Why so much hate for NBs?

NB, broken hidden, any thing can unstealth you, I vanish and Radiant Destruction stills doing damage to me.

Where is the common sense to this ZEN?

A lot of players complained about the nightblade, saying it was too OP, then it got the nerf hammer. It's baffling that other classes are justifiably playing their roles, and doing damage at the same time, yet the nightblade underperforms with their signature ability.

Because nightblades are annoying. I don't think there is a more annoying class to go against. (Maybe mag dk with root spam) new and bad players also don't know how to fight against nightblades and instead of realizing that they just need become more skillful they say the nightblade class is op.

The only time I ever had an issue with NBs was when shieldbreaker came out and I was farming trophies in IC. My class is mostly the counter to NBs so the most common feeling I experience about them is pity. They're sooo squishy, I can't see why anyone would have an issue with them, except maybe the builds that get countered by NBs. People forget that this game is still mostly rock/paper/scissors.

Nightblades are a lot like Uppercut. Hits hard, but mainly effective against bad players. And they just got their burst nerfed without buffing any of their weaknesses.

I would really like to see them competitive in both PvE, and PvP outside of ganking.

Because they either oneshot you or run away.
You just can't have a proper fight with them.
And I think their ganking makes people all the more willing to ball up.

NB who one shot you, are using something. They one shot me also, come out of stealth 2 heavy with 3 abilities in less then a sec.

They blame lag, but that is just BS.

Yeah, the problem is that you don't get pulled out of stealth for winding up heavies and certain skills. And that you can combine certain windups.
WB+Heavy+Execute all hit in one second. Snipe+Heavy+Injection, too.

The archetype itself is problematic. Stealth/burst is just a balancing nightmare, especially when you need to consider PVE sustained damage and in a game where everyone has access to all weapon/armor types.

I remember talking about this during PC beta, and it's gone about how I expected. They're either going to be really bad at everything else or way too good at ganking.

They just need pressure. They should gain benefits from attacking and should have an easier time maintaining that momentum. Stealth should make that possible.

But ZOS don't want that. When they were on live in Cyrodiil, they LAUGHED being stealthkilled. Tells me NBs are working as intended, not working as is best for the gameplay.

You just cant get a proper fight with them, because ESO has pigeon holed them into a surprise ganking class with all the nerfs to our sustained DPS without giving us more survivability. Unless you want to be a freaking tank build, but why be a nightblade if you have to be a tank to fight someone out of stealth, why not then just role a Templar or DK?

Its not the players fault its ZEN's

It's too many stealth counters and warning in this game for ganking to be viable. The only players who can be ganked are bad players and players who aren't paying attention. You can't even run away from good players because everyone knows how to counter cloak. I do think nightblades are competitive in PvP though. I found that I had to play my stamblade the same way I play my magblade I don't even use cloak I use shadow image instead and I front bar relentless focus.

Sadly the one-shot kills and proc sets make stamina build nightblades a pain in the ***

But the nerfs to NB in general has really hurt the magicka variant. Still able to play but melee magblade is both squishy and hits like a wet noodle.

    thank you for that

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

The stealth ninja class always get the hate.
But I think the players hate the proc sets ganking NB. It takes 0 skills.
Before the proc set we had also ganking builds, but they resolve around build and pressing skills.

I'm playing a nightblade myself without proc sets and I also hate to see my death recap with 2 skills and 3 procsets damage.

But people hate to hate. They can't beat a NB because he used cloak 3 times and got away and they are playing heavy armor build class that has a different playstyle and get kill them.

WB+Heavy doesn't hit in one second neither does Snipe+Heavy. Why? Because you can't animation cancel skills with a cast time. I thought everyone knew that.

Wise man, I literally said in that very post that you can wind them up in stealth. So WB+Heavy are being prepared, along empower and buff, hit you and then only the global cooldown keeps you from hitting execute immediately, so a second. Could even squeeze in a light attack. Please read before you lecture people.

    @bigmamajama
Stamblades have very good sustained dps and thanks to being stamina, they can combine it fluidly with defense by dodgeroll cancelling. People just gank because it's easy and it does a lotta damage.
Magblades are somewhat difficult in open duels, I give them that. But with their synergy with heavy armor and EotS, they have strengths they can play around. Note, heavy armor for an offensive build, not tank. It's not easy, but viable.

You don't get pulled out of stealth while winding up the skill, i never said the opposite. As soon as your heavy or WB hits you're out of stealth. And WB can't hit at the same time as a heavy attack because both have wind ups.
A heavy attack has a 2 sec wind up time. A WB has a 1.1 sec cast time time. Charge your heavy attack while in stealth > your heavy attacks hits > you're out of stealth casting WB for 1.1 sec > light attack + execute.
A heavy attack has a 2 sec wind up time. A Snipe has a 1.1 sec cast time. Charge your heavy attack while in stealth > your heavy attack > you're out of stealth casting Snipe for 1.1 sec > light attack poison injection.
You can't wind up 2 attacks that both have a cast time, have then hit and stay in stealth for the whole duration. The combos you listed exist, but there is no heavy attack before the WB or the Snipe.
Please inform yourself before telling me not to lecture you.

I'm saying Stamblades deal a lot of damage fast and can do so while simultaneously defending. Play those cards right and you have a competent open world class.
Can it compete with stamsorcs? No. Not at all.
But that is not my point. My point is being oneshot without any window for counterplay is frustrating.

Izaki, you can wind up your heavy while WB is being cast. Start WB, charge your heavy, they'll hit simultaneously.

To many anti stealth abilites, this just BS.

NB a fn step child, of ESO.

    I have to nerf my self and wear gear to get past shields for Sorc;

I have to spend Champ pts to debuff healing for temps.

    Cant do *** with reflect.

BUT, People can get 1 skill, and unstealth us.

    /golf clap ZEN.

    Great common sense.

I want a skill, to prevent someone from casting, Reflect, or heal, or Shields for 3s also.

I agree, is ridiculous how easy is to unstealth NB.

The skill really deserve be a little more "special", because it's THE signature move for NBs
