To be 100% clear, Zenimax themselves have backtracked the naming and shaming, and actually requested that the community help combat the issue in the past. This is ironic because the active approach that they took back in April 2014, lead to the issue being resolved by the end of the month. On the other hand, we have been dealing with bots, and cheaters for 6 years because it is not a "large enough of an inconvenience to the developers". It make the game almost unplayable, it destroys the market, and breeds more TOS violations. It is a simple lack of care. We as a community do not matter as much as a cheaters privacy, and the value of a cheater is placed above those that do obey the TOS. It is not the responsibility of the community to enforce the tos in the game, it is up to zenimax to prevent it in the first place. If you have a person walk into a bank and rob the place, you have three choices: upgrade the security to prevent it from happening again, place an armed guard in the building to combat it, or let everyone rob the bank. Zenimax's approach of "report the bank robber" is not acceptable, especially when the cheater is back the next day.

The current approach is like walking down the street seeing a person getting mugged on the corner, seeing a cop on the opposite side of the street, running over to the cop and pointing out the person who is committing the crime, and having the officer respond "Please do not point out the criminals, or I will have to arrest you. Unfortunately, event though I am a cop, it is not my job to be proactive in stopping the crimes. If you want to report the crime, please send in a letter to the police department, and they will handle it if there are too many incidents. Be safe out there, it's a dangerous world!"

Maybe if they took a more aggressive approach, as they have clearly done in the past, the community would be better, and along with the crown sales. I can assure you that no bot is buying crown store items.

Same. In all my thousands of hours playing, I've never seen a GM in ESO. Makes me wonder why they even have that loading screen about real GMs having a [Z] next to their name.

So we think they are actually in-game monitoring things, despite all evidence to the contrary.

Those memories come back to haunt me, they haunt me like a curse.
Is a dream a lie if it don't come true, or is it something worse.

It has been a long time since I saw one in the game. Like, 6 years.

Obviously an actual GM, photographed in the wild lands of Tamriel is by far the rarest item in the game. There are plenty of people in the game that will pay huge sums of gold for proof that such a thing even exists.

Yes, the drop rate of GMs in this game is so low that you are likely to get a stack of Aetheric Ciphers before that happens.

A blurry picture of bigfoot is more reliable then a picture of a GM in game.

Many people got helped by a GM when they got stuck as monkeys in the Vile Laboratory including myself back in the day.
You called for a GM in zone and they helped. Haven't seen one since.
