Yes I really don't believe they would add crown slots.

I don't generally try to deride ZOS.

But the green tree is the most horribly thought-out thing I have ever seen.

It feels like we're honestly being punished for - how dare we - wanting to harvest nodes, hunt treasure chests and furniture plans, and be a crafter.

Taking things that were once passives and making them have to be slotted in a limited slot scenario is a slap in the face.

    1. OP I love your post title :)

    2. I just said this in another thread about it being a slap in a face. And not just because we might WANT to do this. Because we have ACTIVELY BEEN ENCOURAGED to so this by a myriad of other game design decisions. Master crafters not being able to transmute for others, useful passives like the glowy chest being at the end of a grind-y, non-combat-related skill line, etc. All things point to ZOS wanting us to do everything on every toon... and now we are being punished for embracing it.

Ah yes, the fabled god-like capabilities of picking a flower in less than 5 seconds and getting slightly better loot from a treasure chest.

ZOS have been improving QOL for a while and in this patch (most recently crafting writs, being able to port to outside our house etc.) it feels like a big step back. It's just needlessly inconvenient.

It kind of feels like ZOS forgot that two thirds of their player base is on console. With the recent changes to writs, it seemed like they were focusing on console and non-addon PC players but the green changes here are bad if you can't use addons. Choosing combat styles makes sense, lobotomizing crafters not so much.

It's not just about power level doing individual tasks, it's about being able to do everything well. We were able to do everything well before, but now we have to choose what we want to be a master at. I think it was kind of ridiculous before, we were all essentially playing mary sue toons because of power creep. ZOS finally fixed that and forced players on a slider making us have to decide what we want instead of giving us everything.

The people who were the most comfortable with having everything will be the ones who have the hardest time adjusting to the CP revamp. Since I've played long enough to live through the veteran rank experience, I'd take CP 2.0 over it any day.

no, we was not able to do everything well before without drawback, we still needed to choose for what passive we are goning if we cared for them and for sure we didnt had good 75% of passives we have got now from green cp and not that powerfull

we could have to choose all passves for our utility in cp before but it was weaker and so we needed to choose what to sacriface for this and we had at all only for better treasure loots, additional chance for amts when gathering - 20%, now we have 50%- and halfed gathering time of mats along with faster movement by full 2%! now we still can slot these passives we had before, all we had before but what with rest then? I for sure prefer then just max everything which doesnt need to be sloted after I have maxed all these 4 slotable leaving me for later just wasting next gainable point for green tree for which I wont have willing to use, to care to play this minimgame of slotting different skills for different things every moment

can I have not option to ignore gaining cp to green cp when I wont need it anymore to gain blue and red cp's in place of these green?

Yes, you want to be able to have all the bonuses in the green tree all active at once so you can be a powerful gatherer/crafter. But now you have to pick which aspects of gathering you want to be good at....you can't have it all be active at once anymore.

as I dont need all of them at once tbh why not anyway? I have gained these cp, I have played to gain them and why I cant have use of them? give me option to disable gaining xp for green cp and leavy only red and blue to be able to get exp as I cant have full use of green tree because for any activity to be efficient now we will need to have 6 or 8 active skills at once from cp

depending on activity it would need now to have 6 or 8 active passives at once but we cant have use of them even we have gained them
some of these even should be passive anyway like rationer.....at best you will need to acive rationer once every 1.5h with passives to longer food time to even once every 3 hours....whats sense of that? and then if you slot it specially to boost food time for memont you now have 30 sec cooldown before unslotting it again

if we cant be so powerfull in gathering which is least problem here as we are so powerfull to defeat gods, daedric princes etc then give me option to spent noneeded green cp somewhere else in blue or red cp to have more option for slotting depending what would be most efficient till I get 3600 cp
or give me even additional active passive slot from green by spending additional green point from which I dont have any use and I wont have any use because of not willing to not only play this minigame of slotting passives but also wait 30 sec everytime to swap it again after swap before

ahh and 1 thing btw...we can still have active all at once which we had with cp before and now they are also powerfull but we are locked from over half of avaible "passives" which are nice and usefull in compare to cp before where many unused passives or forced to use was not so much worth anyway

Green slots has kinda ruined the ease of this.

Wish that they had made them all passives.

Totally agree. No need to even have a craft tree since it doesn't affect combat where the lag tags place. Zos doesn't like to give us what's logical. They always seem to take things away and nerf stuff just to aggrevate us.

i have to totally agree with ya.

The devs should play the game for at least 2 weeks doing those side jobs, that we do on a regular basis, to actually fill our pains...

They even try to kills jackofalltrades addon... we just found another way to slot / unslot / reslot green passives... at the end i think it still more stress for the servers all those swapping... versus a few mathematical iteration...

anyway, those green should all have been passive skills, since they don't boost our dps or suvrability

the best was when they told us an cooldown for slotting these passives was to reduce lag which could be becuase of "spam" changing them with help of addon on PC for example, cooldown which wasn't on PTS

like people will use this addon anyway, less efficient now but still, as it could "cause lag" without cooldown there is still a bit of this aspect generating lag into servers by people constantyl changing these passives anyway instead just having them

Idk... I kind of think your understanding of "powerful" is incorrect. We are too powerful if we can smash through content with infinite sustain. We are too powerful if we never die in PvP.

Making the argument that the crafting/gathering skills make us powerful is like saying if the character login screen was faster we would be more powerful. Or if I could eliminate crashing in the game that is unfair because I'm now more powerful than people who still have crashes.

