Crown only housing

Sigh, ZOS, let me just say that I spent many, many hours doing difficult math to earn my finance and economics degree, and while I am not purporting to be able to balance the national deficit, there are some minor truths that I can offer insight on. One being: I SWEAR TO GOD YOU WOULD MAKE MORE MONEY IF YOU CHARGED LESS FOR SPECIALTY HOUSES.

What is the point of setting prices so that players only buy one crown house ever?? Since only that player can visit all of their properties, why not encourage them to own more by charging a reasonable price? I’m not sure what I’d define as “reasonable,” but 16k crowns...which you value at something like $150...is a bit excessive.

This doesn’t seem like an overly complex principle. Reduce prices, and drive up demand.

But they don't, that's exactly why this continues. You may have a nice finance and economics but sadly the marketing folk have been doing their research and studies as well and discovered this makes money, and more money.

Feels like the direction of the game is going towards creating content for the 1% of the playerbase that contributes towards what's probably 50% of the Crown store purchases.

Pretty much this. Until the suckers and idiots quit spending hundreds and thousands of their dollars on ugly, gaudy, mounts out of gamble boxes and stop buying the hundred dollar homes every time they get released they will continue to gear everything towards those players because it generates the most profit. I actually wouldn't have a problem with any of this but it doesn't feel like they are investing these profits back into the game at all. Performance on my platform is absolute **** and bugs run rampant to the point where many of us can't even get responses in the bug threads and ESO support is useless. They should use some of this revenue to hire developers and teams who's sole purpose is to look back on old content and code and fix it while still having enough people to create the new content. They clearly lack either the capability or the desire to make the game better but you can bet your ass that they don't lack the funds to do it. All you need to do is take a look at the price of some of these homes. And you can't say "well just because the price is that high doesn't mean people are buying them" because that EXACTLY what that means if the homes continue to stay at the that price.

Perhaps, but there's quite a few 'suckers & idiots' paying $180 per year subscribing as well as purchasing the big addons for $50 and other bits and pieces. I can understand why people don't like something like this not being earned in game. Part of the fun of a game like Skyrim is that you pay for the game and then you earn your accomplishments in that game, and not while you're cold calling or hammering nails or performing surgery in real life.

Don't give them solid marketing advice! Let them starve on finances so their forced to grind out more content. Don't you know how economics work?
