They do take care of this particular issue. 2 people I reported with screen shots for using some very nasty slurs and saying extremely racist remarks after being asked stop in zone were booted within the week. Haven't seen them since. They were perma banned. The reports on several other anti-religious hate speech people didn't get acted on as quickly but they are gone now too. Before anyone starts in the chat filter does not cover this. This is getting out of control and needs to be taken care of. People spamming racial attacks/slurs and attacking people of faith. Most are repeat offenders, people complain myself and others have taken screenshots and sent in reports but nothing seems to happen. Really how hard is it to investigate? seems like a no brainer to me.
Where exactly did the OP state that it's a simple matter of disagreeing viewpoints? Debating faith is one thing... whatever. Being insulting with vulgar and hate fueled comments is quite another. I've seen some pretty bad behavior in zone chat numerous times myself. My rule of thumb is simple... if a statement is so hate filled that it makes my eyes bulge or gasp out loud, then a /report is incoming. Sadly, it happens more often than I'd care to see.HelpingHand wrote: »I completely forgot to address the matter that someone disagreeing with your religious views is also NOT racism. Do you even understand what you are complaining about?

@HelpingHand There's an 'and' between those two. And from reading the OP, it sounds more like they are talking about the general awfulness in zone chat, not about any personal attacks. But you jumped to right to that conclusion for some reason.HelpingHand wrote: »I completely forgot to address the matter that someone disagreeing with your religious views is also NOT racism. To OP, click report and click add to ignore. That's really all you can do if you want to keep zone chat up.
That this excuse is just logic immature people use to rationalize their poor behavior notwithstanding...HelpingHand wrote: »DenverRalphy wrote: »Where exactly did the OP state that it's a simple matter of disagreeing viewpoints? If the OP learned to keep his mouth shut in a MMO where people will always find something to disagree about, or talk trash to about, then the OP wouldn't have this problem to begin with. If the OP goes fishing, they are gonna catch more than they bargained for. This happens all the time as well. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. I promise you, someone said something that he didn't agree with, and he opened his mouth about, well you are wrong because blah blah blah. The OP brought it on themselves. That is how it ALWAYS happens. When they can't handle it, they always resort to crying to mama.

Oh I dunno about that.
If somebody says something along the lines of "All @#$%!! <insert religious faction here> are the @#^$ing bane of the earth and all deserve to hang any their @#$#! for their %@#$!ing evil ways! <insert more explicit vulgarities here in any random order>"
Then yeah... I do believe they are allowed to complain.

I ... do not have to put of with someone attacking my choices.

That way I can ignore them immediately.

The only way someone could attack "his choices" is if they knew about his choices in the first place ...
;-)I ... do not have to put of with someone attacking my choices.
@HelpingHand I'm sorry, do you know the OP and have something against them?HelpingHand wrote: »driosketch wrote: »@HelpingHand There's an 'and' between those two. When the OP titles their article Racism, but their complaint is about religious discrimination, then I didn't jump to anything. They are clearly complaining about religious discrimination. My point is valid. You fail, but good try.

Yes, for the profanity. But since most religious debates between people of faith pretty much come down to "[X] is going to burn for all eternity for their beliefs," the rest is to be expected when you bring up faith in a computer game.
DenverRalphy wrote: »Not really. I see it quite often in ESO (and many other MMOs). There's a plethora of disruptive players who spew some pretty rotten words just for the sake of doing it. They're not waiting for somebody to say "Hey! I'm a <insert relgioun here> faithful" before they run at the mouth. More often than not, it's somebody raging because something in game stoked their anger (missed out on chest loot, died repeatedly from a boss, had a bad dungeon run, bugged quest, etc..) and say something stupid in zone chat like "This @ game is %@#$ me off! Just like those @%$@!ing <insert religious faith, race, sexual orientation>"
Happens all the time. And nobody went fishing for those opinions.
