Alessia bridge wars from before they changed the map and made the bridge destructible. Do you miss the old fights, with lots of players and siege, that would last for hours?

I disagree, there's usually some passive aggressive sieging for a while afterwards. It also serves as a useful toilet break for everyone before it's repaired.
I still think they should turn the bridge into a battleground, 40v40.0 -

Passive aggressive sieging most definitely is, I will give you the toilet breaks tho. And most of the time, it means EP can finally either take back chal or take aleswell or dragon, which is also very much PvP since DC tends to defend chal and ales at the least. Not to mention it opens up the possibility for a mile gate fight.0 -

And I bet they only destroy the one bridge thinking its going to stop them entirely right?
Honestly I get that destroying it looks like a good tactical decision, but all that means is you have no clue where the enemy is going to hit and you loose the ability to easily keep pressure on sej. Glorious and hilarious! Dragon Leap groups on the slim walkway across left at low health for lol. There's still the rickety bridge to keep the lines of aggression open. I like the new bridges. I wish in a world they want people to spread out more, they could give some AP for them as objectives. Milegates are just kind of a thankless job, repair or destroy.Fear is the Mindkiller0 -

I imagine so, but whenever I log on we're either getting pushed back, already own Alessia and Blue Road Keep, or are assaulting Roebeck/Chalman. So rare to get into a bridge fight nowadays.

biminirwb17_ESO✭✭✭✭✭The redesign of The Bridge was a poor decision in my opinion, being able to fight underneath, hopping over the river to sneak attack from behind etc. oh the fun we had.

As Ash Milegate is for EP, as Chalman Milegate is for AD, the bridge for DC is the holy ground, the destination, the place to be. There isn't a happier sight at a red Sejanus and a yellow Alessia for a DC. It means the bridge is open. You would stock up the camps, grab a friend, speedball your mount and set off on a fantastic journey.
It isn't the same now. You have career sieges who dedicate their playing time to keep milegates/bridges shut down. I can understand the patriotic vocation. But as a player looking for just a morsel of what once was, it does get tiring.{★★★★★ · ★★★★★ · ★★ · ★★★★★}350m+ AP PC - EUAddons

Fighting at the bridge is usually a waste of time. Low earnings in the fight b/c it's not an official position combined with just the numbers all hitting different targets.
But if the focus of the thread is about the destructible bridges and gates, then yes, that is a bad mechanic. Let's make it easy to cut off pvp in a pvp zone was not the best idea.
Let's not forget that AD cannot get past the gates or bridges when destroyed, but other alliances can still get past the gates to our side. I guess at least the bridges are mostly impassible both directions.
But what should have happened when they added outposts and towns and such is they should have NOT made the bridges and gates destructable, but built outposts into them that can be taken and controlled. No army would have outposts at random spots and then have a gate or bridge that controls access not guarded. Frankly, Sej should be at (or right beside) the bridge, Nikel at the milegate and Bleakers as well. Have them be on the side of the gate or bridge that favors the alliance they "belong" to so it's hard for enemy to take b/c you can attack the gate or bridge from the outpost and easier to take back since it will be on the side trying to take it when enemy controlled. Those three outposts are obviously meant as sort of fortifications to protect those choke points, but they aren't used/designed as such. And the gates and bridges themselves should not be destructible. But I would create paths to get from top of outposts onto top of milegates and bridges but not vice versa to make defending them more plausible. (Though I guess you could have the gates and bridges not guarded by outposts be destructible still).-- @xaraan --
