can't login to the game and no answer from customer support!!!!

    For those who have not got this yet, this is a list of questions I got from CS 3hrs ago.

    How far you can get before you experience an error?
    Are you receiving any error messages/codes?
    Are you experiencing any problems on your PC/laptop when not playing ESO?
    Did you experience any of these issues before this patch?
    Have you tried repairing and/or uninstalling/reinstalling the ESO game client before?
    What is the name and manufacturer of your Antivirus software and firewall software?
    Have you been able to play ESO at all since experiencing this error?
    Any other information that you think we may need to know....

    The bottom question I wrote: Read the ticket and replies? Read the forums?
    becuase if they did read the ticket and the replies I would not have gotten any of those questions.

    Please before my mind is taken over by Sheogorath. Read the tickets. Read the replies before sending automated emails.

    They bled mine dry. I canceled after waiting 4 days for a fix that would allow me to actually log in.

    After losing out on a 4 day holiday weekend I'm done with this clown show. My account has 76 days left. They better pull some makicka *** out of their asses to keep me at this point.

    If i remember correctly this happened quite often in Earth and beyond, they had really good support and somehow could find our character that was stuck in game and get it out of game so we could log back in, never took more than a hour. But I digress to good support

    Keep in mind, the last time something like this happened (and not even to this magnitude I think) they gave everyone extra game days to compensate. I'm sure something like that is in the pipeline.

    I was about to get angry because EU server wasn't working then I noticed my internet went out go figure

    I don't think my ISP liked my two complete ESO redownloads in two days haha

    yea mine went down off and on this afternoon (stupid centurylink) right when I started getting a reply after 24hrs of nothing ness, but no worries it went back to nothingness after one reply from me.

    To everyone having this LOGIN issue!

    I have successfully solved it. I am playing the game after 2 days! FINALLY!



    Step 1: Download the EU client (If you are Playing as North America else vice versa).
    Step 2: Login to the EU Client (If you are Playing as North America else vice versa).

    Step3: Create you character on the EU Client and play for 1 min or lesser.

    What this will do is , it will log you off from other server as one cannot be online on both the servers at the same time.

    Step4: Change your Server settings to North America again.
    Step5: Login.

    Success!!!!!!

    Why were you UNABLE to login ?
    Answer : Database gets locked up when you don't send it a log off command.

    Why did it not effect everyone?
    Answer: When a Player logs out by hitting ALT +F4 or has a crash or Leaves his computer at IDLE and does not log out manually clicking "LOG OFF" button, the Server IMplemention is so flawed that it does not detect that a person is actually not playing anymore but then closes the Session.
    Due to this , the database is a state of belief that YOU ARE STILL PLAYING!!
    Now when you try to Login, the Database says WTF you are already logged in????? WHat do you want more? And does not know what to do. So it just waits for you send a different command ...but never gets it..Cuz you are actually not logged it all! LOL

    Its called a DeadLock

    Why does my solution work?
    Answer: I log in to another server. Now the other Database script sees that I am playing on another server and then clears the Logged in check on my main server as there is rule that one cannot play on both servers at the SAME TIME.
    So, this simple fix works :)


    I am playing the game as we speak. And it can regenerated everytime!
    For ZENIMAX: All you gotta do is hit Alt + F4 on a running game and you are locked from logging in again.
    To fix it, Log in to your EU client (If you were playing NA earlier) and then Log out Cleanly! Means Wait for everything to properly be done.. else you will be locked again.

    For my fellow Players:
    As I mentioned above, if your default server is NA , then download EU client otherwise download the NA client.
    To do this
    Step 1. Click the Cogwheel Icon next to the "Patch Notes".
    Step 2: Select Europe in the List Box.
    Step 3: Hit Apply.
    Step 4: Wait for 25GB of data to be downloaded!
    Step6: Come back after sometime and do the Above mentioned steps in the same order.

    Please refrain from any fancy settings / Addons or anything that might screw you up again.

