Which morph of eclipse to people generally prefer?
Neither.
The other 3 classes have much better cc's and it's not close.
Wut you don't like burst?
Plus stick it on a fotm sorc and laugh, esp in PTS where it's unbreakable.
Anyway, I like it with Backlash and SA for a nice pop goes the weasel.

Total Dark is situational at best. It's worthless against 75% of classes if the opposing player has at least half a brain. It will be overpowered against magic nightblades. Magic sorcs can still use curse and crushing shock as neither are considered projectiles
Unstable core is the poor man's version of curse.
The only times SA is viable is in an Xv1 situation, fighting/dueling a potato, or a gank attempt.

Structured Entropy and then Radiant if they are sub 50 percent. SE will give you a 20% empowerment to Radiant.
If they are one of those pesky Vigor spamming guys who constantly keep ticking back above 50% a good old destro heavy attack coupled with a damage health poison usually does a good job of stopping their health gains and then it's back to the first one. SE and then Radiant.
If you're in a fair fight both at 100% I enjoy soul assault (or meteor if line of site might be a problem) followed by ... you guessed it ... SE and Radiant.
Otherwise just spam pokey sticks.
In truth, of my 10 standard "attacks" 7 of them are defensive abilities. You only need one or two ways of attacking to fry 95% of people. Don't over complicate things.
Doesn't empower not work on DoTs (ie. radiant, sweeps, etc)? Haven't tested myself but heard that was the general consensus from those who did test.
Empower works just fine with Radiant.
Why are opinions on magicka templars so divergent? Why do people have such different experiences while playing a templar? It can't be that someone writes templars are OP and others complain that they are constantly being nerfed, not being so great to begin with. The developers seem to agree they are way too powerful, hence the nerfs. But developers are expert players, one would expect. So one would tend to think that only very skilled players + the developers can efficiently play a templar. I think this is the problem. Make templars a fun class, like the others! Give us something! I never heard of any magicka sorcerer complaining about having no damage or no resources or dying too fast in PvP (while templars complain of all of those at once!). It shouldn't be so hard to have a magicka templar.

- Magplars are the easiest class to learn with but the hardest to master because they offer so many potential ways to go. You can create many wildly different types of Magplars.
- I was wrong about the empowering. I corrected this somewhere else, but here is what happened. You are correct that you cannot empower radiant. What I was doing was casting structured entropy to empower it (incorrectly) but the SE was raising my spell power 20% which then made Radiant hit harder. I miscalculated that as the empowerment. So, yes, I was wrong but what I was advocating does work. Just not how I originally thought.
Mistakes happen.

The fact that magplars still start executing at 50% tilts me.

But so does Reverse Slice. And they have the exact same curve according to ZoS. Remember that you don't get the 300% until you are at 1% HP.
So while RD and Reverse slice start getting a small bonus at 50%, they don't reach full bonus until 1%. Other executes get the full bonus immediately at hitting 20-25% health.
I won't debate what skills are better, but people who say "execute starts at 50%" typically leave out that the bonus is terrible at 50%, lol.
leepalmer95 wrote: »Maybe, but reverse slice is melee ranged and dodgeable. It doesn't scale of an extra cp either.
Beam is around 41m (in pvp) undodgable and scales off 2 cp. The whole executing before people are actually at execution hp annoys me so much.

Also in regards to Radiant Destruction keep this in mind.
Next patch our resources are going to be more pressured. Overall, our magicka pools are probably going to be lower (aka more drained) because of that.
This is one of the ways Beam scales: "Also deals up to 20% more damage in proportion to your current Magicka."
Draw your own conclusions from that...
EDIT: At this point I just wish they would completely rework Radiant.
