different specs.

They must have done something today.

Still had lag spikes today in an upopulated area, all alone waiting for the boss in Northern Elsweyr to appear for a daily. A random lag spike with 999+ that came and went unexpectedly.

I guess server hiccups hasn't been fixed, and with new chapter on it was to be expected.

I think @ZOS_Kevin said the team was still working on determining what the root cause is so they haven't implemented anything yet.

Yeah, we’re still working on this. Focus is on launch and immediate fixes today and over the next few days, but we have folks investigating this issue as well. We’ve been passing along tickets, theories and anecdotes to assist in this effort.

There were a couple of spikes early this morning.

Didn't play enough to notice exactly how good or bad it was.

Was mostly solo play while unlocking scribing.
