I no longer group with guilds. The guild that I did group with has all pretty much quit because of these types of changes. Most are playing games that treat their players like people instead of bank accounts.

A few thoughts and suggestions about this event:

Daily and Master Writs: There are multiple events for PvE, for daily quests, for harvesting (double nodes, including this one), for PvP (2 Mayhem events, unfortunately back-to-back this year). It would be nice if there was more than one for crafters.

I can see that devs might not want people doing hundreds per day - so why not just put a 50/box per day limit on the event, like there is on other events? Problem solved, and everyone can be happy.

Plus - Zenithar is supposed to reward hard work. Let's not forget the lore behind this. Crafters want to work; let them be rewarded for it.

Guild participation: I can see why ZOS wants to reward guildies working together. It suits the theme of Zenithar, and also - people who actively participate in guilds tend to enjoy MMOs more. They're more likely to continue playing. But - No one wants to feel forced to do it, either.

So, why not just give an additional bonus (gold, xp, purple box or a chance of one, possible event drop) of some sort to those who do participate in a group with a guild member, instead of penalizing those who don't?

"Each time you defeat a world boss while grouped"
"Each time you complete a world event while grouped"
Is it just me, or it feels kinda um.. (from the lack of better term) discriminating ?

I mean, what happed with the famous "play as you want" ? If I am playing this game solo, then all I can do is to do daily crafting + Master Writs... :|

Thanks for ruining this event by limiting the writs.

We wanted to touch on this as we've seen the feedback around this change. The intention here was not to "ruin" the event, but rather bring it inline with team expectations. The writs are limited this time around to reduce the amount of writ spamming that occurred during the last event. The amount of spamming did not line up with the team's intention for the event. While we know this a frustrating change for some, it was a change made with careful consideration for the overall health of the event.

That being said, there is always room for adjustment in the future, so please continue to share your feedback.

Writ spamming was the most attractive part of the event. It was one of the few events where us crafters and traders could shine. It was like tax return season. Now, there's no incentive for me to participate in this. "The Team" needs to be better about aligning their intentions with what players enjoy. This event was an absolute blast last year; this years seems far less so. And speaking of their intentions for the events, what exactly are those?

Oh and are the drop rates more generous for the new style pages here or are they comparable to the last few events?

*sigh* A lot of these comments feel... a bit over the top. As it is now, you can get what, 12 boxes completely on your own each day? Not counting a bit of thieving which is not capped. In addition, you can still get unlimited boxes with a guild buddy. It's not that hard... It reminds me a little bit of the "why should I be forced to PvP to get stuff??" argument.

Okay but what about all the spamming that occurs during other events such as the Undaunted event where people just sit by the door of Fungal Grotto and spam that dungeon, completely skipping most bosses and add wave’s because they can cheese the dungeon? Most people can finish that dungeon in the same amount of time it takes to do a single master writ, but there is no limit on how many dungeons you can run, per day, per account.

This event has been ruined for crafters and resource farmers such as myself.

Eh, there is a timer that you have to wait out between boss kills. FG1 can be done in like 4 minutes killing all bosses but you won't get event box drops for all bosses doing so. You would have to wait either 3 or 5 minutes between bosses (can't remember which). Which leads to a lot of standing around and waiting.

I imagine the issue is also that people prepped 100s of writs in advance and turned them all in at once. Basically chewing through all of their saved master writs within the first like hour of the event. Personally, I remember doing close to 50 or 60 on day 1, prepped them all the night before and just stood there and turned them in. You can't really do that with a dungeon boss.

boss loot timer does not apply in group dungeons

i didnt "pre-craft" any master writs last zenithar event but i did complete almost 100 master writs on the first day of the event and this year i have little incentive to even bother doing them (im still going to do them cause im too lazy to do them throughout the year lol)

12 ? Is there something I don't know about ? I only counted 9 + 1 from introductory quest (if you have multiple characters you can do introductory quest more than once per event).
    - 1 from any daily quest per account per day.
    - 1 from daily crafting quest per account per day.
    - 7 from Master Writ crafting (each from one skill line) per account per day.

So that is 9 if you play solo and assuming you are stacked with Master Writs (which I can imagine meany people are not). The moment you are out of Master Wrists it is like 2 per day (1 from crafting daily & 1 from any daily quest).

Sure, you might try to steal stuff, but good luck with that as it only drops from (and is not guaranteed so RNG on top):
    - pickpocketing citizens
    - strongboxes
    - thieves troves

During this event there will be more people trying to rob NPC vs the NPCs. Like 5 dudes will wait till NPC re-spawns, the 1st lucky one who clicks 1st will steal stuff and NPC is killed of with blade of woe so it will re-spawn faster. Same for strongboxes & thieves troves - stuff will be camped. Kinda ugly design if you ask me.

