When a player sets up a new subscription or changes their payment method for a subscription, our system will perform an authorization check that will appear as a charge of up to one dollar in the player's local currency (one pound in Great Britain, one euro in Europe, etc.) This is done to ensure the payment method is valid.
Before Wednesday evening, the pre-authorization amount was for the full cost of the subscription. As stated above, we've now lowered the pre-authorization charge to $1.
Usually this authorization hold lasts a short period of time before being removed. The duration of this hold can vary from bank to bank.

It's the way your bank shows stuff. One will go away - some banks take a few days. It's not ZOS.
ZOS sets how much for the pre auth, your bank sets how long it is held if the merchant doesn't claim it. Most places do this with pre auths. If you don't like it then you should get rid of your CC.
No. The bank sets how long the pre auth lasts. Mine is 2 weeks. Others is a couple days. Some take 30 days and others even longer.
