Yes, let's add dyes from in game achievements. Let's also add purchasable quest completions, and while we are at it why don't we add the following:
Purchase fully skill pointed CP upped VR14 char.
Purchase normal dungeon/vr dungeon/pledge and trial loot.
Purchase emporership.
Purchase different PvP ranks.
Blacksmith level 50 and all other crafting related stuff.
That way I can jump in to the game, buy everything and complete it and then log off. Because there is absolutely nothing worthwhile to achieve or to work towards. I will not have enjoyed my experience, I would have missed out on the story lines, the quests, the adventuring, well the "playing" of the game. But that's OK because I don't have time to play it anyway.
Why do people play games if they don't want to play it... if you don't have time, don't buy it and do something else. Stop trying to ruin the experience for everyone else.
I'm in a depressing mood right now, so I'll just go ahead and post this:
The really sad thing is going to be that all of us (emphasis that this includes me), who do not want all this stuff on the crown store and rant and rave now, will continue to play even after they (ZOS) will have put dyes in store next month or the golden tempers in three months time.
Hell, most of us probably will continue even if they put skill points on it, because, you know, we at the bottom of our hearts loathe to give up what we have achieved before "me buy legendary long time, you party?". We will just be miserable.
Naw sorry, some achievements grant dyes and in my humble opinion that is how it should be, Crown Store is getting out of control as it is with motifs now being sold, lost count of how many soul destroyingly boring hours I put in farming motifs pre1.6 and to have them on Crown Store irritates me..
Or you could give actual rewards for achievements instead of what should have never been there in the first place. Dyes should have never been a reward. Titles, alliance ranks, ornate nameplates, these things should be rewards.
Also, your argument is poor. Sets affect gameplay, dyes do not.
dyes are not earned just from PvP........
my fav, coldharbour ash black, is earned from PvE:/

And this is something else I don't get about MMO communities. It's a game, you're supposed to be having fun. The term "soul destroyingly boring" should be reserved for your crappy job, not your favorite video game.

Amazingly well said.
However, like @MCMancub said, I also question why they are tied to achievements in the first place. I also think ZOS should somehow specify which dye colors are duplicates. We all know that many of the hues are the exact same, so it would be nice to know which ones we should focus on getting without tricking ourselves into thinking each color is indeed different.
Because grinding in PvP for 16 hours every day for an entire year is not fun and challenging content, it is a tedious grind, nothing more and nothing less. There is no challenge to be had beyond being able to call sick from both school and work in order to get a single dye which you'll have obtained in about a year from now if you do nothing but PvP, sleep and eat.
That is why I suggest this, so those of us who just want the dye, not the PvP glory, honor, achievement or achievement points, just the dye so we can colour our roleplaying outfit to perfection. We're not asking for a title, or emperorship, but a dye.
So replace the dyes with an actual reward! No one is suggesting you shouldn't be rewarded for your effort. I think most would just agree that dyes shouldn't be that reward.

Yeah well the Legate's Black and the Emperor Red, the 2 I and most other people want the most, will be forever outside my reach. And that's just not cool for what is a purely cosmetic item. Emperor should get a badass armor set that no one else can have. THAT makes sense. DYES, do not.
Isn't the Daedric Lord Slayer red pretty much the same as the Emperor Red?

You can sort by color rather than by rarity.

Totally agreed. I had to laugh at the guy who was all like, "you think we ENJOY grinding to get those dyes? No!" and then argued that this is exactly how it should stay. Dyes are not content. Grinding is not content. New areas, new quests, new PvP configurations (dueling, arena, pvp flag for justice system, etc) THAT is content. Dyes are a cosmetic. As such they should be in the store. And REAL content should be added to the game.

I stick up for the game wherever I can , giving my honest opinion.
And I did spend hours listening to music grinding for motifs, and so what? my eyes were glazing over.
And ESO is not my favourite game, I am actually a gamer, and play other games, from different genres, yet despite that, I come and play ESO regularly and have done since Beta days.
I advocate having fun in the game and all have their opinions, even elitists, who I personally despise, but that does not mean every activity is enjoyable to everyone, and you would know that if you actually read even some of my comments.
If you wanna spend hours mindlessly grinding things, then go for it, hope you enjoy it, I however do it from necessity or when I feel like it, and as said before, I will use any term I deem valid for a activity that I am talking about from my viewpoint.
the point i was making was the ACCOMPLISHMENT OF DOING IT. why the heck should i spend time doing something if it gives nothing in return? Why even put all the requirements for the dyes in if one could just buy them? where is the CHALLENGE?.
You could a different set of colours:
I'm filthy rich purple, $1000
I'm comfortably well off blue $500
I find myself with some disposable income orange $100
This is all I could afford green $50
Wish I had more money brown $1
But, the dyes from in game achievements should not be in the crown store. Play the game and earn them. Having items like this will just result in people installing the game, buying all of the achievements and quitting. Lets build a strong community not a flash in the pan player base.
/sigh. read...my....post..... please:/ dont' skim it, read it over.

if dyes were replaced with gear rewards... perhaps... but as of now they are not. I am using the NOW, not the unlikely future. hence is why you and I cannot see eye to eye:/
if this game had no challenge and no work required to do anything, IT WOULD BE BORING. MUCH more boring than grinding stuff for a few days. I have played games that required no challenge, that required no grinding and work to put into things, and THEY. WERE. BORING.
that is the point I am trying to make.
however, people think differently I suppose, so I have to respect others opinions... no matter how much i disagree with them.
alright, im done. goodnight.
NO. The cash shop already sapps LOT of fun out of this game. This is another cash shop item that would remove one reason to play a game. I like working towards obtaining as many colours as possible. Bypassing all this content with money makes me disgusted. Even thinking about it makes me really mad. The cash shop has ruined enough, lets not make it any worse.
