Is tomorrow's maintenance scheduled as in weekly scheduled maintenance or scheduled as in "We have to take it down tomorrow to get some of this stuff fixed" scheduled?

Are Mondays the new Tuesdays?

    Tuesday is "regular maintenance".

    Tomorrow is "scheduled maintenance".

They announced Tuesdays and Fridays are the scheduled days.

With the amount of complaints and reports of errors they've been getting, especially about the loading screen issues, this feels like more of a FIX IT downtime.

Could also be they are taking the opportunity to do all the checks/updates they would normally do Tuesday with this Monday maintenance, or at least I HOPE we won't be down on Tuesday as well. :p

I assume it isn't scheduled maintenance in the traditional sense ( IE "emergency maintenance"), and I wouldn't be surprised to see the servers come down on Tuesday for the "actual" scheduled maintenance.

While it has some fixes listed, hopefully this also closes up the couple other exploits that leaked since the guild bank one was closed off. That is the biggest reason I can see for doing this a day early, as that would rank somewhere higher on their priority list.

Keeping tracking of server maintenance times is becoming a full-time occupation around here. Like I said elsewhere, Zenimax should just identify a block of time (maybe an hour) each day for server downtime and upkeep. Eve Online does it, and the community is used to it. Why can't ESO? This would solve about 99% of the bitching about irregular downtimes, emergency maintenance, etc.

I understand this is a new game and all, but the amount of maintenance is crazy, is it like 3 times a week + emergency? If the want happy player (is that even possible..?), then they should consider only one day a week for scheduled maintenance, with a larger window, then it wouldn't seem so annoying when they have to do emergency stuff as well. This is becoming Elder Scrolls Offline :disappointed:

I actually like the game, but there has been to much downtime during Easter vacation.

    Cheers.

Again, for those continuing to vent. It's supposed to address the loading screen issue, as well as some other fixes.

There are more bugs than 'normal' for a launch but..

I've never played a MMO where, at start, there wasn't at least two maintenances per week. We are still in the first month, just sayin'. While I don't know their future plans, i'd wager once things settle down, it'll be the standard Tuesday maintenance only.

To everyone complaining about "too much maintenance", lemme tell you a little story about an online game that's lucky to get a single restart on the first Monday of the month.

Bugs and errors tend to build up in a single week, let alone over the course of a Month! That game is supported only by donations, so think for a moment how much those players have to put up with every month until the next restart, and continue to donate to support the game despite all of that.

ESO is a pay-to-play game, and that money goes into maintenance and repairs and bugfixes that make a single month maintenance plan completely unworkable. If you think all these down times are "Too Much", then think again. We could be getting FEWER restarts and even MORE problems could appear just by letting it go for so long.

Be grateful that we are getting as many maintenance days as we have been.

I'll believe it when I see it. I'm betting there will be more maintenance on Tuesday. So much for 30 days of game time included. At the rate we are going we'll be lucky to see 20.

why u even comparing ESO with other MMO'S this has absolutely nothing to do with other MMO'S and the issues that those MMO'S had. Players are reflecting there concerns and issues with this game and what they don't like. By saying ahh well u should have played this and this MMO.. well who giefs a F... about other MMO'S, we are playing ESO.

I think the word you're looking for is gives, I have no idea what giefs is.

Perhaps, you need to read the post from the other member where he clearly compares this to other MMOs.

No, this isn't right! Look, it's another weekend day because of Easter, you eat up too much of the free time we have, please, please, how can you be so thoughtless? We already lost Saturday, now Monday? This just isn't fair...

I'd rather they fix issues. I can go do something else during downtime. It seems many people can't however.

I think they want to adress the freezing during the load screen not the extreme long load times...but lets get surprised.
Anyway we should slowly get used to the fact that if they succeed in repairing this issue on the other hand they will add more new bugs...how many of you rememeber this loading screen issue 2 weeks ago ? I bet that no one.

I can't help to feel a little cheated, coming from someone who plays during Western Australia times. Maintenance takes place during our prime time but yet we cannot complain about it because the majority of the players are from North America and EU.

Thus, we have to deal with the scheduled maintenance, which I guess we can get used to. However, the number of maintenance that goes on every week seems kind of "out of line". Out of the 30-day gametime we get from (pre-)purchasing the game, we lose at least 8 days of it just from scheduled maintenance by being players from SEA (South-East Asia)/Oceanic. Coupled with the new forum user term, "regular maintenance" and "emergency maintenance", we might as well have half our 30-day gametime taken away from us.

TL;DR Scheduled maintenance takes away 8 days from 30-day gametime from SEA/Oceanic players at the very least. Perhaps Zenimax can implement a way whereby gametime is only counted with the time you spent logged in. This way, everyone is happy.

    Just my 2-cents.

That would be fine except today is a Public Holiday in larger parts of the world.

I 'get' that America largely doesn't have the concept of public holidays but this one is widespread. This was a long weekend for many of your international customers and you took the EU server down both days.

Friday's downtime was clearly unavoidable, disappointing as it was, but today's? I see no mention of anything to do with the infinite loading screens, etc. which would at least be a good reason for this.

    Really? Not really very good.

    [edit]

Okay, I've just seen the earlier announcement where it does mention the loading screen issue should be fixed as part of it, this then is like Friday, annoying by pretty essential.
