ESO delivers on build variety. Races are preferences, classes specializations. No one player is restricted from a role or content because of the choices they made in character creation.

Of course players are restricted from guilds and content by the races they select....its called their racial abilities. Why would any guild take a Orc Sorcerer when they could have a High Elf? No guilds want an Orc...that's just silly

All of my guilds would take both the Orc Sorcerer and the Altmer Sorcerer. Which one would they use in Trials? The one that performs better. Outside of these forums and rumors, I have yet to meet a raider who discriminates based on race. That's just racist.

Problem is you are getting ZERO benefit from your racial damage. Which is increased fire/frost/shock

If you're competing for the top leaderboard spot or want the most min/maxed possible build then yes. Otherwise no, no content in this game requires anything near min/maxed to complete.

i am new player..level 38 atm..i play high elf templar..i did 8 dungeons as healer..all of them went well...in comparison with mmos like rift..i found eso low level game play much easier..so when you said more than other mmorpgs..you might want to check out games like rift and reconsider what you said.
if the race was that important it would show even more when you are at low levels considering you have fewer skills and passives and no gear bonuses..then those passives from race will shine..but when at low levels it does not really matter then at end game level((considering all the extra skills and bonuses you get from different sources))..it is not matter at all.
but yes there is always elitist people..just simply do not play with them..play with casuals and casual guilds.

Dunmer DK (both of them) - Check (also theorycrafted the fire mage personally in beta, though others did as well, dont need your elitist minmaxers to tell me what common sense is)

Breton Templar - Check

Breton Sorcerer - Deal with it (also my former empress, deal with that too)

Breton Sorcerer - Deal with it (the other one)

Bosmer Nightblade - Deal with it

Khajiit Templar - Deal with it (also specced as a magicka healer, deal with that as well)

Nord Templar - Deal with it, no really, hes my mule and bank account, do make deals with him.


I have never once had a problem getting into a group, completing content, or excelling in PvP. I think the elitists need their heads examined

I think if a guild doesnt allow people without those combinations in on the sole basis of min/maxing, the members of that guild probably arent good enough to be running endgame content in the first place.

I'm using Imperial DK, Wood Elf NB, High Elf Sorcerer & Breton Templar.

I've looked at passives when creating my character, I don't really care if my character looks as an Imperial or High Elf for example. I'm able to play any race in any faction anyway.

Now, I issue you a challenge.

DPS battle. Go, post your best DPS in a 2 minute sustain either in trial or big health dungeon boss (no single shot or execute range only stats, the full 2 minutes or close to that). Once done, i will do a DPS check on the same boss with each of my four v14s (one of each class) and guarantee I do more DPS than even your best character.

Healer Battle - Hard to measure, get some people to come vouch for your mad skills

Tank battle - Come to Cyrodiil and lets see how long you stay alive on an enemy resource without killing any guards, and without leaving to regen or break combat. My AD templar and AD DK can do both INDEFINITELY (until im bored anyway, usually i just kill the guards and solo cap it).

I will also so that when it comes to how I play my toons in MMORPGs I have one simple rule.

If you don't pay for my Subscription (if required) and my Internet then you don't get a say in how I play my toons... ...end of.

So far no guild I have been in has ever opted to pay my bills, and none of them have kicked me for not mini-maxing either.

Case in point, I'm a level 18 dark elf sorcerer. I utterly annihilated a altmer sorc and his buddy Breton DK at the same time. Learn how to play, and you will fail less.

Just because a certain race has passives you don't want, doesn't mean you need to put points into them. I have seen countless videos of dark elf vamp sorcerers that were emperor...soooo....just sayin, tour a bit slow.

Maybe guilds kick you for your attitude or being not good at the game. A true elitist can make a op char with any race/class combo. Learn how to play bro.

Templar - Breton - Breton has decreased spell cost and increased magicka. Ideal for healing small and large groups.

Why people keep saying templars are healers?

Because..... they are?
They are the only class with a NATIVE HEAL.
Sorta makes them a natural healer.
Yes, they can dps and tank.
Yes, other classes can heal.
But yes, a lot of end-content players prefer a Templar as their healer.
