    My missed books after U44:

Is there a known post-location quest for either of these yet? Both are supposedly found in your inventory. I swear I checked my quest items multiple times during every one of these quests and still managed to miss two :D

    Companions Correspondence
    -Bogcup's Letter from Hyacinth
    -Tanlorin's Bird Note
    Silvanus the Gilded
    Merchant, Scholar, and Benefactor

    Hello,

    Thanks

It is not fun having to open your quest bag every step of these quests to make sure you aren't missing a page that they snuck in there and never tell you about until it's too late, let alone even remembering tat you need to do that.

    It’s ridiculously immersion breaking.

    this message is to ZOS.
isn't this the whole point of making new lore/stories? I just finished Tanlorin's whole story quests in one go because i like to immerse myself to the stories. i enjoyed myself and took my time and always remember to check around, only to find that i have missed a few lorebooks anyway. it just felt incomplete. being full alert of keeping track of lorebooks ruins the flow and enjoyment of doing quests. and sadly my brain cant do both, being alert and being immersed

i know this is just venting and doesnt add any help or value to other players but yeah..

    Tanlorin Quest LIne Books:

    I'm missing:

Tanlorin's Bird Note - Never appeared as a quest item after she "gave it" to me.
Snapdragon's Burnt Notes - Missed it in the cottage despite being sure to throughly search everywhere.

Weirdly, the only post-quest location for their books is "A Strike on Alinor" which is at the bottom of the stairs in the last quest location, post-ending.

    -Tanlorin's Bird Note

Bogcup's Letter from Hyacinth appeared as a quest item for me. That said, I am also missing a couple of books - one from a location I swear I seacrhed thoroughly and is still available post-quest but no book, and the other is the Bird Note, and I know I checked if it showed as a quest item.

Tanlorin's Bird Note only appears after you talk to her after interacting with the illusory bird, otherwiseyou miss it completely.

    As a side note:
Somtimes questitems were not shown in my questitem-inventar. I play on pc and with add-on's, so it may be an add-on, that causes this. I don't know.
Observed this when i play with a formerly selected part of the inventar, and/or switched or turned on/off a companion.
Sometimes the questitems are not shown then. Have to switch inventar to "all" or, in somes cases, relog or reloadui.

Would be interesting, if this happens to people an console, too. So that i can exclude add-on's for this behavior.

Completed both Tanlorin and Zeriths' quest lines:

    Missing From Tanlorin:
Invitation from the Gardener - Never received
Snapdragon's Burnt Notes - Was not present in cottage, nor is it post-quest even though cottage still accessible
Tanlorin's Bird Note - Never received

    Missing From Zerith-Var:
Letter to Zerith-Var - Never received

Inconsistency: The start/end location for Tanlorin doesn't seem to have any books post-quest, whereas Zerith-Var's start/end location appears to have them all, except Letter to Zerith-Var, but does include "Inventory Letter" which is a bugged book that appears as part of the start quest but doesn't have an entry in Lorebooks.

Letter TO Zerith-Var is in your inventory starting his final quest iirc. That or the third quest.

I'm honestly tired of all of this.

After 10 years it's incredible that we can still miss books during quests and, worse, that there is no post-quest locations, even after Gina said that, after Firesong update, this wasn't going to happen ever again.

    Nothing changed, still happening.

That is Letter from Zerith-Var. There is a seperate Letter to. I also constantly checked quest items, which is why I said I never received it.

At this point, I don't know how ZOS can fix Letter TO Zerith-Var. Same thing with all the other letters put in our inventories during these two new companions quests.

Will ZOS check this thread and check the quests and put EVERY SINGLE ONE one those letters (some players may miss different letters, so ZOS should have to put ALL OF THEM just in case) on a bench or anywhere?

If so, and mark my words, it will take years.

All lorebooks that are quest locked should have a post-quest location - as per ZOS' own stated policy and common sense.

Unfortunately that's not the case, since a loooooooot of books are still bugged, from before and from after Gina's comment.

Also, Letter TO Zerith-Va is the clear proof of it.

What gets me roaring is the set pieces that I know I already collected is needing recollected. I have spent hours running these dungeons only to have to go back and run them again. Maybe it is on purpose to get me back into those dungeons... IDK!

Gabriel, from what you say above about Tanlorin's books and your previous statement "All lorebooks that are quest locked should have a post-quest location - as per ZOS' own stated policy and common sense."... again, that statement is not happening, regardless common sense and stated policy.

It wasn't a statement of fact, but a statement of ZOS' own policy that they are failing to uphold. You are misconstruing the inflection.
