So much entitlement in regards to this steam release, it's hilarious.

We should not get the Steam dog just as they should not get what we have. That being said there should be a different breed available to us. Make it a gift to those who have subscribed for 6 months.

Pretty sure other than the explorer's pack pet, there isn't anything we have that they aren't getting. Still comes with the mudcrab, horse, gear, etc. Maybe they aren't getting a second mudcrab...but seriously, who really wanted another one? Also, I'd like steam keys because A. many games that you purchase elsewhere nowadays can be activated on steam, and B. there's trading cards and such for the game. Also having it on steam means future expansions/mounts/pets or whatever they sell will be easier to purchase. As far as I know, there is literally no reason not to offer existing users a Steam key like so many games do now.

Who exactly has given out a Steam Key for a game you bought and played already?

No game has ever done this. Only one game has actually allowed you to convert the non steam version to steam and that's path of exile.

I'm fine with the guar pet code being attached to the guar plushy purchase, because existing customers can get it.
But what on earth can I do with a bonus attached to my steam account? I can't even gift the game to a friend or family member and keep the dog for myself.

If ZOS is contractually obligated to only give the wolfhound to new steam customers, I propose the following alternative:

Give those of us who have been with you since the beginning the option to get the tan dog as a customer loyalty bonus.
Good idea. Just make another dog and everybody is happy. Problem solved.

We are aware of the fact that it is exclusive.

We are disgruntled over the fact that existing players can't get it for ourselves.

I can't even buy the game as a gift for a friend and keep the dog.

The guar was a great idea. This was certainly not.

No offense, but that's kind of unfair. You're inadvertently punishing pretty much you're entire current player base by doing this.

I can only speak for myself, but i preordered the imperial edition, i have the explorer's pack, palomino horse and the monkey pet.

I don't know if there have been games that have added them later, true, but there have been a number of games that I've bought in a store and then added to my steam list, getting both a physical copy and a Steam copy. There's options to activate a game on steam where the game code will work as a steam code, and there's also an option to add a non-steam game. You aren't getting a second copy or anything, it simply gives you access through steam.

Maybe it is entitlement, I usually avoid going that direction, but in this case the frustration is the complete lack of option. We're used to the case of "oh, this thing got given out before I started. That sucks, but I guess it makes sense" or "I can choose to buy this version for this pet or that one for that pet" versus this new "I already paid for this at full price months ago, but now there's a new option that was not available and I have no access to". It could also be because there is no other dog. But as I said in my earlier post, Zenimax usually pulls through, I'm going to assume they will for this.

pets don't show up in Cyrodiil anymore.

I can't summon my pet while in Cyrodiil. If I have my pet summoned before I go to Cyrodiil, it goes away while I am there.

I don't think your concern would raise any issue any longer, they appear to have coded pets out of Cyrodiil entirely.

I am a bit disgruntled that people who are coming to the game late get an exclusive vanity pet that existing customers have no access to.

I can't get the monkey, that's fine. I wasn't around for beta. It was a reward for being around super early.

But a reward for coming in late? The funny thing is, if I weren't already playing this game, that offer would absolutely entice me to buy it. But from the other side of the game box, it doesn't sit right.

Maybe it is jealousy and entitlement (though I'd be okay with not getting for free, at least give me the option to buy it as a stand-alone), but right now I am a grumpy customer.