Edit: So yeah, If I understand this correctly, you can do "Honest Toil" quest once per character, so if you have 12 characters you can do this quest 12 per day.

It is very confusingly written tbh.

    It seems that you can:
    - Do introductory quest "The Unrefusable Offer" on as many characters you have and you should get the event box (but only once per character per event).
    - After Honest Toil quest is unlocked, you can do this on as many characters you have and you should get the event box once per day per character.
    - 1 Crafting quest per account per day.
    - 7 Master Writ (1 from each skill line) per account per day.
    - Uncapped, but with RNG and other players trying to do the same (camping stuff) pickpocketing, strongboxes, thieves troves.

The rest is locked behind being in group.

Just in case folks are unclear, this is the symbol of Zenithar
    ON-concept-Zenithar_Divine_symbol.png

NOWHERE implied in that symbol is killing anything, grouping with anyone, stealing anything, DOING ANYTHING but tasks in honor of the "God of Work and Commerce, Trader God".

Khajiit thinks they should instead call this event the "Dev Expectations Event". Because this is NOT celebrating Zenithar.

Actually, it was account wide achievements that killed my desire to play alts in the first place, due to most of the zone map being automatically completed and most of the achievements I like to do already being completed too. YMMV, of course.

    1. Last year there were special random encounters that occurred during the event. I didn't see them mentioned in the article. Will they be turned on during the event this year?

    2. Will there be any way to acquire last year's style pages this year? I think it was called Highrock Spellsword.

Any clarity yet on the first question, please, regarding the number of tickets for the Deadlands Personality & the number available through this event?

Deadlands Personality fragments have been available on the PTS from Philius Dormier, the Impresario's assistant, for several events now. The same number (3) for the same price (10 tickets each) as they were when they were originally available. The Unstable Morpholith Pet originally required 3 fragments also, that cost 5 tickets each. (That hasn't been available on the PTS, but there's no reason to believe it'll be different than it was.)

My question to Kevin, is whether these fragments will continue to be available during future events. Because it will make a difference to people who have a long way to go, whether or not it's worth it to start purchasing these fragments.

Hope that clarifies it for you! We await further information from Kevin about future events.

I wasn't a fan of the event last time around, I'm even less of a fan this time, especially because they now have both armour and weapon new style pages in the Impressario, and it's just too many things to farm. During Mayhem they also had armour and weapon pages and with only one drop per day for the new pages and not nearly enough tickets awarded, it was basically a set-up for 'Come buy your tickets from the store!'.

Because this is meeting dev expectations. Moons forbid there are actually worthwhile rewards for engaging in this celebration of Zenithar, the God of Work and Commerce, the Provider of our Ease

Well, he is certainly providing for this one's ease. Will be much less active this time around. Khajiit is happy to save his 1200 sealed writs until 2x exp event.

As stated several times, removing the repeatable Parcel drops from doing master writs pulls the carpet under the whole event.

Last year I did 593 master writs. This year I have 575 writs qued up and I reckon I will do precisely 7x13 or 91 of them. Will I go kill 500 world bosses or dolmens? Most likely not as it is really boring and there is very little incentive for people to share the daily WB quests that would be interesting to me.

Also sidenote @ZOS_Kevin this was the first event in ESO history that reused old loot containers thus many add-ons that were using contained IDs for statistics or whatever got thrown off. Is this going to be a trend for the future thus should we change practice?

Those are all daily. Each time you get a completely different quest. They do not repeat. Once you do them all, they stop.

My biggest complaint for this event would be the fact there's now not just one but two style sets to complete (16 pages total, if I'm not wrong; compared to previously typically 7-10 or so). Combined with the fact not even the golden box guarantees a stile page drop this feels massively over-scaled when you compare the number of things to get (or buy) and the number of ways to earn boxes without farming for hours (or the number of tickets to get) – and that's (at least for me) not fun. Whether it's farming crafting writs for hours or world bosses for hours. Style pages shouldn't be just simple "login bonuses", but I also think there should be a chance to get them within a reasonable time per day that still leaves you to do things you want to do.

The issue with this is the game is supposed to be how you want to play - as a solo player, this has gutted the main draw of the event for me. Yes, I can still gain parcels from stealing, but that is such a nerf to solo players that now we feel forced to do group-oriented content. There's nothing wrong with rewarding group content, the issue is they have now made it the only way to gain those unlimited boxes. The PvP event is something that not a lot of players will enjoy, but that's the point - it's an event tailored towards PvP, so it should be something meant for them, maybe not for us. Now this event that was tailored towards crafters and solo players has been changed into one that rewards 8 boxes a day, at most, for crafting. I'm sorry if you can't understand that, but it's very plain to see why many players like myself would be upset over this change. I can understand the reasoning behind the master writ change, but the daily crafting one still makes no sense for a crafting event.
