What is strange is that you keep saying it wasn't changed because people got their feelings hurt. Then you make post like this, that scream someone got their feelings hurt. It maybe part of the reason people are confused.

If somebody disagrees with something in a post, they could discreetly (and anonymously) hit "disagree" instead of having to put their protest into words, which will either come off as trolling or cause somebody to troll them.

OR
you can always come right out and say it, to let the poster know WHY you feel it's not constructive. For everything else (i.e. a post violating the code of conduct), there's the report function. Forum moderators also usually give a short explanation as to why the post was closed.

Sorry, but you are just trying to be right. The issue is that having a disagree button, would be ineffective, as it would be a troll tool, so why bother? And when you are trying to run a guild, and a set of crotch goblins, take issue with one or two members, your guild thread gets trampled on.
Happened in TSW, a bunch of us used to encourage our members to rate our recruit threads, along with our friends guilds, and watch our neighbours because of this.
It just discourages responsible behaviour. Feelings or not, it does set the wrong tone.

Now i am more the willing to admit that it might not be all that useful or really all that helpful, but the reason it isn't here is because it hurt peoples feelings and they got upset about trolls making frowny faces on my post!.
If there was a disagree button the hardcore fanboys would disagree almost every criticism about the game
I got trolled to many times with a "disagree" button -- it was not worth it and I am glad it is gone, TBH.
The trouble is that one might have 100's of "disagree" on one's profile page and makes it looks bad, all because of people just want to troll ya. Also, every disagree on the profile page takes points away, thus it takes longer to earn badges.
It's like the yes or no questions on a questionnaire. They ask the question and this is what you get...
Yes
No
If "No", explain.
People were clicking "No" but not explaining. They wanted an explanation. An explanation is needed when you disagree but not needed when you agree.
Indeed. A disagree button would be the lazy way out. If you disagree with a poster, then it is on you to demonstrate why in a concise and logical manner.I see the LoL's as a compliment.
Seriously though, if you disagree with something, that's what the quote option is for. I hate forums with a disagree or down vote option. People just use it as a high school popularity contest.
