While playing yesterday (most of which in Craglorn) the subject of the upcoming anomaly nerf on Monday came into conversation a number of times, quite a few times actually.

Now, while I can see the logic behind Zenimax's reason for this I don't think they have fully grasped the implications of what it will do. OK its intended to stop people rushing through VR1-VR12 and in some ways that's a good thing.
However, it's TOO LATE ! Many people ( a large portion in fact) have already done that and are VR12's. I know more than a handful who are already levelling alts to VR12.

All this is going to do is force another prolonged gap between those who are already there and those who are not yet. Its "too little, too late" again.
Zenimax, think back to when you nerfed the drop rate of rare motifs, again "too little, too late". Hundreds of people had already farmed the hell out of them and had made thousands(hundreds of thousands) in gold. You then nerf it and the majority of ESO's population got left behind and were angry about it.

If you go ahead and nerf Craglorn's anomalies you will have the same situation. A massive chunk of the population are already at VR12 and preparing for the next update, thousands are just going to be alienated and left further behind. The 'Carrot and Stick' approach only really works if sometimes you do get the carrot !

The best way to do this would be to drop/slow the xp rate for update 1.3 !
This would then still allow all those who have reached VR12 to enjoy the new content but allow everybody else (the greater proportion of your player base) to slowly catch up !

Nerfing the lower levels ability to progress is only going to fragment the community, not to mention leaving masses of players truly fracked-off. Just think before you act this time guys... leave existing Craglorn as it is, and balance out the levelling system starting with update 1.3. It will still take time but at least this was all of ESO's player base will eventually level out for end-game content.
Most the time in Craglorn at the moment there is a good atmosphere.... DON'T RUIN IT ! ! !

    :/

Don't you find bashing a crystal and overpowering a 4 man boss with 20 men at your side over and over and over boring?

I mean there's other things to do in craglorn to earn VP such as quests and dungeons yet people would rather stand on the spot and bash a crystal over and over?

I for one welcome any changes if it gets people doing something else rather than just farming anomalies in craglorn. This is meant to be an elder scrolls MMO, not a Korean grindfest.

Give MMO gamers as a whole a choice between a fun way to level and a boring smash-yourself-in-the-face way to level that is much much faster and the majority will choose the faster method. Unfortunately for ESO, the quest-to-VR12 method of leveling is just as or more boring than farming anomalies or dungeon bosses whilst being MUCH MUCH MUCH slower.

Why should zenimax cater for grinder's? I bet some at zenimax probably feel rather insulted to having spend thousands of man hours developing content for the zone only for the majority of the player base to play whack-a-mole at an anomaly and not touch anything else.

Not saying you should be forced to do every single quest or bit of content in the game to reach max level I'm actually against that sort of grind but however an endgame zone should still be about doing quests, doing dungeons, getting immersed in the content... not just about grinding to reach top level.

I'm saying that it is a known thing that most gamers will do the fastest leveling method even if it's boring...so yes, absolutely zenimax as a company SHOULD cater to the majority of their customers. To do anything otherwise is bad business.

at least for anomalys that is actually happening, if you are not vr8+ at prime time you will nearly never see any xp because of the lack of contribution you bring to the board. when 24+ man are participating...

This is only really an issue for the level-bots.

The VR1-10 zones do still have enough players in them to make it possible for those of us that are happy to level at their own rate to still do the content, and to be honest its not as much of a bind as some people are making out.

If people moan that there aren't enough VR12's yet to do the rest of the Craglorn content they've only got themselves to blame for cheesing the content - not everyone wants to do this.

The complaints are a bit confusing anyway, some posts says there aren't enough VR12s and others say there are too many.

WHY? Cause you couldn't get to the 2nd Alliance for VR5-VR10 without completing VR1-VR5 first Alliance. Why was CRAGLORN wide open for VR1? That was the most stupid thing ZOS could have done. (IMHO). I sat at a couple anomalies and laughed. Watching VR1's, VR2's, etc. just grinding away. Each taking the SLIM chance of getting the XP for the Crystal or Boss.

I 100% disagree with the minimum being VR9, but DO agree that you should have to finish all the VR zone's storylines. The reason I disagree with VR9 as a minimum is that I just hit VR7 and am about to start my VR10 zone's storyline chains. I will probably be VR8 or very close by the time I complete it altogether but why should I be locked out of Craglorn AFTER finishing the entirety of the zones' storyline chains all because I don't meet your purposed minimum VR9?

Your suggestion means that even if I complete all of the story I still would have to go "grind" out a level or a little more before I could move on and that's an unfair barrier to impose on players. BTW, this is coming from a player who has refused to take part in any of the exploit grind spots like (2) of the expert dungeons, Craglorn Delves for the first few days, etc. I have myself fully explored Craglorn just to see the sights and participated in 2 anoms just to see what it was about.

