Going back to guild wars 2 has solved my ping issues.... Pretty close to zero lag issues there and its more populated

I've scanned thru a lot of comments here and it all points to a major issue that you are doing to us on your end. My previous post:

That said, I want you to know that I think very highly of this game. It took some convincing for me to purchase ESO plus for the extra benefits to enjoy a little more out of life. However, and again "that said", I really do not appreciate the fact that here I am expecting and assuming my home computer is connecting to a server somewhere in the Unites States, not to be routed half way across the Globe. I live in Honolulu. The Island of Oahu. I'm very far from the west coast.

I had no issues before , for the number of years I have lived here and played this game. It is only recently I am becoming very confused and stupified over the blundering type of customer service that you are providing. This year alone and especially since the September patches beging ISP blocked, as if you and your patchwork files are a virus, trojan, worm, or unsafe program that I have to use either a manual method to get the patch, or use VPN programs, like windscribe. Which I did not appreciate because of using that, something got into my computer and it cost me over $800.00 to fix it.

Surprisingly, you see me post this information now to you a few times. And ...... not one of you owned up to any ADULT responsibility to in at the very least as a human being apologize for "my" inconvenience.

This issue, what ever you're doing, I'm sorry but you need to stop. I'm not going to sit here and make a threat like ending my sub, I'm not going to sit here and rant and rave yelling at you, what I am going to do is just this. To alert you, Zenimax, that I, as one of your customers, am having an issue that from what I and others have gathered, is all your fault so I'm asking you, to please fix this, put it back to what it was like before, I'm not looking for hand outs and or free bees, I just want to play my game as it was meant to be played.

I just want to to play this game.

Not sure about any changes, but I have noticed that my ping is generally a bit better. What I have also noticed is much more frequent spikes and crashes.

My trace still goes via Tokyo. The only difference now is traffic routes from Sydney up to Asia rather than heading across to Perth and then up.

I did notice on tracert I did the other day that followed this unusual path.

If you purchased the game from a local retailer like EB then yes, you would have a very strong case under our current Laws to be entitled to a refund. No such luck if purchased from an international entity as there's no realistic means of getting it enforced.

the answer is yes. the game is dog@#%% from an end game perspective for anyone in australia. to die, lose fights, let down trial raids, etc, etc cos of constant lag and dc's is a drain not only on us but on others in our groups as well.
we ve seen gradual and steady decline from 220 when i started to 280 + vpn- so now im paying more for less essentially.

I log on everyday to see if it's changed. It hasn't.

I started playing another game to fill the hole left by ESO support. This other game gets 230ms ping. That's what ESO used to get.

Just to add my voice to the mass, the latency issue is really bad at the moment. Trials and dungeons just freeze for a couple of seconds where you just hope that you don't die, and even when it is running 'properly' you are fighting a lag that means trying to weave or even just avoid red circles becomes really difficult. I am sick of finding myself dead in a place that, from what I can see, is clearly outside of the red circle. PvP involves repeatedly finding yourself dead as soon as someone hits you because they have had time to get off four or five different attacks before you have a chance to respond.

Lag is back but I've also had issues with my ISP so that's probably the problem for me. /shrug

I agree. I wonder why there aren't different servers in different areas like so many other MMOs. ESO has the same number of players as other big games (or it did a year or so ago), so I'm not seeing the need or the benefit in the single megaserver design.

It has definitely gotten worse during the CWC event. More often than not I have to reload a zone to fix the spiky ping. When you enter an area if the ping doesn't snap to 300ish after a few seconds thats it, the game will be unplayable and there is nothing you can do except leave then re-enter, travel to a player or relog. Sometimes it can take multiple attempts before the ping is stable. This can happen anywhere, even in my house, very annoying when trying to run a dungeon or something.

I'm an NZ player on Spark fibre.

I've stopped doing any dungeons or trials due to the lag problems. Now I can't even do any dolmens or world bosses without the game flipping out on me. It's so embarrassing when you are a lvl 800+ character and you are dying on dark anchors in Glenumbra...it's starting to get infuriating.

Since murkmire it's been brutal. Connecting from Canada; used to ping around 100, lately it's around 400 consistently.

I died twice yesterday to the group event boss in Sunhold. Could not even see his attacks.

And last time I was in Cyro I died to an invisible player, then got disconnected twice. Gave up. Next morning I got d/c'd before I even saw a single player fighting at Nikel. And yet the protracted battle at Roebeck soon after that, though running at maybe 3FPS, I didn't d/c. Which was amazing.

Yep still the same for me if not worse.

Trials etc are unplayable. Dodge rolling out of the popcorn and poison circles in vSO first boss is not possible anymore.

Very disappointed in the lack of response from ZO$ - especially when they are still advertising and selling the game here in Australia.

I'm on PC, I'm guessing PS4 and Xbox users are having the same issue...?

^^ 100% agreed, i have stopped playing any group content as its an exercise in frustration for all involved (esp me). I have been an ESO player since beta. I love this game & this community, I will be very sad to leave. I am not one to throw salt but the silence is deafening
