Can someone please explain the end game in ESO to me

When I hit VR12 what is there to do in ESO?

I've not heard anything concrete and I've come to the concluesion that there is.

Trails - Pointless, you can get better gear by crafting
Farming Mats - For crafting best end game gear
Cyrodil - See how long you can last before it lags/crashes (also rewards here are way behind what you can craft.)

It seems to be that the end game in ESO is severely lacking and that they plan to address this by slamming up the VR cap "every 4 - 6 weeks.) Basically we are paying subs for an RPG, with limited (mostly broken) RPG content.

Personally i tiered (progressive) end game content, not the never ending story.

I would say make alts, but vet zones make that pointless. all you can do is do PvP. if you reached VR12, and did everything, either PvP, make a new char, or move on to a different game.

All I can say is take your time or roll an alt. You aren't missing anything by being VR12. They are going to introduce a Cyrodiil campaign for non-VR players soon so that will be fun for a bit, unless you are already in veteran ranks...

The only plans of theirs that I am sure of is that they are going to increase the VR cap, and introduce more group content. Oh and we get dyes tied to achievements. I've been going after those, but I'm hung up on the monster slayer achievement because I need to kill VR mobs for it and taking on groups of three of those gets tedious very quickly.

If you play for rewards only I don't know what to tell you... Don't play? Find a job? There they give you ACTUAL money.

Trial and dungeons are awesome. Fun fights, difficult enough. Challenge. All that. But then again, I play for fun. If you want rewards... Craft if you want gear so much?

Trials is the only location for the V12 Warlock jewelry set, there is no better jewelry set in the game and it can not be crafted.

So for V12 Jewerly, trials is currently the only option.

Personally tho, I love the vet dungeon runs. 3 mates on vent, trying not to die against some insane boss.... love it. Just wish I could do a run with my templar instead of my always only my sorc

Lol, have fun (oh rewards sucks is only an argument if you cant have some fun or make your own fun)

Farming is not really end game. its a tendious activity to keep people that like to tackle the same simple activity day after day.

Cyrodil, well make you fun, get in a group of like minded peeps and destroy a few zerg 3 times your size using tactics. Gee just leveling up PVP to get all the passives is a good 2 weeks of playing 18hrs a day.

You might wanna level other skill lines up what you are using might be the best for every encounter.

I really dont know what end game is anymore, i played enough mmo to make my fun or do something usefull for my character if i am intending of playing another few weeks or months. Plenty of that available in ESO.

    1) I have a job.
    2) I play MMOs (after work) to have a rewarding and progressive experience, hell even if I am playing Tetris I am trying to beat by previous highest score. Whilst pointlessly running Trials provides zero progression.
    3) Paying a sub for a non progressive game which does not have repeatable end game content, is obscene. For that Ill save my money on the subs pick up the latest box titles for the PS4.

Cyrodiil and Trials are current end-game, with an ever expanding content progression with new zones and veteran ranks.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

You did notice that ESO goes for a more horizontal than vertical approach to progression than most MMO's? right?

Long term your progression will summarize to being able to tackle a *** load different situations with different skills and tactics.

Yeah ill give you a honest answer about end game content.

    1. You run around selling your potions/glyphs/food for gold that has no purpose.

    2. You farm trials or dungeons for useless loot that is probably bugged and doesn't work properly.

    3. You go into PvP to find you have them (other factions) pushed into their spawn and there is nothing to do.

    4. You go to do trials and get repeatedly kicked for not having teamspeak.

    5. If your V12 you can go to a V5 zone and get murdered by trash mobs.

    6. Oh my favorite, find the last couple quests in zones you missed and not be able to beat them solo, nor find help to complete them.

    7. Last but not least, dump another couple hundred hours into a character that gets destroyed by a single patch over the weekend.

    Try those out!

You might don't like it but its pretty obvious not lacking ...

Only problem with that is, that Zenimax plans to raise softcaps for Vet levels and the gear with better stats still didn't make it to the game.

Those rewarding changes are elemental for this game and would be a great motivation for many players while gaining Vet levels, but unfortunately we get nothing.

Imho Softcaps must grow with every Vet level as soon as possible.
Zenimax agrees and mentioned it in road ahead as well, but they are not ready because its a very sensitive adjustment.

From this perspective we could all enjoy our summer and come back when its in the game because currently there is no point in gaining Vet levels.

Skip content, skip content, skip content, skip content, Max Level! Hey, where is the content?
To bad people got used to games with little to no content but endless boring grind for elitist gear. I play since beta and haven't seen all of Teso yet. You don't need an 'endgame' when you enjoy the game itself. I will need at least another two months to reach so called 'endgame' while having fun on the way.

Enjoy your first standoff against a veteran mob of 3 or more!

Glad you think because you play through it slow that those who didn't are somehow at fault lol.

Fact is the veteran content is way harder than it needs to be. Most people are upset they can't play solo, including myself. How is there content when you cant even play half of it do to you dying nonstop? Oh wait I need to L2P right?

It is apparent that they increased the difficulty in Vet content to slow the progress of those still subbed in hopes to put pressure on the sub bleeding they are having.

Vet content is not doable alone. There is no one in the vet zones to help you now since they implemented Craglorn. Since they patched the Craglorn to slow grinding/leveling it too is also empty. With vet content comes the added bonus of playing the quests you just completed in level 1 through 50 again through the eyes of the other factions. It is tedious and boring. Lets not forget that you get no rewards for doing this.