The bigger issue is the difficulty of Craglorn, more like lack there of. Even after ZoS said they reverted VR1-10 mob difficulty back to pre-1.1.2 VR12's can still die to a VR2 (2) pack and VR1's can go into Craglorn and solo some 7-pulls. It's completely backwards. If ZoS would just buff up the damage output of ALL Craglorn mobs by say 50% that would make even anom grinds harder for lower rank toons, thus also solving the problem of having a flood of "lowbies" farming VR12 in a weekend.

Shortened the quote, but I have to say that I kind of agree with you.
Well, there are different ways they can nerf Craglorn:

    - Nerf the loot from anomalies
    - Nerf the experience from anomalies and subsequently everything else (Burials, etc)

In my opinion, they SHOULD nerf the chest from anomalies. I was aware of this only recently and was only able to "farm" for a little while but this will turn the economy to crap (well, I suppose there have been many ways / bugs / exploits allowing a lot of people to get filthy rich already). After an hour of farming anomalies, you get an inventory full of blue/purple items. Don't get me wrong, this is awesome to level up your crafting skills but what will it do on the long run?

Now, and risking to get burned on a stick, I think they should NOT change the exp part of Craglorn (temple, burials, etc). It's too late to complain about people leveling from VR1 to VR12 in a few days. People were already VR10 when early access ended... so what? More VR12 people means more interaction in PvP in a short future. It's not like you're going to go on forever after being VR12. Being in a 12 man party in Craglorn (burials) has been one of the BEST features of this game for me. No instancing BS, no de-phasing, just people running together and grinding, having fun. Farming anomalies is a bit boring in my opinion but you can be sure that if they nerf that, the rest also will be nerfed.

When people get to V12, they will stop grinding like this and go on with the alternative storylines to get skyshards, skill points, and complete dungeons etc. Honestly, craglorn is a good break from that badly designed PvE where each mobs hits you for 2k. (kinda frustrating when you can't even solo 2 skeevers).

The damage is already done... just let it be.

They did some research and found that most people who did the anomaly grind to VR12 cancelled their accounts shortly after. They want to prolong the leveling experience so you have to pay for another month or two to get to VR12 (then cancel shortly after that).

I leveled my V12 Templar the normal way (quests) but after finding my Templar useless, I fast leveled my sorc and DK from V1 to V12 via Anomaly and now I can find groups with my sorc and even tanking vent instances with my sorc!

So you can now nerf them as I don't plan to level a NB :)

But really, it does seem too late, why shut the gate after the bull has already bolted?

The grinding excuse is so lame IMHO. Each zone in the 2nd and 3rd alliance only has a handful of progression quests to open the next level of alliance. You don't need to grind the whole map to progress, just Cadwell's journal. Progression is part of all MMO's. I really hope that they quest restrict end game content, they need to up the value of those rewards because they are a total and utter joke.

You are passing up so much in those zones like skyshards, and many quest that have skill point results. Everyone wants to press the easy button and wants to be end game with little effort. To me the game became challenging in veteran levels the first 50 levels weren't hard at all.

Yep passing up the chance to ruin any story you may want to experience with an alt. Destroying any faction pride because you are being forced to fight for the enemy against your chosen faction.
Any imersion is ruined because they keep making reference to you having no soul, which you already got back. Not to mention all the references to a certain mr Bal who has already been defeated
Oh and on top of all that you get the almost worthless, crap rewards

In my opinion leveling from V1 - V12 is pain . Most of people think the same about that experience. Purpose of that kind of leveling is to give some content and buy time. Obviously that logic doesnt work coz people are not satisfied with it. My suggestion instead of nerfing anomaly would be to add some meaningful content which people will love and than u can do whatever u like with anomalies. If the people want to go that way - they do that coz they dont like other ways of leveling. Regarding anomaly loot - u can cut it by half or even more nobody gives a *** about that coz anyways u can get gear in the game 2-3 % worse then best in slot in one week . Actually in other games to get best in slot u had to invest like 100-150 hours. Besides that what is purpose of best in slot when my dk makes two times more damage then my NB . If my NB has best in slot and my dk doesn't still difference will be like HUGE and those two can't ever compete/compare.
First u have to repair major issues ( end game content , leveling, class balancing, mag/stam balancing , gear ) and just than u have to repair side damage and till then try not to lose more players.

I agree with the post. After having heard about the upcoming nerf, I tried to speed level my main the last 2 days. Grouping to do the POIs from VR1-VR3 (almost 4) & I'm pooped. 1 day left & I don't think there's any way I can get through 2 VR levels tomorrow + enjoy the less strenuous XP available in Craglorn at VR6+.

This will leave me behind all the people who were able to beat the nerf clock. I haven't even made it to VR10 yet & then I saw that 2 more VR levels were added. By the time I get to VR12 who knows what the level cap will be. If I have to level via alternate faction quests the whole way to catch up, then I can see myself giving up on the whole affair.

Either do a better job of catching unintended mechanics & hotfixing them or leave them as is so the people who have less available time to play can enjoy the same mechanics as the full time players.

Or...ROLL BACK any broken mechanic which result in certain peramters.
