You do not need access to the original crafting stations - you can use them in other players' homes. Guilds often offer this in their guild houses so people who don't have access to the required DLC or to closed off stations in Cyrodiil can still craft those sets.

The traits don't have a workaround, though. They'll have to be researched.

Thank you. Also, while I appreciate the event, and the creativity around it. As a working professional and adult... it would have been nice to have some advance notice that this was going to happen.

Totally understand that sentiment and will pass that along. The event was intended to be a surprise for players, but understand the want for an advance notice.

Can you help us understand the decision making process here? This comes up nearly every event. Like if you're truly passing along the sentiment that advanced notice is darn near required - why are we still not consistently seeing it?

For people who have the means to datamine the game's data, the details for the event were available months in advance, and this week's suspiciously-themed weekly endeavors were a clear indicator that it was going to happen this week. So the surprise wasn't quite there. ;)

it took people less than 2 minutes to find that exploit
When I saw the reduced recon cost in the datamined details, the very first thing that I thought was, "that sounds like an exploit", and it was going to be the first thing that I was going to check when the event went live.

To be honest, I was surprised that the exploit worked. Because it was so obvious that I thought, "they couldn't have possibly overlooked this". I really was expecting something like a cost floor, so that the halved costs could never fall below 25.

While true zos has done odd rewards on endeavors before without any coinciding event. Otherwise we should have had several gold boosting and exp boosting events.

Also data mining does not guarantee release nor confer timing.

Not all of us are able to data mine and since speculation on the forums is restricted.... a lot of us have to rely on official channels.

At least 24 hours please. That should be enough prior notice for surprise events and still be a surprise. Just my feedback.

Yeah ZoS going radio silent on this event after it was mentioned in the crown store showcase was a mistake.
They only mentioned the MYM event so many of us figured the crafters was cancelled.

They don't want us saving up stuff for the event though, cause some players like myself would do thousands of master writs during it.
Unfortunately I did most of my writs the last few weeks, netting about 40k vouchers.

If I had known about this event I could have gotten 80k, enough for another set of grand master stations.

This is the first time we were doing the event and was supposed to be a surprise event, which is why we waited to say anything. Also this benefits of the event will only apply to new writs generated during the event. So there would been no benefit to the stockpiling your writs.

Surprise events work better when you don't tell everyone it's coming in an email a couple of weeks before :D

That's true. There are things in there that have yet to see the light of day and may never see the light of day, so just by itself, it's not particularly useful since there's a lot of irrelevant noise. However, ZOS did let word of this slip out. At the start of the month, there was a marketing mail about the month's daily login rewards that made a passing mention of the Crafter's Celebration.

I also prefer reconstructing to transmuting for gear I'll use, but many people transmute weapons to nirnhoned for a shot at the nirncrux on decon. That isn't possible with reconstruction.

That sounds… like a very inefficient way to make gold tbh. Even with the reduced transmute cost. But I guess some people just have transmutes to spare and then it’s better than nothing.

the error was allowing one to recon at 12 cost and decon at 25 payout to you. so while tedious it was doable.

Same here man!!! Same here!!! This event should have been put in the Official Event Post. I just recently turned in several gold Master Writs. I could have gotten that Transmute Station with this double earnings by now.The developers should compensate me by giving me that Transmute station for free.

The only event announcements we get ahead of time are those which give tickets.

What are you talking about? It wasn't mentioned in the show case. Someone does mention some email though, so is that what you're thinking of?
    So how does it work?

To be honest I didn't think I'd be troubling the event manager, because I only came across a master writ on my sixth crafter, but I did get one!

It was a purple jewellery writ, for 55. Now that's approximately double the usual return, so is that how it's done?

    Because I didn't get 110 when I turned it in, I got 55.

If it's marked up for the event then will it stay marked up forever? Or will it only have that value for the duration of the event?

And how can it be double when it's 55?

Events should make you feel good, but somehow - worse drop rate and ambiguous mark up - I feel cheated.

ZOS never changes the value of a writ once it lands in game. We've seen this in 2 other cases when they adjusted jewelry crafting. So the 55 is the doubled reward because purple jc writs are typically 27-29 vouchers (which is what they were when first introduced to the game) and ZOS just rounded up or down from the original amount. Any writs you earn now but turn in after the event ends will still have the doubled amount.

I'd been saving up all my raw mats, surveys, and writs for an event like this. I almost ran out of refined mats for my daily quests because of how much and how long I'd been saving everything. I suspected saving them could come in handy for some event. Especially since the upcoming 10 year anniversary jubilee event is probably gonna need a lot of daily crafting. And with the current weekly endeavors all surrounding crating, I'd wondered if something was gonna happen soon. I was so excited to see this event on my launch screen, thinking all my saving would pay off.

But none of the old writs get the bonus, the additional resource boost doesn't affect survey-nodes, and refining raw mats doesn't seem to get a bonus either, just deconstructing I believe? At least now that I know the saving won't be fruitful I can clear out hundreds of bank slots haha... 🥲

Yesterday I didn't get any because my writs for that day were long finished when the event started. If I'd known what was coming I would have waited a couple of hours...

Today I just finished them on my first char, got one Alchemy Master writ that will give me a whopping 4 vouchers, so it seems to be working.

Honestly, this event was poorly thought out and poorly done.

Double vouchers on writs I only get during the event, with really bad drops for those writs? Terrible. Why not do extra transmutes in the RND's or something instead of the initial bad plan with the transmutes. We'd all have farmed the hell out of RND's and dungeon content to get extras.

Honestly the worst event I've encountered in my time in ESO.

Sorry to add to the chorus of complaints, but I agree the event is underwhelming. Increased resource nodes is nice, of course. But for an advertised "Crafters Event", nothing else seems extraordinary about it.

    - Transmuting gear always seemed overpriced anyway, so I supposed this event makes it a little more worthwhile. But for those who have already spent time farming for complete sets of gear, it doesn't add anything exciting at all. Maybe have a chance for transmutes in the daily writ rewards instead? That would have been sweet.
    - More material improvement drops from deconstructing is alright. I did not notice any increase in drops from refining material, which was a massive disappointment.
    - Furniture mats and plans still sorely lacking :'(

Since the start of this event have completed approximately 200 daily crafting writs over the 7 types and all my characters.

I have received one alchemy writ for 10 vouchers and two blacksmithing writs for 16 vouchers each. Coincidentally both blacksmithing writs were for items for which I did not have the relevant style with my main crafter. Looking at several guild traders the pages were in the region of 70,000 to 100,000 thousand gold so not worth bothering with.

Given it's a 6 day event surely thr drop rate could have been increased. I'm quite happy to have only occassional drops throughout the year.

I assume although the banner announcement still refers to a 50% item set recreation cost this is not happening?

Well rather than an event for me this will just be a slightly extended 100% materials farming session!
