VR Difficulty change?

Shadowfen in general has issues as VR3 and VR8 content.

Even the simple trash mob the Hoarers, hit like trucks with light attacks every 1s hitting for 283 (VR3) on 1200AC, while Dremora are spamming special attacks for 700-800 per hit.(VR3).

VR4 mobs, they spam spells that hit for 600-900, while bosses can one shoot you with 2600 damage spell, passing 1700 Spell resistance and 1500 AC. (I have screenshots that look pretty grim).

Our HP hard cap is roughly 3000 at these areas (VR4), but nor many have more than 2100.

On the contrary similar VR4-5 mobs at Eastmarch & The Rift are easier to kill.
And bosses usually are easier than trash!!!!!!!!

That is the reason, the moment we hit VR2, all the melee builds are bad, and light armour destroy staff is the only way forward.

Destro staff, plus SC & DK AoE abilities, can do big amount of AoE damage on those trash mobs.
They can totally obliterate the multi mobs spawns. Hence all those 900-1000 dps setups. (not per target but for all targets in the AoE area).

Hence trying to kill them with swords, when you get hit by 2-3 enemies for 1/5 of your HP each per hit, while they have 3000+ hp pool is worthless waste of effort.

And that is all the complains are set against Templars and melee builds.

Cyrodiil, surprisingly, is pretty secluded from this issue. In PvP, the same builds that worked in 1-50 just fine, are working there also.

eg Templar Tank, 7 HA, Shield. Who's only offensive spell is Javelin. Works as good as any class. Yes the DK has better tools but still, is doable. Anything less than a good prepared DK and the Templar above, can roll 3 enemies without knowing what hit them.

However in VR PvE, it gets rolled by 3 trash mobs.

After 3 respecs, I have managed to find a way to kill the "trash" before I die, while using Melee build with some Templar spells on top.

Not perfect, but can be done with weapons, and not staff nor light armour which I distaste.

What I use is Solar Barrage to get 60 power buff, heavy armour passive, 2H passives, Flawless Dawnbreaker IV, Balanced Warrior II, 2 purple glyphs VR5 to power damage, 1 to stamina regen. Sta-Ma food.

Brawler hits like a truck (damage shield 4tw), and Uppercut or Stampede hit like trains.

Again compared with Destro Staff are sub par, but is as good as it can become against trash with a melee char.

And the issue with Shield skill line is this. It cannot do much AoE damage, while the DW ability is too stamina expensive.

Brawler on the other hand, is cheap, provides Damage shield and is applying dot also that might crit.

As for me. I am finishing the main quest line tonight for Silver (V1-5). And off to Cyrodiil permanently.
I do not care for PvE that much, and tbh seeing the WoW generation hitting TESO already, I will pass.

    Rather have real fun.

Having a hell of a time trying to complete Keepers of the Shell: Save the Eggs in Shadowfen with the Dominion mobs hitting so hard and having so much HP, it really seems as though dificulty levels are fluctuating constantly.

Don't engage the mobs. Save a couple of eggs from an area furthest away from where the Dominion come and then run back to the stairs. Between you and the Argonian, you will have saved enough to complete without having to fight.
