I had a 400 ping a year ago and then went with Mudfish which dropped it to 300-330. The last week, with Mudfish, I am now at 420 again.

I'm not one but I have several friends who play from NZ and haven't been able to PvP and can barely do anything else for weeks now because their ping is insane. Pretty unprofessional that ZoS hasn't bothered to update their playerbase on this issue.

Same for me. I only swapped to mudfish a month or so ago. I had 10-14 days of 270-290ping then last two weeks its been like it was switched off.
Thanks to all those who have dug deep into this issue even though it appears we are well and truly screwed.
If your ping went up by yet again on Friday, I read that apparently there's issues with the SMW3 cable. Again. This means traffic to Asia just took a nose-dive while it's rerouted elsewhere. Unfortunately this causes even more issues for us in Aus due to the use of the Akamai node up there for ESO.

But I somehow don't understand this.
My route is like:
PC to DSL Router 1ms
to DSLAM 21ms (Interleaving)
to provider 8ms
to VPN 9ms
to ESO 1ms
Now while I ping both eso servers I am connected with several times and always get the same result of ~40ms, the client shows my ping bouncing from 80 to 300ms.
Thank you again for the follow up reply. Unfortunately we here in Customer Support do not have any additional information that can be provided as to what you are seeing beyond it being an issue within your ISPs network. This in mind, I would recommend reaching out to your ISP for any additional assistance they could provide as we have exhausted all known troubleshooting at this time.
The ingame latency is always around 30ms higher than pinging the servers for me, but it shouldn't be as high as you're seeing.
Are the results the same if you turn the quality of the game?
