Under-informed speculation on an MMOs subs. Even better, there are 2 more platforms that the game has yet to be released on. This might be the funniest thread yet. You guys may as well blindfold yourselves and throw darts at a board.
after playing MMO's for 14 years, I know I have a decent grasp in numbers, and my guess of 40-50k of "Subcribers" (buying more game time after 30 days after purchase) is giving ESO more credit than due. only newbies to MMO's think 50k is small.
I dont care how long you have been playing MMOs for. All you have to work with is hearsay and speculation. I have my fair share of experience and I still wouldnt make an assumption without any facts to back it up. You won't agree with me regardless of any points I try to make, so only time will tell. Let me know if you require some kind of online forum resume to be valid. LoL.
You disrespect those with experience, but you've been warned: don't waste your money, and have fun doing so....
WoW started off with lots of sub numbers which took them by surprise and subs kept growing every month until it peaked in WotLK. 12+ mill or so? Maybe that game's initial success was an anomaly but who knows.
Pretty much.....massive sub drops + box price decreases within the first 3 months is NORMAL for bad MMOs, period. History is repeating itself once again in ESO.

Well gee, I'm sorry I discounted your extensive experience in online gaming. The fact remains that experience playing games does not translate into predicting how many people may be playing a given game with no data to back it up. And I quite enjoy playing ESO and don't feel it is a waste of money at all. If you feel that way I recommend you find another game that makes you happy. Oh, and by the way there were way more than 50k people that applied to beta test the game. Oh, and it may very well be that you aren't the only one with more than a decade's experience in the genre. Just some food for thought for ya

This game will not come out on console. I am more than willing to bet real money with you on that. You wouldn't even have to pay up... just admit you are wrong.

You can check by clicking my name. I have been playing since November. I have been involved in the game since way before that. I am on the NA server with the daggerfall covenant if you decide to stay. Feel free to hit me up. Bro
I wish the ones quitting would stop spreading their vile negativity all over the forums and just go. Call customer support, use in game feedback, or email your suggestions to them rather than coming here and discouraging others to hop on your rage quit band wagons.
Shouldn't have raced to 50 imo.
I play maybe 1-2 hours a day, a healthy moderate amount, and am level 31. Slow down and enjoy the game while they fix end game and quests.

hanging out in the "General" forums usually mean you aren't playing, or the servers are down. nice try fanboi.
@bean1You don't think ZeniMax wants to know why people are leaving? Do they have a retention survey for people who unsub (and does it have open boxes for actual responses or is it like WoW's unsub polls that had very specific complaints they were already planning to fix and nothing else)?

Of all the surveys I did fill out for Zenimax regarding ESO that was the only one that was never offered. They just cancel the sub and send a confirmation email, that's it.

They got a survey, with questions why you unsub etc.

Obviously the number of how many subs a game has doesn't determine whether I'll play a game or not. But I'd like to know how well the game I love is going, so I can brag about it or cry.
Dropping steadily I can assure you!

Since its clear the game is not doing so well based on the many offers to get it cheap i doubt we will see a sub number release for now.
When they do share it it might be to use it as an argument like "we only had this many subs, this is why we are moving to a F2P system".
Either way, a thread like this one won`t make them share it... best guess right now based on metric websites and average people quitting based on the guilds i am in would be about 300.000-400.000 subscriptions, some of them stuck like me + some guildies who bought more months at the start.
don't forget, people still on their first month of play time are technically not subs.
So you have been playing MMOs for a long time, that is not, in any sense, a reason for anyone to believe your subscriber estimates, when you have no evidence to back-up your claims.Under-informed speculation on an MMOs subs. Zenimax Media through Bethesda released Skyrim numbers on launch day and a week after launch and a few months after launch. I wonder what's different with eso?
Looking forward to wod tbh now lol
People slamming fists down, I quit. But still posting?
I bought a 3 month sub before the patch and now regret it. Can't get a refund so I play, get frustrated, and come back here to read others being frustrated too. Quitting a subscription only means they won't take more money out of you it doesn't mean you aren't currently paying to play.

No, you can't assure him. Unless you are the Head of Sales at zenimax.
WoW was a WRECK the first 6 months of release. hahah. WAY WAY WAY WAY worse then ESO's darkest day so far.
So was Starwars galaxies, and ultima online.
I think the only mmo's I've played that didn't have a disaster release day were the ones that were smaller and more niche so they didn't get plastered and overloaded on opening hour. Darkfall comes to mind but even it had problems, just not insane game breaking ones like wow did.
