@SleepyTroll you do have a point here; in that the only literal information contained in the poll responses is that "X people stated they play nightblades".

@Cathexis if you want to have a poll that indicates something more than "X people said X" i.e. you want to begin to draw conclusions, then you need to have a representative sample. IF you are hoping to get some indication of what class (or classes) would be favored (or discounted) by the forum, AND you want to provide acceptable data, then each member of the sample (i.e. the people who play characters in ESO) would have to have an equal chance of being chosen. This sample inherently fails on two counts.

First, of the total number of players of ESO, not all are represented on this forum. They are self-selected, in that in order to participate here, they needed to take action.

Second, the number of people responding to this thread is also a self selected group. People who have strong feelings about nightblades (positive or negative) might be drawn to answer it, or ignore it just on the basis of the title. As well, people with strong feelings about polls might answer or avoid answering, just on that basis.

Nothing in your poll actually leads to this conclusion, since you do not address 1-if the respondents like or dislike the class, 2-if the respondents like or dislike cloak. For that matter not every nightblade uses every nightblade skill.

If you want to draw conclusions about opinions on nightblades, you might consider asking in more detail, and constructing your questions (and poll/post title) to overtly address bias. After all, bias is pretty unavoidable, and it's only a problem when it's not being addressed (one way or another).

Just because it indicates that nightblades represent a larger than average forum presence, all of a sudden they all get up in arms!

If the poll came back that nightblades were underrepresented, I would be advocating the opposing point -- but it didn't; it clearly shows they are over-represented.

I personally have seen more sorcs and templars in both vet and non-vet PvP as of late than NBs; though I will not deny there are quite a few NBs. then again you seem to be only counting forum people.

NBs can do well against templars due to superior mobility and heal debuffs

For anyone else wanting to make a poll with absolutely zero credibility here's a couple of hints:

Rephrase the title/question posed whenever you want,. it doesn't matter if people have already voted on the original question.

Include an option for voters to agree with your heavilly biased and firmly entrenched opinions, our OP gives an excellent example here., 'No, nightblades are scum'. Ensure you don't slip up and give an opposing choice along the lines of 'Yes, nightblades are challenging', this would be seen as a loaded term and would count against you when you wish to use the data to further support said biased/entrenched opinion.

Do anything you want with the actual data, no-one cares anyway

Really lol? Completing Kill Enemy Nightblades is the same as doing Kill Enemy Players for me. Cyrodiil is like 80% NB's. Only exception is organized raids(trains) with specific class&skill set up for max AP farm.

But that doesn't mean NB OP. It means that NB's are fun to play. Means ZoS did something right with 1/4 classes. Also being the only class that works well for solo roaming right now, makes it even more popular, because everyone needs that kind of freedom.

Meawhile Zos made other classes "less fun" to play due to multiple specific class nerfs and blanket nerfs, ruining core defences for DK's and templars mainly. While not giving them anything in return. Also lost whatever archetype vibe they had going for them.

It's up to ZoS to make other classes more fun again. They wont do that by nerfing or messing with NB's tho.Than they have 4 "less fun" to play classes.

I still remember when the NB was utterly useless, both in PvP and PvE. The class is finally decent, and people want to start nerfing it:( it seems a 2.9 second cloak is of more concern than other more pressing issues.

OK i will? Obviously that last one was a joke answer. Clearly it is just an alternative no option. Do you honestly believe that it has a baring on replies? IF anything it just represents the subcategory of players who hate nightblades.

Honestly the amount of protest my relatively unbiased poll has gotten compared to the support that absolute bullshjt nerf cloak poll got is really telling about the state of the forums.

I used to main as a NB, until all this bull poop about them being OP, so instead I am playing my other characters now (particularly my templar) so that when I melt someone, they can't cry about how the only reason I won was because I was a NB.

My main has been a NB since launch and it was really hard to rank her up but challenging and satisfying.
Heavy armour, dual wield but tons of fun to play.
Still my fave Toon and most played.

I find them a bit OP for PvE and open PvP. I play my Templar as main because it's the most versatile I.e can tank, heal/tank, heal and DPS for dungeons etc and it offers more to a PvP group.

I do like the class but the fact that you get all that bonus damage from Cloak is ridiculously OP. If they brought down the damage all players get from stealth I think it would really balance the game out and maybe force me to play the class in a more interesting and intuitive way. Instead of the cookie cutter stacked weapon damage build which is just too powerful not to use since 1.6.

Poll is hardly indicative of any realistic usage of NB class.

These forums only account for a small percentile of the total gaming masses.

I'm currently too stuck in kitting out my tank Dragonknight and rarely have enough time to even do that! My character list is in order of creation so I did try NB a long time ago...

I'm ganked enough in pvp by NBs to want to try it out myself properly, most likely a new NB solely designed for PvP. But that would require more of my precious time!

Im not a NB( have one but not the ganky type). But Sorcs, and DKs can do this to...

DK: charged heavy attack followed by Silver Leash, followed by Silver Leash.(camo hunter and molten)

Sorc: Snipe/lethal arrow, charge heavy fallowed by Silver Leash(Snipe plus these will hit at the exact same time), followed by Silver Leash.(camo hunter proc)

Templar could probably do this to. Just saying.

Any stamina build could do this, as well as magicka sorc and any magicka build in stealth. People get ganked by all kinds of builds all the time. They just remember the Nightblades because there's a circle jerk against them.

Yea but i have chars from every class so your argument might not work well. I mainly play with sorc because it is the op one if you ask me. But i do like to play with my nightblade becuase it is fun aswell.

I play my nightblade for a few hours a day. Level 39 terrorizing people in Haderus IC on PC/NA. Lusty Argonian Tank. 115CP.

Bar 1: Invasion, Cripple, Swallow Soul, Refreshing Path, Mark Target, Veil of Blades
Bar 2: Lotus Fan, Blood Craze, Swallow Soul, Agony (will probably switch to shade once it's unlocked), Killer's Blade, Death Stoke (Soul Siphon if running with another player).

Notice the lack of cloak. I've dumpstered many a V16s more often than not, and even when I run across the odd 500 CP+ PVP ganker, I'm not an easy take down. Her major weakness right now is Major Defile, that will be mitigated once I'm around V15 with her by virtue of having somewhere in the realm of 1800-1900 health regen, 2550 when I reach my optimum build and 3800 under peak conditions, on top of my potions having a 18 second cooldown..

She's in a unique position. Nerf cloak? Don't care, don't use it. Nerf fear? Don't care, don't use it. Nerf WB and Steel Tornado? Don't care, don't use it. The only thing she will ever receive in the future is buffs.

Why do people try to run polls on forums? It's not going to prove anything other than a small percent of players use the forums.

Polls on forums only have the chance of reaching a small percentage of the player base because the majority don't use the forums to begin with. Then you have it in the PvP Combat & Skills section which would likely be an even smaller percentage of the forum user base because the majority of the player base would be PvE players. So you end up with a poll that effectively tells you that some people decided to open your thread in a PvP forum, sign in and click a button.

Results of this poll are really just troll bait... and I posted so it worked.
