I already stated here that I've now had to cancel my subscription because my internet service has gotten so bad that I'm essentially paying the ISP to not provide it.

Well, I just found out that they have a data cap on their service that they never informed me of, and a pretty low one at that. The only reason I found out is I just got a notice that I'm close to hitting it, likely because of this game since I don't stream movies on a regular basis. (Not blaming ESO. In fact I'm grateful since ESO ultimately made me aware of this crap.) Further investigation shows that in addition to the cap, they're also very likely to have been purposely throttling my service and refused to own up to it.

So, I just needed somewhere to vent a little because I am royally pissed off at them right now and this thread works since this is the reason my sub is canceled. If you have a choice, do not get internet service from Digis. If you don't have a choice, find someone to provide you dial-up. You'll get better customer service and won't notice a difference in your internet service. As for me, it looks like my ESO future is pretty bleak until I can somehow change my situation.

Makes me sympathize with all you other unfortunate individuals in other places that have had to put up with this data cap and throttling nonsense for much longer than I have.

    I'm already unsubbed!
Unsubbed at VR4 after disillusionment with the complete absence of multiplayer/social/guild features. Can't stay grouped in phases, can't quest together, can't meet up as a Guild. It's basically a single-player game right now, and people who are playing it solo are those current still around, or saying they love it as is.

If the mega-server system isn't able to do what they said it would, namely -be smart enough to automatically place people in the same phase based on Guild, friends list, group, etc. (which it hasn't since launch) then they need to scrap it and go for actual static servers.

Anything calling itself an MMO which does not support players actually gathering and interact with each other, is a joke. Please make this an MMO so I can come back.

Meh, i don't know actually. I play, do some PvP. then i try to do quests in VR7 area. I like the quests but it feels wrong killing my own faction.

Then i log out and play SWTOR co-op with the wife (the reason i bought TESO) which works 100% and i don't have to do the enemy faction quests.

I love TESO and the PvP is great. But i don't know how long i will feel that way.

Edit: You forgot the "meh, i don't know" option

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Most who unsubscribe probably don't even know this forum exists, and only ZOS knows the true numbers. But since even they don't ask unsubscribing players why they're doing so, they choose to remain willfully ignorant of the reasons.

Well, there is a school of thought that states ZOS was tasked with raising X amount of money with ESO, in order to assist in funding of further ZeniMax endeavors. That school of thought asserts that once ZOS met that threshold, all else was icing on the cake.

If that's the case, then their indifference to reasons for a lapsing subscription base would be logical. I.E. it may be an actual plan, vice simple incompetency.

I started off paying for a 6 month sub. I have recently un-subbed, but willing to re-sub should they make various changes/improvement. I will not go into details as I refuse to get into any kind of debate over them as they have been heated topics in other threads. All I will say is that I am very unhappy with VR content, and I have no intention of going through that again the way it is now.

I will say I do love the game, and love what it could become even more. I just don't like its current state, but I do anticipate it will change.

I paid for a 6 month sub, mostly as there is nothing on the horizon for the rest of this year, that I want to play. So I'm here mostly because it's the best of the crap that is out there at the moment. As soon as something substational comes along, I'm outta here.

That is unless ESO is fixed up, adds spell crafting, housing, more armour style options, more pre-veteran content. Then I might stick around.

In it's current state 1-3 months however if I see a significant improvement in the game during that time frame then I'll still be here for the long haul.

    Top three wish list:
    1) Weapon swap reliability - out of combat no issues, in combat it's very much a press and hope.
    2) Templar fixes - I can heal fine but I don't want to heal I want to kill things.
    3) ZOS communication - at the moment it's lousy.

Sadly, it's begining to feel more and more like ESO is just a stopgap way for Zenimax to make money until Fallout 4, (or whatever the next big project), is released. Right now my sub ends Aug 6th, and the way VR mobs are right now, I'm not sure if I'll resub. I want to give the game every chance, but I don't want to pay for more of the same boring, frustrating level grind.

I really would love to play this game till the end, however Zenimax's failure to launch and complete unprofessional manner in fixing bugs recorded since beta makes me believe this game isn't worth the $15 dollars a month.

I have subbed for six months, good or ill I will see if there is any real improvements before I make my final judgement on this. I will not fork out a long term $15 monthly to Zenimax's long standing behavior of doing half the work in a game or DLC then stick their thumbs up their bums for the remainder of its game life. Quarn, Kivan and elderscrolls gaming community will not fix this for them. There are other MMO's that are free to play but reward those who subscribe to them loyally and they do a better job managing their game then this utter mess.

I have never ever seen a triple A MMO title come out with so many issues and don't like the idea of Zenimax taking my subscription money to play catch up bugs they should of fixed in beta. It's disrespectful to all those loyal to them, infact anyone reading this thinking of purchasing this game, its only worth it if your a die hard elderscrolls fan and want good old ES content to tide you over till they release ES6 and have money to spare and you want to be a trail blazer. As for those on the fence, this game is hardly worth your time as there are newer MMO's that have been released with far less bugs and seem more intent on rewarding those loyal to them with gifts and loyalty reward marks.

What saddens me more is that if Zenimax fails at this, there will be no new ES MMO to replace this. I started playing their franchise since morrowind but wanted an ES game with multilayer functions since Oblivion. I love all their games, but this is just hunkered down with the stench of greed and laziness.

    TL;DR

I love the elderscrolls franchise and hoped this MMO would show Zenimax's determination to making a triple A title for those who loved their game, but instead we get a bug nest and quest blocking launch all for the initial price of the game and an extra $15 month. I won't support them if this how they plan to treat me as customer when other games are far more deserving of my money and are willing to reward me for loyalty.
