Dark hair on High Elves

Okay, so here I am playing the main story of Summerset(no spoilers!) And a certain some NPC has jet black hair on a High Elf. (Court of Bedlam)
When I played this game, my character on Skyrim was an Altmer with dark hair and I so dearly wanted tore-create that character but all I could make was a grey-mettalic haired thing.
And yet here I see this NPC.
Please give us that dark hair ZoS, that looks amazing.

I agree, would be nice to get hair salons so we can change the colour. And also every colour for every race available.

No reason why they don't offer this cosmetic change, I am sure it would make ZOS money too.
I would love a dark haired option. A hair dye cosmetic pack would be awesome.

Also had the problem with hair styles... originally you couldn't use the 'Short Imperial' hair style on Bosmer, even though male Bosmer NPCs had that hair style! Finally when they gave us the hair style pack I was able to give my male Bosmer that style.

OP I agree, we should be able to have ALL hair color options for every race, except for Argonians and Khajiit as they each have separate colorations.

Yeah I ran into this problem just the other day, I wanted to make a new dark-haired high elf char but the darkest was a kind of muddy brown. So I made a Dark Elf instead, since Wood Elf dudes are so tiny even with the height slider pushed to the max.

ZOS, can we get an answer to this? Don't know if i missed it, but why isn't the Black/Dark hair option available on Altmer?
There must be a reason on why it has not been included in the first place, and why hasn't been included later on.

As has been pointed out before, there are other 'non-collectable' cosmetics that players don't have access to, it's not just dark hair for Altmer.

We can see that there are also Altmer with deep blue eyes (Erwurlde the guild trader in Mournhold), which are designed correctly as Altmer-style eyes and just not available for players. NPCs of other races also have access to unavailable hairstyles (the shade of ginger Trynhild uses is not available for playable Nords). There are also a few skintones that NPCs have that we cant - the one that makes me really salty is the number of green Orcs we see (Mighty Mordra, Captain Graalug, or Brulak to name a few), and yet my playable character can only be grey or brown. He's supposed to be green!

I have a feeling that it's mostly that the PC interface uses the 10x2 color grid, so they cut some colors to keep the grid tidy. But I think Console UI has a slider instead. I'd give up my clean grid for a slider so I could make my Orc green like he's supposed to be..

If I remember correctly it looks like a slider but has only 10 or 12 different skin colors.

They can’t rightfully claim it’s not lore-accurate because other Elder Scrolls games had black haired Altmer.

Yeah, it's the same 20 colors for each we have on PC. My point was that a slider makes it so that if they wanted to add more, they could without redesigning the UI. If they went to give us a 21st color (or 25th, or 37th) on PC UI, we'd need a different element.

Not that I think that's likely. I'll just have to sit and imagine my Orc's biceps greener than they are

This was my first letdown when I bought the game many years ago.

Then I was let down by how hard it is to make a handsome male Altmer.

Other popular MMOs have had character upgrades/ revamps, but ESO is stuck looking like the oldest game when it comes to character creation.

I love so many things about ESO. I'd rank character creation as the worst among all the MMOs I play.

You can make something hideous so fast (looking at you, Bastian), but trying to make a decent looking male of any race is rough. Not impossible, but it takes patience, skills, and maybe a few rounds of cash shop purchases to re-do the character because they never look the same in game as they do in the character creator.

Black Desert Online spoiled me. All character creation re-dos are unlimited as part of the subscription.
ESO is a better game overall, but it really could use some graphical upgrades and more hair color options. Improved hair textures as well. I'm not incentivized to buy a hair style if hair textures look bad in ESO.

A complete rehaul of the character appearance/cosmetic customization system is due, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

There is 10+ years of dust and spaghetti covering everything and untangling it would probably be a big job, not to mention it would likely impact monetization and things already purchased.

Please let us buy a bunch of hair colors. We can switch between them like we do with hairstyles.

I was disappointed when I made my Nord DK that I couldn't give him black hair. Definitely in favor of expanding the hair colors and styles available.

I would love to have an overhaul of the character creation that would allow far more options, or having the ability to change your looks in game, using styles/whatever you can find in game world (such as a process on how to dye hair black and make it look natural, something like that)

Wow has one too. You can change everything down to gender. They got rid of their appearance change service a number of years ago.

I'd at least like to be able to change my hair color. Heck I'd even pay a few crowns for it, like in GW2. I just don't always want to buy a full appearance change just to change hair color.

Years ago, I wanted to turn my Khajiit vampire (white fur with black hair) into Altmer... But he must have black hair, and Altmer can't have it - so my character is still Khajiit

I would also love if we could simply use all our unlocked dyes on hair of our characters. Perfect customization!

Clearly these npc's dye their hair and ZOS haven't added them in game