So enjoy your level 1 through 50 if you can and roll alts if you can stomach that.

There isn't any end game in ESO, and it not supposed to be, since the main CORE idea with ESO is a living evolving Tamriel, that changes over time.

There will be the current hardest encounters, most rare items, be a master in a crafter profession (Can do everything), completing big long story lines, like the main one, "win" PvP campaigns, Master explorer who can tell tales about every inch of Tamriel. More things to master is already in the works.

    And peoples own personal goals.

ESO main long term plan is open for all to see. When the "end game" is beaten, Tamriel evolves to future challenges.

One could argue that when you built your character to the max of YOUR vision and when your char is "done" and cant evolve anymore. That is an end game.

This will change with new features to keep develop your char.

Its easier to say what the end game in ESO is not:

Max level, to many skill points you don't use because "you have them all" and calculating the "best build" for today.

Since ESO is a character skilled based game, where we KNOW that more features, events, skills and spells will be introduced, you get a new goals.

By now most players must be aware of balancing and Zenimax have choosen not to do the mistake and buff everything to hell....(brave by the right way)

And any skill at any point is subject to minor changes. To calculate numbers simply is a waste of time, since maybe next week, they don't add up.

End RAID content in ESO is not equal to other MMOs raids. I agree on that.
BUT ESOs MMO type is NOT only to beat the raid instances, get the best gear. (Its a part of it)

Look what they are focusing on. High end content. Give em some time.

The end goal must be to have fun, do things you are not used to in other MMOs?

Be part of the Tamriel world. Make you famous by claiming the champion of different areas? Who gonna own the Kiosk? The coming new city? I bet a whole new game will be able to fit in there.

The justice system. We don't know how it works, but if I can get hired as a guards, I would love to chase thieves and killers to throw em in jail! :D

The adding of quests, that continue to challenge, bring "life" to Tamriel and I hope comes in different difficulties, and more of the kind where you need to choose a path, and cant change your mind.

If you want reward for thing you at end game content i would suggest you go and play WoW which atm have not have content update for almost 10 month now where you do dalies all day long and do LFR all day long so you can buy your epic gear from a vendors don't it sound like fun thing to do hmmm.

No but honest ESO is 3 month old and we all know it was not much of end content at start hell Zenimax even went out with statement when ESO went live tell us that have not have time to add much of end game content so 1st few patch would add more end game content. What the did not count on was the many people hit max lvl so fast as the did and that took them off guard big time at Zenimax for it do take time to add new content so just have patience my young padowan :)

Can somebody explain the meaning of end game?

I played WoW for several years and there is NOTHING to do except of PvP.

ESO offers pretty much the same "end content" as any other MMORPG, so I seriously have no idea what are you crying about.

Any PVE content is boring after 2-3 runs.

And if you do not like PvP in ESO, you should most likely seek another game and come back to ESO when they introduce new stuff. It is always bad to see ppl go, but if you are bored then I see no better advice. And you know that they are adding stuff often...:-)

Yeah ill give you a honest answer about end game content.

I'll highlight your reasons, and answer my own under each.

    1. You run around selling your potions/glyphs/food for gold that has no purpose.

Critical resources to beat hard encounters. Solo as groups.

    2. You farm trials or dungeons for useless loot that is probably bugged and doesn't work properly.

Bug gets fixed. Only in this coming patch a load of gear getting fixed. "farming sounds boring"

    3. You go into PvP to find you have them (other factions) pushed into their spawn and there is nothing to do.

So the goal of your pvp campaign succeed. I thought thats why you fight in Cyrodiil, to win.
Cyrodiil is probebly the biggest zone in the game. Go explore?

    4. You go to do trials and get repeatedly kicked for not having teamspeak.

So get teamspeak, or do trials with guild/friends? Dont blame the game if you cant find a group.

    5. If your V12 you can go to a V5 zone and get murdered by trash mobs.

Didn't I read somewhere that some Vet content is for solo, but Vet levels events are supposed to be grouped. Feel free to read the statement about Vet levels.

    6. Oh my favorite, find the last couple quests in zones you missed and not be able to beat them solo, nor find help to complete them.

Blaming the game again for something you can not do, or get a friend with you.

    7. Last but not least, dump another couple hundred hours into a character that gets destroyed by a single patch over the weekend.

Balancing is part of most MMOs. I do not believe that any character gets "destroyed" by a patch. A lot harder to play because of a mistake made, or a fix to a class/skill. Tried adapting?

    Yes, please try those out.

End Game content is just that the end of the game. SURE some games hide it with gear levels that are longer to grind than hitting the max level in the game.

TESO's "end game" Starts at level 1. To think any differently well prepare to be HIGHLY disappointed, WHICH everybody is so GOOD JOB.

1-50 + VR content is by far more content than any other MMO I have ever played.

People complain the quests are stupid and boring and repetitive well WHAT MMO ISNT. The only real option missing from leveling is grinding dungeons. Well that's good to me cause 1-50 you want to really EXPERIENCE the dungeon and story attached. There is PLENTY of time to grind these dungeons in Veteran Rank.

I play this game a LOT 4 hours minimum every day and I have been here since early start......Im ONLY level 42 and on AD side haven't even made it to reapers march yet. IF your at max level you were either playing a HELL OF A LOT MORE or didn't truly experience the game for what it is.

If you grinded to the end of the game for PVP then by all means enjoy the pvp. If you get bored theres plenty of story available in the game.
