Nbs need a slight buff

I've said this countless times before mag nb is at the lower end of the spectrum of all classes probably on the same level as a mag dk especially due to this annoying tank and impen meta. To do acceptable damage as a dw magic nb you need crit and with how strong impen is and uncritable shields most of my damage is negated, sure I do well against pugs but against decent players who run 2k+ crit resist I might as well be using magic dk noodle whips.

Reading back on this thread the only reason, assuming the date, people disagreed on giving nb a buff was because they had proxy and vicious death, even proxy alone without vd was great on a mag nb but now the only actual dps mag nb rely on are their ulti, concealed weapon lotus fan and cripple. The increase to the cost of skills aren't helpful either as I waste magic casting cloak only to be taken out of it due to dots, gap closers and annoying wrecking blows. Sure destro resto nb is good but I don't want to be pigeon holed into a swallow soul spam playstyle.

However the only thing going for this class is how fun And how versatile you can be , shadow image, siphoning attacks, access to the best cc in the game (fear and concealed from stealth).

But right now the biggest priority for magic nb is a fix for cloak and I would gladly take this. I don't want to turn this into a nerf stam classes but zos need to address the growing rift between stam classes and magic classes.

Just get cloak fixed and MagBlade will be able to compete again. Magblades are, imo anyway, the following:
It'll take A LOT of practise to be good at 1vX as a magblade, it takes even more practise to utilise its entire spectre of utility the class has. Once that's done, I'm pretty sure you'll find Magblades rewarding

@Lieblingsjunge I am finding it rewarding right now I'm getting decent 1vxs, but when I look at my stam nb and my magic templar I know how much easier it would be and the people who i die to in duels as a mag nb i can easily take them on my mag plar, stam nb, stam dk and magic sorc. Don't get it twisted though magic nb is really nice in groups one of the greatest ultimates you need when you want to coordinate ulti is without a doubt soul tether.

Right now on this new build I have 20k+ resistances 44k Max magic 25k health 2.5k spell damage 3.5 fully buffed, 46% crit chance 2k+ impen 1.7k recovery 8% reduce cost on my back bar with the shadow mundus.(If i replicate this on my mag templar i know for sure the results would be soo much better. )The damage is insane but with how unstable cloak is its annoying as hell don't forget how tanky everyone else is with heavy armor and malubeth dual wield mag blades are at a disadvantage.

I think mag nb is on par with the other sub par classes. If they figure out a way to tone down the OPness of cetrain builds (uknowhich) you will probably come to the same conclusion.
Best ones ive seen recently are destro/resto. Shadow image/dampen magika. The shield gets upward of 12k.


Kinda sucks because i just spent 500k getting and golding out a lich/julianos set for mine.

Nah destro resto nb is alright tbh unless youre fighting someone with reflects, lich is alright but trust me seducers is way better.

Na, lich is way better. Seducers good, but you can stack WD and max stat easier with lich.

@Lokey0024 if you run shields which i assume you do yeah its better but my mag blade doesnt use harness or dampen so i prefer seducers sincei can use impen and it really helps especially in duels. Lich is nice and all but after trying it, it's a bit overrated. Whats WD btw? Weapon damage lol? And apart from the 5th bonus seducers and lich is the same btw. I have the same stats on my seducers as I do on my lich apart from the lich proc everything is the same but I have more impen and resistances.

I think lich is a little better because I can run the shadow mundus and I can still keep my 5 peices of Julianos. With seducer I have to run the recovery mundus to sustain. so I lose out on a lot of damage. 5 seducer 4 mangus was good but I wasn't hitting as hard as i would've liked too. What I been finding is if you don't have lich it's better to run destro/restro because it has better burst with heavy attacks and good sustain

Honestly my main is a v16 templar, and I've had an easier time escaping enemy players with my level 21 nightblade.

blur - doesn't work as good as shuffle (stamina wins)
shades - stam players can use it too but it's usage is very difficult because if you get cc'd while falling you can't break cc or teleport back to shade unless you hit the ground first.
aspect of terror/fear - best cc in game but doesn't make NB instantly OP just because we can cc, our dmg in pvp is not that great
it's not enough dmg to kill someone during the 5-10second period of them being cc'd especially with all the hots (or shields) in cyro right now.

consuming darkness/veil of blades - prior to thieves guild patch, standing in my veil would kill you, current patch, people stand in my veil all the time & don't die, i dont even understand this...

WD meant spell damage enchants on jewlery. I run dw julianos /lich and it packs the umph. But the best comes from destro / resto.4 pc shadow dancer/elegant with lich. Alot of magika. I found you can get around 45k magika on a NB. Hits reaaaal hard. Stacks easier then spell dmg.

I love magic nightblade and what I've found to work on my dark elf is 4 elf bane , 1 kena 3 viscous death (2 body 1 destro/resto) will power jewelry. Kena needs to be heavy. Without any undaunted I'm at 40k max magic with tri purple food and with power enchant on destro fully buff I'm at 3700 spell damage and 23k health 14k stam. It's really fun and powerful and with heavy attacks along with siphoning attacks sustain is no issue.

Your the second guy I've seen recently with this combo of Elf Bane heavy and VD light....but no 5 piece bonus. I take it that the kena piece is heavy? I take it your just running VD because you can get it easily?

So what are your bars and typical attack combos? Also what are your resistances if you don't mind me asking?

If you use restro staff on back bar that alone is pretty good, but put that with cloak, mass hysteria, harness magicka, and shadow image oh man. I switched to magicka because of the defense. But honestly in a 1vx situation with players who know what they are doing your best option is to dip. Not saying you cant win (I know 1vx can be done) but the fight is not in your favor.

With 40k magicka and over 3k spell damage you will hit pretty hard. Yes kena needs to be heavy to make a full 5 piece of heavy. Heavy restore attack really gives a lot of resources as well as heavy destro. Honestly 5 heavy really works a lot better on destro resto build then dual wield.

So basically my destro bar as of now is merciless resolve, cloak, swallow soul, degeneration , concealed weapon

Resto bar is harness, healing ward , mirage, crippling grasp , summon shade

I use soul tether and meteor as my cc since I'm tanky and also since I get more spell damage once I take damage I don't run a cc on my bars. I take some damage and with ultimate gains being so good on Magic nightblade I also have my ultimate up which is my main cc


If you want to rub cc I would recommend agony morph which is prolonged suffering.. I like it better then fear . You can run piercing Mark instead of merciless resolve

Buffed I'm over 20k resistances that's with all impen so if you run reinforced on a couple of heavy pieces you can really boost that up
