Like the title, after reading countless posts and such. Not all bad, some of them have great ideas but you never seem to get a Dev posting here?
We get the forum moderators posting real quick to real us all back in but you never see a Dev posting......do they even read their own official forums?

It is a good thing, I think, that the Devs do not post here. I hope that they are hard at work repairing/updating the game.

No, the dev's don't post here, for that matter I don't even think they care what you post here. I'm fairly confident you could let them know of a bug and 5 or 6 months from now you would still be waiting for them to even acknowledge there was a bug to begin with, let alone fix it.

Well, in your profile there is a counter for developer replies/interest, mine as well as many, many others still sits at 0 :( actually does anyone have 1 or more?

Some of the Psijic Order might I suppose, I mean they used to actually get talked to, maybe not listened to, but at least talked to.

not quite the same as having some kind of reactions in the forums tho, I really hope they do see these as a lot of people have had some fantastic ideas concerning the balancing and it would be a shame if they ignored us here where we are supposed to be able to discuss and bring up issues for exactly this purpose.

You'd be surprised what the devs are aware of and what they read up on. They don't post on things because as devs they speak on behalf of the company and typically they like to run official statements past marketing and all that. It's not a grand conspiracy to ignore everyone, it's just the way things are usually handled in larger game companies.

Yes but in larger companies like this, there are normally Community Reps also. These sort of act as a go-between and reassure us that things are happening and ect.

I'm sure the company takes note of forums. We cannot expect them to respond or even act on it though. We can just hope they are listening sometimes.

ESO evidently has a lot of unanticipated issues that they cannot address piecemeal. These include the strong negative response to VR difficulty and questing and the magika/stamina build thing.

These have probably come like a punch out of the blue and it will take a time to formulate a response. There may not be one. The difficulty may be as intended and their numbers might show the game is doing fine as it is.

What I would like to see is proper engagement in the next Road Map. For them to tell us what issues they see and some indication of how they will address them rather than all this gee-whizz, look at the cool stuff coming PR.

If they don't give a good impression of taking these issues seriously enough to reconsider basic aspects of the game then i'd be disappointed. Not surprised though.

I can attest that ZOS devs listen and are very responsive when you bring things up through in game support and bug reports. I bet they read forums too, but can only imagine how thick your skin would have to be and would most likely have to swear not to respond when angry.

Some Devs read the forums, they've even quoted posts, don't know how many, but definately some.

As for Devs posting, god no, the minute some half-wit thinks someone important is listening, they come out with their worst ideas. The ideas they know will get shot down instantly on the forums, but somehow they think the Devs will see thereal quality of these half-baked Ideas.

I've seen it happen, on other forums, no Devs posting would be a bad idea. Press releases from Devs on the other hand, good idea, when they tell us what's happening in the near future. (even then some people misinterpret Soon )

Yes, because forward camps and other bugs have just never ever been mentioned in a bug report or through ingame support. As a matter of fact, I recall reporting them back in November... but hey, we can all see those got fixed right away eh?

They read the forums. Not just this one but reddit, tamriel foundry you name it.

They are taking feedback constantly, they know where to look and they have your ideas.

IF your ideas are good and fit their "vision" for the game and how they want to do things then it typically gets implemented.

As far as I have seen they have a set goal they are working towards. Currently the results of the goal is unknown to the player base.

I have seen HINTS of Dev trends.

Nerfing Templar Resource Management in Beta. Now they are Nerfing NightBlade Resouce Management. DragonKnights' have had the 2nd worst Resource Management right there with Templars.

I can ONLY conclude they are "changing" the "Resource Management" system in the game to look closer to Current Templars.

WHY they are doing this is anybody's guess. I have always believed it was to balance Magicka and Stamina.

IF you think this is a STUPID way to balance that and that's what their doing..... does it really matter if they tell people or not. All that matters is the end results, and either it will work or it wont. So for them to explain is a waste of time.

In most companies developers cannot write as a developers on public forums and discuss anything not approved be PR representative.

But they 100% read this forum, I'm sure.

Aaaand Reddit deletes all posts deemed as negative towards the game so your only options for getting feedback through are here, Tamriel Foundry, or submitting tickets in-game. Either nothing is getting past the CMs here or management won't listen to players.

ZOS does read the forums, but they can not post because they will get hammer. Some of the questions takes time to give a good answer or figure out the root cause of the said problem.

That is why we have Jess and her team as a "go-between" -- they tells us what the devs what to say after they read the forums.

If I had a dollar for every time I read a comment like this on an MMO forum I would be richer than Carlos Slim.

To answer the question: yes they probably have someone assigned to read the forums and sort out the whinging whining QQ BS from the posts that raise legitimate issues. But no MMO developer will get into a back-and-forth with some random player on a forum.

I was actually surprised when the Blizzard devs started responding to people on Twitter. It can easily be a full time job, just answering people's QQ.

communication in this game is the worst i have seen. There is no presence from the devs and the forum moderators seem to have absolutely no clue about the game. Any other mmo (even much smaller conerns) at least have one community manager who engages people one to one. ZOS just seem so distant and impersonal

You assume to much, that is your opinion and everyone else that posts here opinion's matter or have some effect on development. They do not. This my good sir/lady is an echo chamber the mods will move threads and from time to time hand out bans and warnings but that is all that will ever happen here. ZOS makes changes at will to the game, hands out ninja nerfs without warning as they see fit. It is on the back end the number crunchers look at. Ninja nerf? they watch to see if there is a up tick in accounts closed or people not logging on. Same for zone changes, item nerfs its all about the back end that has some effect. To many people walk off a change will be made otherwise we are naught but birds in a cage. Yeah. I'm sure they all spend their fair share of time here. And now must be a paticularly painful time for them. I think they honestly had themselves convinced their game was going to be this huge smashing success. And now this...

Well. Assuming ZOS devs are reading, consider: When has silence on the part of a game company ever actually ended up working in gathering player loyalty?

They do read comments. They do listen. But they do it kinda ninja like. They don't say anything and then suddenly they'll make a change in the game and you'll realize it's something you suggested... Either that or great minds think alike. ;)

I rarely stand up for Zenimax, but you're talking crap !

The players outraged about no FPV and zenimax changed it. Then they complained about the starter levels and zenimax changed that (personally I think that was a stupid idea). Since then we've had Templar outrage and they nerfed Templars, more recently we had Sorcerer outrage and .... yep that got nerfed.
Yes the devs do read these posts, unfortunately they do also listen to the QQ and whining threads instead of listening to the masses of rationality !
