Wholesome Moments in IC

I'm an 800-CP DC player whose PvP experience is pretty limited. You can see me usually farming Tel Var in CP Imperial City. I was highly influenced by the posters telling their Arena boss memories where they beat the boss with other alliance players. So, when I see low CP or under-level 50 players trying to beat the Arena or Temple bosses, I often help them, then /wave and walk away.

Today when I was farming, I saw a high CP AD player behind me. Given that they literally obliterated a Xivkyn, they could probably kill me before I realized what was going on. But they didn't. We looked at each other, then walked away. After that, I saw two EP players, and after a moment they ignored me and walked away. While it's weird to avoid PvP in a PvP zone, I feel like the soldiers on Battlefield I trailer that lowered their guns. I wanted to share this with you. I hope you're tolerating some inexperienced players as well, and buying my Hakeijos. Have a great day!

I do a daily in IC in two accounts, sort of a habit I got into.

The vast majority of encounters with players of opposing factions we duly ignore each other. Maybe once every month someone engages me.

Probably a disappointment for players who are there for PvPvE but I never carry any tel var on me nor I pose any particular challenge (because once engaged I just want it to be over ASAP so I can get back to what I'm there for) therefore besides a bit of AP the first time they take me down I am of little value.

I mainly go to IC to do the daily and farm Tel Var - if I want to PvP, I go to Cyrodil. If someone doesn't want to fight me, I leave em alone, no point in being a jerk. I've had plenty of instances where me and a player from an opposing faction just stared at each other for a second and then went on our way - the other day I was opening one of the vault chests and turn around, and there's a player just standing there, waiting his turn for the chest.

It's been years since I've actually played in IC (I only went there to do one or two event quests during this time), but I love the unique experience it can offer :) Killing bosses and completing quests together with enemy players, dueling (sometimes even in pairs), showing off mounts/emotes. If player visits IC often and doesn't succumb to zerg/griefer mentality, there are wonders to discover

Observing how enemy players behave when they can technically attack everyone around them is so thrilling! Too many nerfs happened and skills changed over these years, so I don't have wish to play PvP in this game nowadays. But I really miss all the interesting encounters in IC, and few awesome players I used to meet there :(

Only time another player didn’t kill me in IC was when I was fishing for the Master Angler title. Then some of them did kill me anyway lol. No tel var for them because I was on my stamblade and sneaked the whole way.

Imp City is, generally, more likely to see "ceasefires" because of the heavy PvE nature of the zone. That said there are still diehard PvPers that will hunt you without remorse and even bag you for your trouble. It's nice to hear there's still players that offer truce when there's a roaming Boss to defeat.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's about Imperial City.

    Thank you for your understanding

one of the best things about open world pvp is some of the times in between all the fighting...

i know there are some folks who can stay amped up and focused while fighting for hours/days/weeks/months/years...

a lot of us though don't mind skipping a rotation/blocking/roll dodging/los-ing/etc. session every once in a while...

I wish I could get people in IC to ignore me. LOL.

I need a lead from a patrolling horror and I am about to give up on it entirely. Spent 2 hours today trying. I can't even find one of the bosses before someone kills me. Often the same few people again and again.

I have even been killed while in the process of picking up a skyshard.

I thought with the event being on it might be better but sadly not.

And the way it now broadcasts my frequent deaths on the chat just adds to the humiliation. At least before I could be quietly rubbish at PvP. Now I don't even have that.

Ive had that countless times over the years, mostly it was on console though. Meeting an opposing alliance player staring at each for a sec then emoting cheers then going opposite ways back to what we were doing 😁. In the early days of cyrodil pvp i started and ran a mixed alliance guild which most pvped, also joined a mixed alliance guild later which was real popular at the time. So everyone knew each other, so it was common practice to avoid attacking someone who was getting zerged down or outnumbered. So you ended up with alot of moments where you just wouldnt attack friends and related arrangements.
