Anyone else having the issue that their Play button in the ESO launcher is not appearing?

Anyone know what the fix is?

Same is happening to my family member. To be a bit more specific it hangs around "Loading" for an unusually long time, then tries to download a patch for FIRST the PTS, then if you disable the PTS and try again it will do the same routine for live - both cases giving the "Unable to download patch Manifest" error.

Finally a "Repair" button shows up. Quite a coincidence the same problem afflicts my family member.

    Edit: On PC

Same thing is happening to me. Support just said to repair but it was working fine until about an hour ago.

Why do I have to repair the game when it was working fine and I can still access it via the exe file and bypass the launcher? Something went south with the launcher right as they completed the xbox and playstation updates. That is when mine stopped working.

Same here. Can run the game using the exe file, it's just the launcher that's borked.

Wait until tomorrow, the launcher may just work fine again.

Use a shortcut to the eso64.exe

Btw, the Play button does not show up until the launcher vets the game version using the patch manifest process. 99.99999999% of the time Manifest issues are meaningless. Unless you know it is a patch day.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

That worked for me! I was having the same or similar error — could not download patch manifest and so no “Play” button, only news and ad scroll.

It hadn't occurred to me that the game could be started apart from the launcher — thank you, @Nestor !

Hi All, we are tracking this issue right now. There is another thread here, where we are asking for some information.

It would be great if anyone who are experiencing the issue could pass along their Host File. You can send that to me via private message.

If you need instructions on how to get this file, please refer to the article, linked here.

    Thank you.
