lol. I play a sorcerer. Yes, I use bolt escape, I don't have the morph streak, which in my opinion was seriously broken. But I used it to escape mostly when I had a zerg coming at me. I don't mind dying to a good 1 on 1 fight.
So today's nerf came, tested it out when I logged in. Don't understand why all the crying (waaaahhhh, we got nerfed) It's still not that bad, one can still get good distance from ZERG attack!! ( I still get shut down a lot from good players that know what they are doing) But very happy it will cut down on that broken streak mechanic ( WHICH IS BROKEN ZENIMAX)

My opinion, this was an ok ability fix. Now, lets talk dragonknights and their super OP abilities.....roflmao

That s the point, you are still be able to escape one fight, but you can t escape forever like a ***. And that's sounds fair. The real whine is because now sorcs can't do dps and escape at same time, but they must choose.

The penalty is when you include the magicka regeneration nerf ... but factoring that in would assume too much of you, eh?

You have an ability that nerfs you when you use it? And they just made the ability worse?

Sounds like Siphoning Strikes to me. Outright 25% damage decrease. Gotta love it.

Every class has good moves in PVP. And everyone is going to complain about them. Sorcs have crystal fragments that have hit me with anywhere from 400-900 damage. Other skills of theirs have hit me with 1200-1700. NBs have good openers that can stun and also skills that do 800-1700 (see the similarities?) DKs can ram u to he ground and burn with talons over and over and u can be practically dead before you get up. They're tanky but don't hit as hard. Which is the way it should be. But standard of might (I think it is) that has hit me hard a few times. I really don't see too much of problem with the way things are. Even before nerfs. Some players are better than you. Deal with it. Some spam moves that suck. You could do the same. You aren't meant to win every battle. Sometimes you actually have to think/try/have luck.

What sorc skill hits you for 1200-1700

Did it perhaps go through any dev's head that before gimping sorcs in what is the largest nerf for ANY class yet, they should have released some buffs to encourage different forms of play?

Rift used to nerf without buffing, ask them how that played out with their player base (and they had less problems to deal with than you). You could have at least released the new version of Dark Deal OR fixed the bugs to Mages Fury OR fixed the bugs with BE breaking all of the time OR given us our better pet system Or fixed the manna regeneration nerf from BE OR stopped the block spam that is the true source of most of your player's QQs...

But NOOOO heaven forbid you do not listen to noob tears and not take drastic/uneducated actions to destroy classes without compensation. NO CDs was your promise, it's clear now that you lack the creativity (or work effort) to make that true.

Nerfs without buffs AND without fixes is killing the little your game has left!

    Can I have your stuff?

On an update: customer service got back to me very fast and said they are at least going to fix the regeneration bug soon. So I am nowhere near as mad as I was this morning. There is at least no denying ZOS is trying to work out a tricky balance for pvp.

And they were really nice about it despite my nerd rage (was all very disarming).

The real issue is who plays an MMO with 4 "base" class types and does not try them all? I have never been one to not try every path, I don't understand others who wont, or their seeming desire to see the classes they don't play as suffer.

I think they intend the best. I do think building their own engine from scratch has caused them more headache than helped.

Well , it was a broken OP skill , if anything , it still remains to be seen if the nerf was enough or not.

Zen could have changed it to only go in or out of combat and thus have a target , like the other skills , but they prefered this way.

I am paying a sub for this game, in it for the long haul as any serious fan of ES should be. Those who rage quit I think only seek "instant" gratification, and honestly, this game is better off without those types. Those of us prepared to stay until ZOS get a handle on what it means to run an MMO, will form the backbone of this games community. And this, believe it or not is what ESO needs more than anything else right now, a community feeling in game and off it. This game can be something special, if they are given the time, and get the backroom staff capable of delivering what CAN be, it will be a real time action MMO with [hopefully] all the good parts of other games, without the micro-management BS some, including myself despise.

Nope, it has nothing todo with breaking, actually its the counter part.
As Zenimax said already, tuning down certain class abilites to come close the others without changing the origin class concept is the way to go.
You cannot change core concepts on the fly because this could result into bigger problems and you might cannot go back from this point. Balancing is a long progress with trying out many things and the best way is tuning things down or up to see how it works out. The evaluation before final decisions regarding a change are made taking a long time.

Read the road ahead, you can agree or not ... It makes no difference for the future development plan!

BE is not a priority. Its just another Gimp Nerf to dumb down the characters and make them more boring. I don't even play a sorc, and I agree that it is stupid.
I hear spamming BE required immense mental effort.

Ya they screwed up pretty big.

The Sorcerer class ought to have gotten some sort of healing/survivability buff in compensation for this rather drastic, poorly thought out, and poorly implemented nerf. Really ZOS should have shown a bit of back bone and told the whiners to shut up.

I would have traded bolt escape for green dragons blood in a heartbeat. I hate running anyway.

NB does not suck, people just do not know how to play. The bow stealth build that can 100-0 someone out of stealth in about 4 abilities has been around for a while. The broken CC (cannot cc break) stacking ambush veiled combo has been around the whole time(might not be ambush or veiled. It is the ability that makes your target kneel that is stacked with another CC that is doing it.). NB being lower dps in pve has nothing to do with pvp. NBs caught out in the open are just as squishy as sorcs, they just did not have bolt ecape.

I do agree that in open sight engagement nb has been lacking, but it is not the super balance issue most of you believe it is. Go watch some videos...

Screwed sorc food lol, stop being soooo dramatic.

If only Sorcs had a handy skill that allows to heal, without stopping to do damage. Like something that heals for a good portion of damage done, in case of a critical?

Hey, I know! Sorcs should get "Arcane Blood" that would heal 33% of the missing HP and increase regeneration values! They should also get the Arcane Standard that deals overtime AoE damage, reduces damage taken, and increases damage dealt, while in the area of effect. They should also get Magicka Talons for a PbAoE immobilize\damage!

    This will fix Sorcs, right?

DUDE, thats such a great idea. Thanks buddy! While they are at it we can get broken CC abilities that stack out of stealth to make it to where people cannot use CC break. (what ever NB ability that makes your target kneel and the other cc ability they stack with it.)

    Balance Achieved.