I might be more efficient with the time I'm spending in front of the keyboard, but I'm not more powerful. AT MOST you could argue that I have an advantage where I have the potential to become more powerful, faster, because I waste less time in game, but even then that's a ridiculous argument at this point in the game when we can buy whole skill lines or large groups of skyshards with crowns or by trading gold. Suddenly making a few conveniences unable to coexist when we can do such things is like taking a toothpick to try to tear down a cement wall.

From the very beginning of ESO, efficiency has been a reward we have reaped for spending more time in game... look at horse feeding. Look at hirelings. The limitations in the green tree as it is right now are simply not logical. They accomplish nothing (not balance, not growth, not fixing power creep) except to serve as an irritation to loyal customers and I'm really surprised anyone here can defend it.

I can understand certain nodes being slottable because they can possibly impact combat. However, half of these are not currently slottables. It's like ZoS got it completely backwards.

Passives that should be Slottables - can impact combat
    • Breakfall - particularly in PvP
    • Steadfast Enchantment
    • Out of Sight
    • Fleet Phantom

"Correct" Slottables - impacts combat in some way
    • Liquid Efficiency
    • Sustaining Shadows
    • Gifted Rider
    • Shadowstrike

Slottables that should be Passives - no impact on combat, having them as slottables currently affects/discourages immersive gameplay where one just wanders and interacts with Tamriel
    • Treasure Hunter
    • Meticulous Disassembly
    • Master Gatherer
    • Plentiful Harvest
    • Homemaker - this node needs work in general anyway
    • Professional Upkeep
    • Steed's Blessing - it's out of combat anyway, why also slottable?
    • War Mount - again, out of combat only. No need to take up a slot.
    • Friends in Low Places - this has such a specific set of conditions to work that it shouldn't need a slot.
    • Reel Technique
    • Angler's Insticts
    • Cutpurse's Art
    • Infamous

I'm on the fence about Rationer. Could go either way and I'd be fine with it.

By going with the above proposed division of slottables and passives, there are still some decisions to make. Do you want to be fast? Are you involved in sneaky pursuits? Will minimizing potion consumption and weapon decay help in your trial or dungeon? But it's not the absolute cluster duck that it is now where I can't do anything without stopping to change CP (manually, mind you) and being told I can't do that right now because it took me less than 30 seconds to get from a treasure chest to a harvesting node to a backpack.

I agree with the general principle, with a few exceptions:
    • Steed’s Blessing and mount speed may be only in combat, but getting to the combat is a huge thing in Cyrodiil so I can see this being slottables.
    • Rationer shouldn’t be as it really doesn’t effect combat, but rather your resources. Even more so for Steadfast Enchantment since soul gems are sooo plentiful. No one would use it if it were slottable.

Pssst. If on PC Jack of all Trades addon is worth a look for this issue.

It kind of feels like ZOS forgot that two thirds of their player base is on console. With the recent changes to writs, it seemed like they were focusing on console and non-addon PC players but the green changes here are bad if you can't use addons. Choosing combat styles makes sense, lobotomizing crafters not so much.

they are bad even if you do use addons TBH

I love new CP system but yes, Green CP is pretty bad designed.
I also don't understand why we've path on the green CP.

I can understand certain nodes being slottable because they can possibly impact combat. However, half of these are not currently slottables. It's like ZoS got it completely backwards.

Passives that should be Slottables - can impact combat
    • Breakfall - particularly in PvP
    • Steadfast Enchantment
    • Out of Sight
    • Fleet Phantom

"Correct" Slottables - impacts combat in some way
    • Liquid Efficiency
    • Sustaining Shadows
    • Gifted Rider
    • Shadowstrike

Slottables that should be Passives - no impact on combat, having them as slottables currently affects/discourages immersive gameplay where one just wanders and interacts with Tamriel
    • Treasure Hunter
    • Meticulous Disassembly
    • Master Gatherer
    • Plentiful Harvest
    • Homemaker - this node needs work in general anyway
    • Professional Upkeep
    • Steed's Blessing - it's out of combat anyway, why also slottable?
    • War Mount - again, out of combat only. No need to take up a slot.
    • Friends in Low Places - this has such a specific set of conditions to work that it shouldn't need a slot.
    • Reel Technique
    • Angler's Insticts
    • Cutpurse's Art
    • Infamous
    • Fade Away

I can see your point on the mount passives.

However, I would still maintain that Steadfast Enchantment should be slottable. Soul gems might be plentiful but not needing to stop as often while doing dungeons or trials (or have your game stutter for a second when an addon recharges for you) can be good for combat. I was in a group for a vAS+2 where the tank healer had to try to charge his weapon during the fight and everytime he got his inventory open, Felms did his jump, lol.

Rationer only works at the precise moment you eat your food. Having it slotted the rest of the time doesn't do anything.

It's one of those obnoxious stars that need to be slotted only for a very short time for performing a specific action, and these need to be passives. It's just a very egregious offender because you're doing that action so infrequently. With Homeworker, Treasure Hunter, Meticulous Disassembly, etc., you're at least performing these with some regularity. Rationer is just annoying.
Or have it reworked, though I doubt that longer food duration is worth a star slot.

I would generally agree with you except for “ Meticulous Disassembly”, that is only useful at a crafting station. If you were out questing, it’s pointless.

That's technically true, but depending on how full your inventory is on average you might be visiting crafting stations fairly often. I put them in each house I own for that very reason, plus there are the ones scattered around each zone.

Yeah we're not gods anymore, we can't have everything...we have to make choices, but that also means everyone else around us has to make the same choices. So choose wisely!

LOL. Is this for real? Or am I being trolled?

Could you talk about green CP tree on next dev stream? There are definitely flaws there and too many players unhappy about it
