Yes, in a single-player game in which you, the player, were the only Champion/Hero/Etc.

In this instance, we are playing an MMO, in which all players are "the" Champion/Hero/Etc. The dynamics have changed a bit, and that's okay. That's just part of it being an MMO.

The fire Horse is not lore breaking proof is Shadowmere(Dark Brotherhood ) and Avrak is a horse added by Dawnguard Addon, its a dead horse that the player saved and since then it belongs to the player.

I'm fine with that, but from a lore standpoint I would like it if buying one of these special mounts actually meant that you bought a quest that you had to complete in order to earn access to the mount. Wishful thinking, I know.

Actually, on that point I do agree. I think mounts that are this "unique" should definitely have a quest (or at the very least an achievement) attached. I mean, even in the single-player games you couldn't just walk up to a salesperson and purchase one of the unique mounts like Shadowmere or Arvak. They had to be earned. I would much prefer them be achievable that way.

But are they lore-breaking? No. Not at all, and I don't have any issue with them being in-game. Now, if we did actually start seeing motorcycles and whatnot, that would be an issue for me, but something that is fairly well established lore-wise, I'm good. And I don't see it likely that we'll start seeing things that are as incredibly far-fetched as people are fussing over. I could be wrong, but let's hope not.

I'm sure they will add rare mounts that drop from bosses or earn from complete of incredibility (getting a very hard achievement or someone extremely hard in game, thins like 10k achievement points or something). Hopefully they will get added soon to have really cool and rare mounts in the game.

Doesn't have to be. They could handle these sorts of things more eloquently... like...

    BAM!
    W16ggzY.jpg?1

lol. I made a thread about that here: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/154672/serious-crown-store-suggestion-but-with-levity

But seriously, they didn't have to sell this kind of unique mount. They could have unique mounts be limited things that players earn in game OR buffs that you can apply to your mount. Imagine if you could use a potion and BOOM... your horse is now a flame horse! or ice horse... or earth horse... or ghost horse... whatever. Up the speeds on the horse, unlimited stamina... last for 30 minutes or an hour or so. Sell those potions in the crown store.

This way it would be a "cool" thing to see a fire horse zoom by. Not something that is annoying and distracting.

They're not lore breaking, it's just silly that you can buy them. Mounts like the Fire Horse, Shadowmere, Arvak or the unicorn should require some questing to get.

yes. yes. yes. this. 100000X this... I've said this before. SOME Crown Store items should require quests or at the Very least... unlock them.

Like I said above, hopefully there will be unique mounts added in the game that dont require crowns to purchase them.

But every once in a while they will add new mount like the fire one because they know tons of people will buy into that.

It's definitely not lore-breaking. However, yes I would like to see some mounts, etc.. behind achievements or solo quests.

However, I think the fire-horse is straight up awesome. Good job ZOS!

That horse doesn't exist in the time ESO is set, nothing in the game 'Skyrim' does that isn't immortal and that horse certainly isn't immortal.

I live in London. I am used to seeing people dressed as chickens, batman, spiderman etc on public transport. Weird is pretty normal here. I wouldn't blink if I saw a pink elephant ambling down the street outside work.

A flaming horse in Tamriel makes no difference to me - it 'sticks out' less to me than those dwemer pets I see gadding about all over Daggerfall these days.

It can't be too comfortable for the horse though....

They just added the firehorse to the lore. Deal with it. It will fit my character perfectly.

Now if they will just add a rainbow-whale as pet and I am happy

Except she actually is immortal. Sort of. It isn't entirely consistent between games, but she's likely daedric in origin: in Oblivion she couldn't die at all, in Skyrim her physical body died, but she respawned - just like daedra do.

Or y'know, the Void itself given shape. :)

    You nabbed it too, huh?
First time I came across this and his three friends, I hopped on and exited the area - thinking I was saving him...

Couldn't figure out why every time I'd leave him be for more than a minute, he'd start wandering back to his original location. "They're gonna kill you, don't you know that??"

Finally, after breaking out my weapon once (not in battle), the stupid thing attacked me, so that was it.

I had corralled it behind a closed gate to keep it from wandering off prior to that. When it snapped, I let it go back to its doom... (Made the quest that later involved it much easier to take.) ;)

Anyway, it is lorebreaking...but so are jesters, chefs, and brides riding into battle on guar mounts, as well as Dogs, Pigs, and Monkeys standing in the lava while you fight VS in City of Ash...

    It makes $. It stays.

    It's really that simple.

How are Brides riding on guars lorebreaking? Maybe she was about to be wed and her Groom was murdered by some cheating EP scum.

Same for chefs and jesters. They could have their reasons to join the fight. Poisoned food, customers complaining on facebook for the chef or dead kings or to much rotten tomatoes for the jester.
