Of course they need to test the POTENTIAL fix before they can give an ETA! They need to know it WORKS before they can start working on adding it to the LIVE servers!
if only they tested the initial patch like this
If you had paid attention to earlier comments in this thread, it have been explained that everything can NOT be tested on PTS, and even reasons why...
if only u got the concept that the pts is not the source of zos internal testing
Not their only testing, no. Can you get the concept that they can not pre-test things as they do not act the same way in their various test-environments as they do live?
well then how would they be testing a patch for the fix if not ??? surely in order to test the patch for the fix there would have to be something to fix so the internal systems would have experienced the same bug aswell just saying logically ofc
what did we get with TG? and as i understood the notes the personality is for anyone that buys the db dlc? I'm speaking more to the little mailed items we used to get like every 6mo saying hey, thanks for still giving us money eveymonth. as soon as they went b2p that all stopped, which always seemed weird to me. id have thought they would want to keep it up like they originally were to encourage people to stay subscribed as that generates more long term income for them. although the craft bag seems like a pretty awesome nod to eso+ members, I'm hoping they keep up with things like this now and then again like they used to. i think we can all agree that its just nice to occasionally get some appreciation for sticking this out. hell, id be happy with a thank you email and a few soul gems or something once in a while. just a little nod that says hey, we know you are still here and as a subscriber we value you being here.AyeshaBelladonna wrote: »those are avail to everyone that wants to buy them. they originally stated we would heave areas that were subscriber only, not subscriber and anyone who wants to buy it straight out. not the same thing at all. we don't even get thank you pets anymore. as silly as those are at least it was nice to feel like ZOS still cared we were there.karldavy149b16_ESO wrote: »AyeshaBelladonna wrote: »I'm glad I'm still a subscriber....i just wish ZOS had kept up what they promised...which was appreciation items and areas that were subscriber only accessible. the craft bag is a step in the right direction but one mount and a couple pets for being here since beta? Bleh. Not feeling the love ZOS. throwing us subscribers a bone now and then would go a long way to folks being much more tolerant of downtimes. While I'm glad you guys caught this apparently major issue right away, I'm still disappointed at the lack of info.
and what do u think all the dlc areas are about ?
That's not true, we got one with the TG DLC - and with the DB DLC we got the new appearance item - assassin personality.

When people start bringing up subscription, refunding and loosing 1 day in Tamriel, I only shake my head.
To begin with, in most MMORPGs, issues like maintenance have already been agreed upon by being able to play the game, that the developers are NOT responsible for "economical loss".
Secondly, have you even considered what you loose? 1 day you loose an ice cream, at most. The most expensive subscription plan is €12.99 per month, which gives €0.43 per day, so I mean that literally.
Thirdly, are you really that addicted to the game, or if it is greed over a few pennies? Then you might need the break, to think your life over.
Fourthly, if you can not stand things like maintenance - keep away from MMORPGs.
I'd say the cost is irrelevant as they were probably after 1 day added to their eso plus (which would cost ZO$ nothing) rather then a monetary refund but as you think it's relevant let me ask at what point is it ok the ask for a refund? €4.30, €43, €430, €4300, how much money would you have to pay without receiving what you paid for before you'd ask for a refund?

How to test a major update ZOS-way:
Step 1. Don't waste time for internal tests. Just push the patch to live servers in prime time.
Step 2. Wait 4-5 hours for players to test the patch.
Step 3. Find out the most obvious bugs.
Step 4. Shut down the server for maintenance to fix these bugs.
Step 5. ???
Step 6. Profit!
It amazes me how entitled [snip] people are. By all means, please enlighten us on your extensive experience with testing major software. They don't take down servers lightly. However, in your estimation, they have no idea what they are doing. Go you! You are an expert on the internet.

That the test gets fixed in the test environment, does not guarantee it will be fixed in the live environment. It have high potential though.
This is why many bugs and so on show up after release, despite all the weeks/months of testing.
It's simply the world of programming.
I think I know what one of the bugs was...runestone aspect runes were giving really rare stones each find. 3-6 stones per 1 aspect runestone location...maybe that was it.
Thank you for the hotfix. Regarding the missing items, since some may have gone missing without us noticing. Will the full client patch restore those? Also when is the full client fix for this going to be released, if you know?
Thanks
Interesting. When I had some quest rewards get ninja reduced from green to white many updates ago, you didn't bother to fix any of it. After all these months, will your full fix include fixing those previous items?ZOS_JessicaFolsom wrote: »Testing passed, and we're opening the servers now. ESO Plus members pay the cash equivalent of 50 crowns per full day of access. Current retail value of today's unplanned downtime: Less than 10 crowns. If they want to compensate us for the inconvenience, maybe they can bump it up to 20 crowns. Till then, go outside. It's almost summer! (Retail value of summer: 30 billion crowns.)

Would be your loss - the new DLC is awesome stuff.
Hey @Lysette! Let me ask, how are you going to play this DLC? Do you have an assassin character set aside for it, or are you thinking of something else?
Dark brotherhood is my favorite guild since Oblivion - I guess I just have a passion for doing this kind of missions. Targets are pretty much always really evil or bad people, so I do not bother with getting them to Sithis, they get what they deserve. So there is no conflict to me. Well, there was a more attractive guild in Morrowind, but with the same gameplay - Morag Tong - kind of a legalized assassin's guild, whereas Dark Brotherhood is illegal.
Oh I see. I hope you enjoy this quest line, I really liked it. I made an assassin character back in January for it, though. It is not that much about the killing, but worshiping Sithis isn't any of my other characters' thing.
