As the post states, they know there are issue with the game and the NB - But, broken - Bring out the wambulance - NB is not broke, we can solo, and solo public dungeon and their Bosses; Some of the World Bosses, PvP, even after today's patch.

Camera shy 1st Video ever - made a few lame mistakes, but even better to see its possible. 1 Bar - 5 skills - 1 Ult - V7 Solo public dungeon. Unedited

While I agree with you that NBs can go solo and can be really powerful, saying they aren't broken is crazy. The tool tips on skills do not match what we're actually doing. Ideally, because I'm a NB, I'd like to do what the game says I'm doing, but I also know that could make us extremely powerful. NB as a class is broke. I just want to know exactly what's happening and exactly what I'm spending my skill points on.

And I'm glad someone bright up the summon shade ability and how they ruined and/or broke it. If the ability is just to reduce damage given by an enemy, why does a physical shade go running out? The idea of the shade is too distract an enemy until they get some other reason to leave the shade, like someone attacking them. So mobs should attack it until attacked by something stronger.

So patch summary: We got a couple fixes, there is still a *** ton more fixes that will come some time in the next week to months, and more NB abilities were broken. Thanks for giving me more time to finish my masters...

Okay, not 'broke' is an open term. When I say that, what I mean is, by no means are we a useless not able to play class. I do everything solo, but a few Powerfull mage and group Melle World bosses. Like the Ogre and 2 Bears, WTF Bears hit hard.

We have passives that don't work, but every class and some of the crafting traits are broke also. We have to work around them until fixed, that's all. My whole point is the NB DW/BOW dps is totally viable and can solo most content even after today's patch. Not, that there are not issues that need to be addressed with various things through out the entire game.

The fact that you are completely oblivious as to how offensive and thoughtless your comment was, and that you fail to understand or comprehend your OWN words' meaning beyond whatever sounded smart in your head, is nothing short of hilarious.
I know what you meant by it. You're not subtle.

I would just like to point out a little inconvenient fact here for all the defenders in this thread defending this.

This game was officially released in early April. Assuming a very low sales number of 100,000 (it is likely far higher), ZOS made 6 million dollars from box sales.

Subs first ticked in May, which again, assuming an absurdly low number of remaining subs of 100,000 equals an additional 15 million dollars, for a total amount of 21 million dollars in 2 months.

If they can't afford to have a big enough dev team to hot fix this within a week after that kind of money... then it points to a management, and culture problem at ZOS, and frankly, a company like that... is not worth my time or money. Not after how patient I have been.

EDIT: Yeah, they probably made 10 times the example above.

No, that would be hypocritical, or self-loathing. The irony comes from a person so oblivious and poorly spoken, insulting another's entire country's education system.

and considering the fact that you're a "grown person" pitching a tantrum over complaints over a video game...heck I guess you're also a hypocrite. Grats on the trifecta.

Death Stroke: This ability no longer receives the critical damage bonus when used as a sneak attack. It will still cause a stun and a guaranteed critical hit.

Big nerf. Having trouble with groups of 3 in VR now.

Class was difficult to solo with before.. now really having a hard time with Assassination/Shadow build.

How about a video of a Dev playing the class post-VR5 to show us how it's supposed to be done.

Maybe the problem is we just don't understand their design vision and we're all doing it wrong.

After the Death Stroke nerf...even VR 3 is pretty ridiculous now.

Thank you for today's content update. I look forward to the changes to my preferred class. As much of a killer as I am now, I can only imagine what it will be like in full effect. It was a difficult to adjust to the broken abilities, but it has still been fun to play. I don't know enough about what it takes to make these changes to complain about the timeline. I also won't pretend to know the profit margins and budget of the company making this game.

I'm so tired of listening to all these disgruntled people complain about every god damned thing. Their phones are too slow, their games are too hard, their *** shower faucet gets clogged, their subway sandwich has too much sauce on it. Fret over every little thing like the world truly owes it to you because you worked sooooooo hard for the money. Make your own cellphone, make your own game. You build a plane that can fly and make it land on time for your *** life that doesn't even matter. Find something to be happy about, or shut the *** up. You're quitting because you're little character is broke? Great. Do that. Do yourself a favor though, and stop being spoiled little ***. Find something that makes you happy, and focus on that instead. You're a paying customer. If the money you "lost" by investing in this game has caused you this much distress, you didn't need to be spending it on a game in the first place. Take the money you spent on this game, and buy one nice article of clothing to wear to a job interview. Just change your attitude first, and maybe your cheap clothes will be overlooked.

Your problem is surviving... they are fixing stuff that gives you more damage...

They should leave your damage as it is, you are fine, and focus on keeping you alive...

Your class is not broken, along with DK, its one of the 2 classes able to solo a Veteran Dungeon alone... and DK`s can`t do it anymore.