    If you get locked out again just log in to the other Server (EU or NA ) and then log out properly , meaning click the log off button and wait.


    Done!

    Until the server Session ID's caches are cleaned or the Database lockup issues are not solved, this solution will work everytime.
    If you want to wait for them to restart the server, it will only fix it the one time. The next time you accidently get logged off or the server BOOTS you (Like the Rollback bug that was doing it) you will be stuck again. So as a backup to keep playing even if they DON't fix this issue .. you can use my solution.

    ps: Earlier I posted about my solution to Zenimax and got this from them.....

    My suggesiton to fix my account after 2 or 3 stupid replies from them...

    1. Find my UserID in the Database
    2. Log me off from the server side.
    3. The server thinks I am online due to a database lockup on my account record.
    4. Other solution is to Restart the server to fix everyone's login issues and then figure out the bigger problem.
    5. Tell everyone to log off correctly by clicking the log off button and waiting for it so the server does not lock u down again.


    This is the response from them:

    "However unfortunately, we are unable to accept unsolicited ideas regarding The Elder Scrolls Online. This is for legal reasons. But we are very grateful for feedback and suggestions any players may have."

    I received a new email a few hours ago-

    We are very sorry your still having issues logging on. There are several cause for the errors your getting. However since you have tried the steps that fix most of those issues and its still not resolved, then It would have to be related to the last patch.

    We have found that there is a bit of technical issues with the last big patch and there is a "hot fix" happening very shortly as well as two to four hours of server down and programming to correct the issues happening late Sunday night going into Monday morning.

    @BlueAvenger - I have (along with a number of people who have posted here) successfully logged in and out of the other realm's server without being able to log back into my primary server, it was one of the first things I tried when the issue arose. I like your enthusiasm, but I think you might just be one of the ones that got lucky perhaps. Either way if that particular series of steps worked for you or if it was ZOS 1x1 cleanup, it is most certainly not a fix for everyone.

    I had the same problem of my NA on the EU it didn't work for me
    but also if the server is taking it as your still in that would explain why anytime I try logging in (and getting stuck before character screen) and wife sees I log in with last character played. Which means reset the account , which I asked about in my replies to CS on 5-22 grrrrrrrr. And they wont answer any question I ask.

    Update: No one will lose anything. Addons are no problem i just confirmed it.
    It was the database issue.
    But mind you DO not Download the PTS and expect the same results.
    You MUST download EU client if your main is NA and vice versa.


    On a side note: I finally got my Hungry Horse fed.. he is happy now :)
    On another note: I resubbed to account..cus i love this game even when ZENIMAX does not help me play this game.

    Weeeeeee! Made a lot of sales too very happy !!! :D

    Oh then the best way to fix it is send a Note to the Customer Support and tell them to "Log you off " from the server.

    Tell them that the "Server thinks you are Logged in".
    And they can very easily log you off. I think I my case it could either be my solution that worked ..or the Note I sent to Customer support.
    Either way I hope it fixes for you too.

    I've doen it many times my friend, it seems my emails and such get lost in a void even though they responded to them a few times. It seems the suggestions and asking them to do that goes right over their head.

    Glad your in game though.

    What this will do is Reset your License agreement which may cause the server to Unlock you login status.

    The other thing that could try is Changing you Password.
    This may also cause the server to log you off.

    If it does not work for you..then please do ask the CS to " Log you off from their end"
    Try if you can get a call from them to make it sooner. (I had no such luck with the phone)

    I tried what you suggested, although I had changed my password a couple days ago and stuff.

    But I was playing on the EU server for an hour or so, logged out, and tried to log in on the NA. Same thing. :(

    The server reboots soon so I might just wait to see what happens after that. Thanks for helping tho.

    One more thing... try making a new character on your other server which works..... That will cause the database to unlock too.
    I did a number of things ..so don't remember the order of things to solve it..
    Doesn't hurt to try i guess :)
