How long will ZOS let Dawnbreaker exploiting run rampant?

    This cannot be overstated.

    I wouldnt mind them not bothering to fix them for 6 months at a time if they actually used those six months for more than a 5 gb patch I am forced to install to better my experience when the prophet's voice is desynced from his character.

    If they fixed things like CP system imbalance, addressing core issues instead of "Lets -50% to everything", actually thought about things "Lets make cloak impossible to be seen through without steelnado 12m spam or another NB marking them". If they actually made resource management a thing, yet CP drastically improves management as if it wasnt easy enough. If they made classes have viable skills instead of a set of like 7-9 good skills that every copypasta cookie cutter build runs. I cant say much because I run a fotm sorc exploiting everything possible, but I wish classes like sorc had morph choices, actual decisions. As it is now there is no reason to run anything else on a sorc besides what people run. DK if you aint blocking you aint rockin. Templar is pigeon holed into 1-800-JABS.

    Is the exploit in question the first tick of the ultimate happening at the same time you use the ultimate? Or is something else messed up with the skill itself?
    Because the first point is just a bug which needs to be patched (I don't think it is dependent on what the player does other than using the ultimate, so it could be classified as a "broken mechanic" or whatever it is ZoS calls things so that players don't get banned).

    Other than that I don't think the use of the skill will go down. Other than people playing a NB, it is the best ultimate for its cost to do burst damage.

    That first tick comes to fast for sure. They will prolly adjust that eventually. But I kind of appreciate this new meta, after getting killed 10000 times by Meteor fall dmg.

    At least you can mitigate and counter Dawnbreaker with the normal stuff. It's magic dmg, so you can nirn stack, shield stack and use CP, to prevent getting 1 shot as vamp.

    But how to mitigate 50-70k consistent fall dmg from Shooting Star lol? Only perma block with reflect up? Dawnbreaker dmg is milkdrinker compared to that.

    well, personally I have a hard time calling the straight up use of an ability an "exploit".

    That said, dawnbreaker of smiting is currently clearly bugged, and needs fixing

    Isn't The definition of "exploit" the abuse of a game mechanic that has an unintended or bugged effect?

    By that standard, flat out using a bugged ability is an exploit. Sadly, this is usually tolerated in this game.

    Was I not supposed to use fire trebs because the first DoT ticked immediately? It is the only tool in the game designed to counter enemy siege weapons on top of castle ramparts.

    How exactly is the use of nirn supposed to be police and not tolerated?

    A DK without flame lash in the 1.6 environment where it's burst or die?

    It is ZoS's responsibility to provide us with a functioning and balanced game. Not my responsibility to run a gimped build and compete against the many players who do not measure up to your standards of what is good sportsmanship.

    The point is not that people use Dawnbreaker. The point is that a large part of the ESO player base starts using Dawnbreaker purely because it's broken.

    A forum full of people demanding bug X or Y fixed, but a game full of people lining up to exploit said bugs.

    Didn't vote because I'm not sure what exploit you mean. I can't keep up with all those. Often I feel like probably half of the players in Cyrodiil are intentionally exploiting in some way, with whatever broken/buggy skill.

    And if something isn't broken or bugged, people will still come on the forums to cry..
    Disabling the grass may improve performance.

    I think ZoS fixes bugs just slightly faster than they release DLC.

    The best part of this is Cyrodiil veterans coming here to defend exploits like Dawnbreaker. Either they have no clue that it's broken, or they are so used to exploiting bugs that it's just a normal part of the game for them. In case of the latter, this is probably as much ZOS' fault as it is their own.

    You cannot teach a child what is good and bad without and kind of reward for doing good and punishment for doing bad. In the case of ESO, you get punished for doing 'good' and rewarded for doing 'bad'.

I feel soo exhausted from complaints about this kind of thing though.     No offense but you use bugged skills daily aswell : teleport strike & concealed weapon. Both which had been said by ZOS is not working as intended. And all the dks spamming undodgeable whip.

    The problem here is not that there are bugged skills. Everybody has at least one of their class skills bugged at this point. If you have read the OP, this thread is about everybody purposefully starting to use Dawnbreaker because it is bugged.

    The only prob is that youre vamp. Dawnbreaker against non vamp is about 6-9 k . nothing special in 1.6 time. But against Vamp 12-16k. sure the dot tick comes fast but who cares about a 2k dot tick against vamp ?!

    Cure vamp and see if its still an exploit for you...

    And your argument about everyone is using it now. Of course. At first there was a thread about the DMG. More ppl using it ...more ppl died to it...more ppl using it theirself...vid about dawnbreaker etc

    Its a gold ulti against non Vamp and the best ulti against Vamp

    @Joy_Division I am with you. Many of the design choices are half thought through only. I slot meteor on my sorc as well and I have dawnbreaker slotted on my nightblade. If you have only lesser suitable choices otherwise, you take the best one irrespective of this.

    But I would never go on the forums and post useless things like

    the dot is increased in the same way the base dmg is, when i die to smite i have the 12-18k innitial hit + 9-12k dot dmg and the first two ticks are by far to fast (first tick instant second tick after one second third after 3 sec)
