Dev. Replies? Do they even read the forums?

it would help if we had a comprehensive list stickied up top with known concerns/complaints from the community and any response a Dev has given about them, fore or against. SWG did this and it was far better for communication on both parties.

    Yep, like this:
    • Known concern/issue: X
    • Working to fix: Y/N
    • ETA for fix: X

If your concern isn't on the list, well then it's time to post like a madman.

I come from Eve Online. There, the developers communicate with the community on a daily basis. They post detailed blogs (with actual numbers, not vague statements) any time changes are occurring, or about what they are planning. The developers play the game and are visible. It gives you a sense that developers are actually listening and that you are part of making the game better.

So that is what I am used to. There is very little communication from ZoS when compared to Eve Online. It's a completely different game, but it goes to show that developers of an MMO can communicate with their community. There does not need to be this disconnect between developers and their community.

The devs must trust themselves in the first place. They can consider ideas from players, but as soon as they start following requests from players, the game will go south.

They also have in game logs and statistics and can surely see what is needed. However, nobody sane enough would change basic game mechanics after 2 months. Players need to familiarize themselves with everything available first.
Of course, there are always some indications about imbalances, but that doesn't mean they will change things right away.
I expect that they will reconsider game mechanics globally after 3-6 months and will issue a big balancing patch that will change many things dramatically.

Good thing they don't read the forums. They would think DKs and Sorcs were the weakest class in the game when in fact it could not be further from the truth.

Hopefully they are actually playing the game. Although it seems like none of the devs have ever played a Templar.

Light Armor and Staves are overpowered. DKs and Sorcs are fine. NBs need bug fixes. Templars need DPS buffs.

Or, to put it another way, Stamina abilities are underpowered.

Tamriel Foundry mods delete negative feed back also. Or even edit the posts.

We can't speak to how they run their community, but keep in mind that there is a distinct difference between constructive negative feedback and non-constructive negative feedback. Most community managers frown upon the latter, since it is generally toxic and not at all helpful to anyone.

That was neither an endorsement nor a condemnation of how they run their forums. Just a reply to the poster who said. " your only options for getting feedback through are here, Tamriel Foundry, or submitting tickets in-game." As if TF were an official channel.

Power level to CP160 in a week:
Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.
