Yeah, I opened it directly using eso.exe and it still happened. Good advice, though! I appreciate the help

I'm getting this too, Auridon absolutely crushes my FPS. I went from 50fps to 10 out in the wilderness. Plus the latency is unreal; was in the VR first quest town in Auridon and my abilities took 1-2 seconds before they even hit.

Yeah, there seem to be related issues being reported such as actual freezes of 2-3 seconds in addition to some people getting the choppy/low framerate motion issue where every few seconds there is a 1/10th of second stutter. Not sure if it is the same underlying cause, but elsewhere I've seen comments linking this to the memory leak I mentioned.

I was able to play through it but now I've acquired the infinite loading screen in Deshaan, so I guess I will just wait until all of this gets sorted. Lots of sun here today, some great books waiting to be read, fun dogs to walk, and even a major motion picture release from my all time favorite comic book franchise. ESO is great, but it will wait.

I've been getting a lot of nasty lag since the update. On the screen tearing issue, EOS now has a proper fullscreen mode (which a lot of us wanted) and runs as default; unfortunately on my system the full screen mode suffers a lot from tearing. I've gone back to fullscreen windowed mode and the tearing disappears.

I just downloaded the 50MB patch released a little before 7PM eastern time. My impression is that it was meant to address the memory leak, but even if it has, the choppiness remains for me. Are any of you who reported the same issue seeing a difference after this update?

Edit: Hmm, well, it had been much subtler, but after using a wayshrine it has (for now) gone away? OK then!

I didn't get micropauses before the 50mb patch. My entire game was a choppy Power Point with the memory leak. Now that the memory leak is supposedly resolved, I'm getting these micro freezes. They're not related to high processor strain in a city or anything normal I can think of. What I get is little stutters just walking alone in the middle of the wilderness. It really does give me that sick feeling you mention. The fps counter does not change. Oddly I'm actually getting more fps post patch, but I have micro stutters which do not actually show up in the counter.

Checked again after last night's maintenance. I'm still getting extremely bad and persistent micro-stutters. I get them in both true fullscreen and fullscreen windowed. True fullscreen is accompanied by screen tearing so I typically switch back to the windowed. The stuttering is terrible and doesn't seem to go away. This is all while supposedly getting 60-80 fps. I don't know what the counter is seeing b/c that's not evident on my screen.

I have exactly the same problem. When I'm finally able to log in (first I get several times error 200 login errors) I have huge lag and stutters. I contacted customer support about it yesterday and got a general email back with suggestions to open some ports in my router and to flush DNS. It didn't help. Guess it is because of the patch these problems exist, because I never had this problems before...

I hate to bug the forum mods given everything else people are making so much noise about, but the micro-pauses continue. They had become less common and less severe, so that I kind of got use to them popping up only every so often. But whatever is causing the present lag/fps drop/world freeze/invisible enemies issue is also making the micro-stuttering worse.

To recap, they started (for many of us) after patch 1.1.2, the one associated with the large memory leak. In fact they were associated with some of the current problems...

I've heard there may be a worsening of the memory leak with the 1.2.3 update, so the continuity wouldn't be surprising.

I had found ways to make the current graphics/animation issues manageable in Cyrodiil, but after the 1.2.5 patch, I've noticed that even when fps is still at playable levels, the game has:

-more big world freezes (i.e. everything stops but me for up to 15 or 20 seconds, can't use weapons or abilities, then the client crashes)
-small world freezes (I can't move but everyone else can, lasts several seconds, client doesn't crash)
- frequent, brief, sporadic combat maneuver freezes (abilities on weapon bar don't activate when a key is clicked, double tapping directional keys doesn't give a roll dodge, Q doesn't activate a potion, etc); not fun when trying to avoid attacks or break crowd control.

Not sure if this info helps, but there it is.
