though why is the event shorter than previous years?

Awesome! I enjoy events, but this seems a decent length of time to me, especially if there are going to be decorations, as there were for the Witches’ Festival, a shorter time makes them more fun and special IMHO. Plus, with the rotation of past event rewards, no one needs to feel that they have missed their last chance to unlock the collectibles.

• 2018: 20 days
• 2019: 15 days (but this coincided with a make-up for the cancelled Undaunted Event)
• 2020: 19 days, 57 tickets
• 2021: 20 days, 60 tickets
• 2022: 20 days, 60 tickets
• 2023: 14 days, 42 tickets

It's officially the shortest New Life event on record, even if you count the weird 5-ticket-per-day 2019 one that also doubled as a make-up for the Undaunted Event.

Christmas is the time where things slow down and most people have more time. so it was nice that it was longer.
This feels more like making people buy more tickets from the crown store

Was this said in the context of it being inline with other non-New Life events? Disappointed that this year's Festival is so short comparatively

So basically we're getting screwed out of 17-18 tickets...

Edit: Can I suggest making an extra ticket available each day? I know many of us make plans around New Life to get the items we want.

To my understanding, New Life is meant to be a sort of make-up event for those that missed out on event ticket during a previous event, hence why all the year's collectables are able to be gotten during it. With this New Life being so much shorter, it defeats the purpose of that. Is there any explanation why this year is so much shorter?

Why so short this year? I enjoyed New Life as it was more about being in the festive season a couple of weeks before Christmas (similar to how other games have a Holiday event on now).

If ZOS wanted to drive increase sales of event tickets then I would have preferred a reduction in daily ticket awards rather than a reduction in event time.

I hope next year (10 year anniversary) we get a full length New Life and maybe some additional achievements for each of the races quests. Something wacky like steal honey from Hearth Wife’s pantry etc… Not much dev time but has an impact on fans of New Life.

EDIT: I do feel someone has dropped the ball on this event internally. The Crown Store items were all timed to start on the 14th (as previous years tradition) and either something went haywire or the event team didn’t communicate with the crown store team?

Not only that, New Life being longer helps make up for missed days due to holiday real life things.

Traditionally NL has been the event to catch up on missed event stuff... Too bad we're breaking this tradition.

while 42 tickets is still more than most events, it is kind of reducing the "make up" period that this event was intended

i guess correctly on the start date, but kind of surprised by the early end date

Thanks for posting New Life event details several days before the event!

I'm surprised to see that the event is both shorter in days and in tickets compared to previous years New Life events.

Probably won't impact me, I just checked in with the assistant to Impresario, and it looks like I already have the personality, skin, and costume for this year. I have a full inventory of event tickets now, so I should have end up with enough tickets to get the three Hoardhunter Ursauk mount fragments, and two style pages for the Morningstar Frostwear if I need to buy some because of expected lousy RNG drop rate from event dailies. But other folks that are missing stuff for this year and trying to catch up will be shorted. Why less tickets?

Add me to the ‘not impressed by the shorter event’ list. I’m out for a week of it, and I sincerely doubt I’m the only one this time of year! ZOS, I am not carting my desktop with me just to log into your game!

EDIT: Looking at it again, is my calendar off or is January 9th a Tuesday not a Wednesday?

10 am est is 15 o'clock/3 pm gmt

Thanks, @LunaFlora for providing the time conversion.

Just for future times, the site linked is the US version of the blog post. However, if you are on the article and go to the upper left of the webpage, you should see a language drop down. If you click that and choose "English(INTL) then you should get the international version that has the time in GMT.

Just wanted to pass along that Playstation is also having a Crown sale, at the moment. That sale started after the XBox sale. I have no idea why they don't get all the various stores marching to the same tune. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Storefronts all have their own requirements. It's kinda like Walmart and Target. They have sales around the same time, but they don't start at the same time. Each has it's own rules associated with it.

I'm getting continual disconnects, it looks like the server can't handle the load (and yes, I have a more than "valid" internet connection, as that popup message says).

Hmm. I did PC NA/EU shortly after the event started. Crowds of people. No issues. Just finished XBox NA/EU. Same. No plans on playing Playstation today.

Currently on PC EU doing Necrom main quest. No issues in Eastmarch, where I loaded in.
