Anyone getting a very slow/delayed 'PLAY' button to appear on LAUNCHER lately?

Before i go over to the Bug Reports section (or maybe to the PC Tech Support section ) , i was just wondering if anyone else has noticed lately (since just this week) how the game Launcher , upon 1st starting up , has been much much slower & delayed with making the actual 'PLAY' button appear ?

Seems to be taking upwards of 60+ seconds to appear , whereas before ( like , last week and every week since 2013 beta lol ) it would just pop-up immediately.

i've only been able to find this old thread from 2021 about this particular topic: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/588379/bug-report-eso-launcher-play-button-wont-appear

The "Play" button can be delayed when your connection is not fast enough. I noticed that the launcher downloads web resources on each start, and these resources are surprisingly big (multiple Megabytes). Even when normally your connection is fast, it could be a peering problem with your Internet provider as well.

.... That ^ seems worth investigating too yep. So i went ahead an bumped @Fabi95 's reply as a potential "yes" .

It "may" be a connection issue for some, but I bet not most. It just started happening and unless the whole worlds Internet connection coincidentally went down the drain at the same time ZOS made a change, pretty sure it isn't us. Not to mention my gig Internet connection is rock solid and I literally have issues with nothing, except ESO.

It's not the internet connections. I run speedtest during the "wait for the play button" and my internet is just as solid as it always is. They've borked something, as usual.

That's like when U33 dropped and Win 7 systems suddenly couldn't open Chrome and other browsers after playing ESO. They said stuff like "check your internet connection, update Windows," etc. Like all of a sudden our computers all locked up at the same time? Really?

For me it is usually when my isp messes something...

Last week there was some reports for eso crashing chrome or other programs. Today my eso crashed after receiving email at outlook, on the other hand i usually have two instances of chrome opened all the time even with eso - seems problems differ for different pc/hardware...

Yes. Just like the phantom "Approximate wait 1 sec" login queue, or the "The account is already logged in" prompt. Cancel and do it again.

The amount of bugs and dysfunction introduced since Update 33 is astounding.

Happened to me once yesterday. Didn't show up the first time I ran the launcher, slight delay when I tried again.

Yes. It used to just pop up. Now it builds slowly, very slowly as I wait anxiously hoping I don't get the repair button.

Thats why I cancel it, I was getting the repair button as well if I waited to long for Play to show up, and it really would force me to run a repair. Now I just cancel away from the delayed button and no more repair button. Play generally shows up right away on the second try, if not, third time is the charm! ;)

Same on PC NA here, only not 60 seconds. Just this past week, it seems common for the delay between launcher coming up and seeing Play has gone from just a few seconds to 20-30 seconds.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

Yes seems to be any where from 20 seconds to a minute or a little over each time when I start the launcher on STEAM before the play button shows up lately.

Yes, I’ve been having the no play button problem, along with the “you’ve been placed in a queue, 1 second” where the 1 second never ends. It’s been going on all week. Plus, the load screens are longer than ever and I am frequently knocked offline. Fun, fun.

Just don't use the launcher except to download updates. If you go into the game folder, you can just start it using the eso64.

Yes, I commented on this issue on the tail end of the "Endless Loadscreen" thread several days ago... ran another repair today to try to fix it and came away with a new error code this afternnon.

As the servers seem to stabilize I'm seeing a new issue. The Launcher's PLAY button is taking forever to appear sometimes. It just seems to hang without a PLAY button for up to 2 minutes.

(humming Simon & Garfunkel) Slow down, you're loading too fast.... Gotta make the lagfest last.... Just kicking down the cobblestone.... Looking for fun and feeling moody!

Of course, I'd like to feel groovy and have other moments last... not the loadscreens or the moments awaiting a loadscreen. :)
was my original post about it on April 5th.

Actually now the "loading" part (before the news etc. comes up) is taking a long time.

That too... but even once all the news and ads are up it is taking more than a minute to load the PLAY button about half the time.

Yeah, I'm also getting this issue. I've run a bunch of diagnostics. But at the end of the day people who live on the other side of the continent are getting the same issue. That strongly implies the issue is either the server or the software, not any of our computers or internet connections.

hmm, both good points then yeah ... Well , would be nice to get the scoop from either @ZOS_Kevin or @ZOS_GinaBruno but i'm guessing they are busy relaxing on spring break lol ( in which case, sorry for annoying *forum pings* just now B) )