So what more do you want? Fixes, sure... more buffs, please don`t.

It's literally broken, why not actually look at the many threads talking about how our passives either don't work, or stop working after death. This isn't a"boo hoo I can't kill x class as fast as I want" issue. It's a "boo hoo why are a sizable section of my skills not working at all, and why did you ignore them in favor of weakening what does?" issue.

This QQ reminds of of the WoW forums, to be honest. Wrist slitting all around.

There's a lot to fix and they have acknowledged it. I think this is just an issue of resourcing - what do they do first, with finite resources:

    1. push out Craglorn to stop the end gamers whinging about having nothing to do
    2. fix the game architecture to address security flaws that make it easier for hacks to be implemented client side to stop people whinging about teleporting bots
    3. spend money on more GMs to ban bots that are replaced by new ones minutes later to stop everyone whinging about botting ruining the game
    4. fix bugs with quests to stop levellers complaining about broken quests
    5. fix the phasing problems with group quests to stop the MMO folks whinging about not being able to group with their friends/spouse/whoever
    6. investigate whether more phasing is needed so that the immersion folks stop whinging about seeing other people in dungeons and quests and ruining their immersion
    7. fix nightblade issues

Nightblades are broken in PvP, but to be honest most melee is. You would expect another few months of balancing all classes and roles before they get the mix right. Right now it doesn't really matter what class you are as long as you go destro/resto. To me that's a bigger thing that needs to be fixed as it fundamentally drives what builds people are using right now.

And the way the game is I think it's hard to push out hotfixes, we will see more changes in content patches than hotfixes. Which takes time.

I fail to see any tantrums in this post, all I see is you once again making generalization because people have a valid complaint. Threatening to unsubscribe from a product that you are unhappy with is not a tantrum. Any rational adult (which you claim to be) would not continue to pay for a product that they are dissatisfied with.

In regards to the fixes that they "have in the works" as a person who does write code, I can completely understand that these things do take time, however I also understand that it is generally not in the best interest of the end user to release something that is not working properly. The fact of matter is these issue with NB and the game in general, have been known since BETA, and have been ignored since BETA. It is also a little known fact that all the points that you summarize in your first paragraph are things that most development teams try to address in BETA, as opposed to releasing the game and trying to push sweeping changes to a class.

    Copied from Another Thread:

I think I speak for many who prefer the Nightblade class when I say we appreciate the special attention and your willingness to let us in on you and the Dev Team's future plans for the class.

I think I also speak for many Nightblades when I say that these fixes should be given special priority.

Your game has four classes, each loosely based on the standard RPG archetypes; Fighter (DK), Mage (Sorc), Rogue (NB), and Healer (Temp). One of those four is broken. Not imbalanced and in need of nerfs or buffs; broken. Now, assuming there's a pretty even distribution of character populations, that's a full 25% of characters with basic functions which do not work.

That's a very different issue than characters whose abilities might be a over-/under-powered. At least those work.

Now, back to the issue of Archetypes.

One of the arguments regularly encountered by people asking for Nightblade fixes is that "Nightblades are fine, just use X build." where X build is something rather far outside the archetypal box. Yes, ESO is a game which allows us to break the mold, and that's awesome; but some of us -want- to play the archetype. Some of us want to sneak around, jumping in and out of shadows with blades flashing in the torchlight. Some of us want hide in the shrubs and pick off targets with our mad archery skills. But unfortunately, those most definitively archetypal builds are unreliable at best, and essentially invalid after about VR2.

It saddens me to know that the issues with this class are so varied and so well known that I'm not longer desired for group play. I sort of expected the variety of character builds to help negate that sort of attitude because your Class would matter less than what you've decided to do with it; but anymore, everyone knows of the Nightblade's issues and, regardless of build, few groups want to be burdened with them.

So, yeah, even though I've been patiently awaiting the lackluster fixes in build 1.1.2 and defending your Dev Team and encouraging patience among the community, the rumor that we may not see any -real- fixes until 1.2 is disappointing. Really disappointing.

Four to Six weeks between major content updates, that's your timeline. That's two to three months since release, for Nightblades, until basic functionality is granted to their class. That's like buying a car and then having the dealer tell you it'll be 90 days before you can have tires. The A/C works, the stereo works, heck, the power windows work, but you aren't going anywhere.

    It's unacceptable.

This issue needs special attention and it needs to come well before 1.2.

    Sincerely,

    Sheds-His-Tail
    Coward

    THIS. o/

All the changes you want to make are rather lackluster, and i don't want to re-roll another class, spent my entire time since pre launch on the NB, not re-rolling.
Id rather simply quit and go play one of the many new MMOs coming out or the existing ones getting new content.
