After trying around some, it seems that while the normal speed hoof sound is still controlled by the footstep volume slider, the sprint speed hoof sound is controlled by the effects volume slider now.

Of course lowering the effects volume enough to return the sprint hoof volume back to pre-patch values, would make weapon and battle sounds very hard to hear too.

This has to be a mistake, really.

@aliendiplomat yes it is. I give lot of friendship to the mobs in ESO. Behold my flaming staff of friendship, and my clannfear of love. :)

PAtch's still downloading, I kinda hope they do not solve the brohoof sounds before I get to hear them :)

Today, still wanted by the developers she survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a bot problem, if no one else can bite you, and if you can find her....maybe you can hire The SQUISHY."

Good question @SecuFox, to be honest I wouldn't know, but would easily explain the difference, because unchanged install values for sound effects is 70% volume and footsteps 50% volume. When I set sound effects to 50% now it's about the same volume as it was before.

Anyhow, the changed volume is very annoying and way too loud. Also I noticed on my system that the steps aren't in a consistent pattern. When I sprint my horse I will get a series of rapid footsteps after which it will just skip a few steps only to continue rapidly again, followed by another short silence.

Is it me or does the sound of my horses hooves hitting the ground sound much much louder then normal?

I used to be able to play this game through my speakers prior to v1.1.2, but not anymore! It's much better when I just have everything going through my headset now as the bass is just too much when the horse is dashing on the ground. I don't mind it much during the daytime when everyone is up-and-about in the house, but when it's morning/evening/past-midnight, I just can't bear the amount of bass it gives off. It's enough to sound off alarm in the neighborhood, in all honesty.

ZeniMax needs to reduce the 'bass' the horse's hooves give off. It doesn't need to be as low as it was before the patch, but a nice medium to it would be much appreciated (I personally like the sound of the hooves now against cobble, for instance, as I think that's a perfect amount of bass).

It's when you get onto dirt and grass that the sound of the horse's hooves gets far too loud.

Edit: Also, I don't want to turn down Footsteps for this even if the horse's dash volume is managed through there. The difference between the normal gallop and dashing on horseback is just far too much of an offset compared to all other game audio, so it is an issue ZeniMax should look to fix.

I hope the next hotfix will do something about this, playing in Cyrodill is very dependent of moving by horse and this new bass loud noise is unberable!
