While I agree with you that NBs can go solo and can be really powerful, saying they aren't broken is crazy. The tool tips on skills do not match what we're actually doing. Ideally, because I'm a NB, I'd like to do what the game says I'm doing, but I also know that could make us extremely powerful. NB as a class is broke. I just want to know exactly what's happening and exactly what I'm spending my skill points on.
And I'm glad someone bright up the summon shade ability and how they ruined and/or broke it. If the ability is just to reduce damage given by an enemy, why does a physical shade go running out? The idea of the shade is too distract an enemy until they get some other reason to leave the shade, like someone attacking them. So mobs should attack it until attacked by something stronger.
So patch summary: We got a couple fixes, there is still a *** ton more fixes that will come some time in the next week to months, and more NB abilities were broken. Thanks for giving me more time to finish my masters...

Where are the buffs to Medium armor Like granting dodge ie?
Where are the buffs for dw?
Ffff i dont want to play in ligth armor wielding a staff !!!
We have plans to improve those also, but this post is intended to focus specifically on the Nightblade class abilities and skill lines.
Add to that the insipid and utterly irrelevant anti-American education bit and your words are now ironic, as well as moronic.
I would just like to point out a little inconvenient fact here for all the defenders in this thread defending this.
This game was officially released in early April. Assuming a very low sales number of 100,000 (it is likely far higher), ZOS made 6 million dollars from box sales.
Subs first ticked in May, which again, assuming an absurdly low number of remaining subs of 100,000 equals an additional 15 million dollars, for a total amount of 21 million dollars in 2 months.
If they can't afford to have a big enough dev team to hot fix this within a week after that kind of money... then it points to a management, and culture problem at ZOS, and frankly, a company like that... is not worth my time or money. Not after how patient I have been.
EDIT: Yeah, they probably made 10 times the example above.

It would be ironic if I were American.
No, that would be hypocritical, or self-loathing. The irony comes from a person so oblivious and poorly spoken, insulting another's entire country's education system.
Death Stroke: This ability no longer receives the critical damage bonus when used as a sneak attack. It will still cause a stun and a guaranteed critical hit.

Maybe the problem is we just don't understand their design vision and we're all doing it wrong.
alexandru987eb17_ESO wrote: »Your problem is surviving... they are fixing stuff that gives you more damage...
They should leave your damage as it is, you are fine, and focus on keeping you alive...
Your class is not broken, along with DK, its one of the 2 classes able to solo a Veteran Dungeon alone... and DK`s can`t do it anymore.
So what more do you want? Fixes, sure... more buffs, please don`t.

As much of a killer as I am now, I can only imagine what it will be like in full effect. It was a difficult to adjust to the broken abilities, but it has still been fun to play. I don't know enough about what it takes to make these changes to complain about the timeline. I also won't pretend to know the profit margins and budget of the company making this game.
I'm so tired of listening to all these disgruntled people complain about every god damned thing. Their phones are too slow, their games are too hard, their *** shower faucet gets clogged, their subway sandwich has too much sauce on it. Fret over every little thing like the world truly owes it to you because you worked sooooooo hard for the money. Make your own cellphone, make your own game. You build a plane that can fly and make it land on time for your *** life that doesn't even matter. Find something to be happy about, or shut the *** up. You're quitting because you're little character is broke? Great. Do that. Do yourself a favor though, and stop being spoiled little ***. Find something that makes you happy, and focus on that instead. You're a paying customer. If the money you "lost" by investing in this game has caused you this much distress, you didn't need to be spending it on a game in the first place. Take the money you spent on this game, and buy one nice article of clothing to wear to a job interview. Just change your attitude first, and maybe your cheap clothes will be overlooked.
Has anyone played a NB in VR after patch? Getting my face stomped..most other's are reporting same.
Seems like skills are messed up too... only running 3% spell crit when it was 30% yesterday before patch...

I think I speak for many who prefer the Nightblade class when I say we appreciate the special attention and your willingness to let us in on you and the Dev Team's future plans for the class.
I think I also speak for many Nightblades when I say that these fixes should be given special priority.
Your game has four classes, each loosely based on the standard RPG archetypes; Fighter (DK), Mage (Sorc), Rogue (NB), and Healer (Temp). One of those four is broken. Not imbalanced and in need of nerfs or buffs; broken. Now, assuming there's a pretty even distribution of character populations, that's a full 25% of characters with basic functions which do not work.
That's a very different issue than characters whose abilities might be a over-/under-powered. At least those work.
Now, back to the issue of Archetypes.
One of the arguments regularly encountered by people asking for Nightblade fixes is that "Nightblades are fine, just use X build." where X build is something rather far outside the archetypal box. Yes, ESO is a game which allows us to break the mold, and that's awesome; but some of us -want- to play the archetype. Some of us want to sneak around, jumping in and out of shadows with blades flashing in the torchlight. Some of us want hide in the shrubs and pick off targets with our mad archery skills. But unfortunately, those most definitively archetypal builds are unreliable at best, and essentially invalid after about VR2.
It saddens me to know that the issues with this class are so varied and so well known that I'm not longer desired for group play. I sort of expected the variety of character builds to help negate that sort of attitude because your Class would matter less than what you've decided to do with it; but anymore, everyone knows of the Nightblade's issues and, regardless of build, few groups want to be burdened with them.
So, yeah, even though I've been patiently awaiting the lackluster fixes in build 1.1.2 and defending your Dev Team and encouraging patience among the community, the rumor that we may not see any -real- fixes until 1.2 is disappointing. Really disappointing.
Four to Six weeks between major content updates, that's your timeline. That's two to three months since release, for Nightblades, until basic functionality is granted to their class. That's like buying a car and then having the dealer tell you it'll be 90 days before you can have tires. The A/C works, the stereo works, heck, the power windows work, but you aren't going anywhere.
It's unacceptable.
This issue needs special attention and it needs to come well before 1.2.
Sincerely,

Maybe since Matt Firor allegedly plays a nightblade (so he said in the AMA), he could try leveling up past 20 and actually see firsthand just how many things are broken so it gets a bit more priority behind fixing this mess?
Post a video then, against someone who isn't brain dead.Kewljag_66_ESO wrote: »This is unacceptable. NB are useless as of right now. your telling every single NB that they are going to be useless for the new content until you can 'figure out' what is wrong. 2months later I bet you it still will be a broken useless class... Bravo.
Yes we need fixes but we arent useless....... I can take any class 1v1 even if they are a higher VR rank it just requires smart play and good timing on blocks and interupts, if I open with sneak attack I always win even against DKs. We are still strong if played right. this just means after the fixes we will be that much stronger. My only worry is way become FOTM
Isn't it Piercing Mark that allows you to see stealthed and invisible enemies? Mark Target is just reducing the resistance and gives you %hp after target is killed. Cos if Mark Target do allow you to see stealthed target then something is wrong.ZOS_JessicaFolsom wrote: »Incoming Fixes & Improvements
Mark Target: Mark Target currently allows you to see and attack targets that are sneaking, but not ones that are invisible. We are working on a fix for this issue.
