What's the plan to get Cyrodiil back up to 100sVS100s with no lag, like pre 1.6?

Is the plan to carrot lead us until small scale PvP arrives and kills Cyrodiil and then turn Cyrodiil into a PvE zone?

You can not say that, because at first you need the "data" of the european server, than you can speculate.
The 64-bit system has his problems, may they get solved, than direct x 2o gets on.
My experiance in MMO with PvP contents are always the same. This means, if the servers are old and bought in as such one, you can wait and wait like a cow who gives milk by that, day for day.
The end of such szenaroios is also always the same, you wait, you pay and before they get up and refresh the european server with more power, they say, you have to change to the usa server. It is always the same.

100v100 without lag was most certainly not the case pre 1.6. In fact, pre 1.6 the entire game would often lock up for everybody participating in a large fight for more than 10 minutes at a time. In those 10 minutes, no skills would ever go through until the server caught up and everything hit at the same moment. While Cyrodiil is certainly still performing crappy, at least these ridiculously long lag spikes have been fixed.

I remember huge battles that worked pretty well for most part.

The question implies that the devs either have a clue or care or even read these forums. I check in every once and a while to see if they fixed Cyrodiil. Looks like they haven't. See you in 6 months.

Here's a thought, shift movement calculations back to client-side and just perma-ban anyone who is caught speed hacking.

Pretty sure the speed hacks still work so there's really nothing to lose, some bots I suppose but we'd live.

Pretty sure they don't. Haven't seen anyone zooming around Cyrodiil with insane speed since ... June 2014? For reference, this is how it looked like: https://www.twitch.tv/archon210/v/48482722

Thank you ZOS for the FPS fix! PvP tonight on Haderus was the most enjoyable PvP I have experienced in as long as I can remember. My FPS was above 20 the whole night and even was above 40; it seriously felt like I bought a brand new gaming machine.

Battles that Tuesday night were dropping me to 4 fps, tonight were only dropping me to 18 to 25, which is a huge improvement. Right after the battle would end, fps would shoot back up to 45+ instead of staying at 8 to 10.

I can confirm it is getting better, but it's still not great. However, the improvement is very much appreciated and is definitely allowing me to enjoy large-scale battles more. Please keep doing what you're doing, hopefully someday soon we will be (mostly) lag free!

The lag was so unbearable during the EP dethrone on TF last night that a group my guild had running just left the server altogether. I haven't noticed any improvement to latency/lag when their big battles.

I was getting like 20-25fps during the lag, but it FELT like 5-10 the way skills responded and all the rubberbanding. FPS is like, 10% of the issue.

How big was your group ? I was in a small 3 man KungFu group . I notice when I'm in large groups I lag no matter what settings .

That's just weird . I wonder why I was getting great FPS during that fight and others weren't . Do you run tactical add ons ?

Edit to add My ping spiked a few time but my FPS didn't bottom out like it normally does . What was your frames per second , not ping ? Do you remember ?

No VE raid on Sundays or Wednesdays, we'll report back here after tonight's shenanigans.

ETA: FPS is most definitely better, my 980 feels like a 980 again. Latency still sucks, but it's also been nothing but emp dethrones come prime time. Overall I'd say we're heading in the right direction, still a long way to go though. FPS was never my issue with Cyrodiil.

I don't think I dropped below 20FPS, probably hung around 25FPS for most of the big fight. I never really have FPS issues though (GTX970, i7-4970k). Framerate wise it normally relatively smooth.

Like Chaos said we didn't have a group up last night but we have noticed a bit of an improvement over the last week or so.
