Are the patch notes in a non-forum-friendly format when the PTS patch starts being installed, and it just takes time to convert them for the forums?

Actually yes a few minutes of "patch notes making backyard" would be nice in ESO live :-)

I assume it's not a text formatting issue but rather a wording issue. The notes probably come in dev-geek-speech format and Gina must translate them all into phrases that make sense for the majority of players - to avoid an avalanche of questions and clarification requests ;-)

I believe Gina said they have to check that the changes listed have actually made it into the final build too however I may be wrong. I imagine patch note localisation takes quite a long while too.

I doubt it's anywhere near as simple as it may appear..

For some reason whenever the patch note hype is up, I picture @ZOS_GinaBruno sitting on her sofa typing them up whilst watching TV and relaxing with a nice cup of tea. I know I'm delusional, but I can hope it's like that...

They do arrive at Gina in Dev speak most times. Gina also goes through and double checks the changelists to make sure what's in the patch notes is actually in that particular build. It's a huge effort and to be quite honest, I dunno how she manages it all sometimes.

Well, if you have a proper issue tracking like JIRA/Redmine, you should be able to get changelog with 1 click. Then is just a thing of writing a more human-readable version :P

Anyone who has dealt with coders knows they're mysteriously unwilling to provide notes about what they've done... even if it means that no one will ever use, or be able to use, what they put so much hard work into! It's very strange.

The first software manual I ever wrote was for a type of audio synthesizer that hadn't previously existed, had an inscrutable GUI, and the developer of which didn't really speak English (mostly Italian) and had no notes about it... I had to experiment with it and infer how it worked and then confirm my suspicions with the developer slowly and haltingly. Fun! Of course, my manual was such a success that he now has a successful business because I wouldn't stop promoting his interesting and inventive creations to my sound design community.

The natchpoter can be a thankless but invaluable job. Of course, not all such folks are rumored to be bringing a half-argonian child into the world. The Hist says it's "only a rumor and no ETA," so I'm still skeptical.
