Issue with hot pink and black instead of graphic textures after 1.1.2

Since the 1.1.2 patch after playing the game for ten minutes or so (sometimes longer) things I start encountering have no textures or colors except pink with black lines. It starts out with nodes and interactables, then bleeds into NPCs, then starts affecting player characters, and finally starts to affect environment. Here is an example of when its really bad.10309652_10101487782409013_3615347708229118332_n.jpg

Also, graphics for my map in details are not showing most of the time
1012879_10101487787478853_6165720286813952906_n.jpg

This happens with graphics turned down as well. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE THIS PATCH!

Logging out of my character to the character select screen while this is occurring and reselecting my character does not fix the issue. I have to quit the game and restart. Then everything is back to normal. Sometimes on the character select screen my character is also in pink.

Many times the pink-ness gets worse when i change zones or travel to a wayshrine.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Same thing happened to me. I turned in a bug report on it in game. Played for hours and hours prior to patch and never had this happen before.

Try going to fullscreen(windowed) and see if you still get it, there was a change to the full screen modes, some have mentioned issues with it.

I am aware that this is not top of the line, but up until now I've been fine, and I can run other games just fine that require more muscle, as you'd say.

I also only have 4gb of ram and am running 32 bit windows 7. I'm trying to upgrade that today to see if that fixes it but I DIDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THE PATCH! GR.

Also I have the most updated driver. That isn't the issue.

Actually it could be the updated driver causing the issue. I have seen this in SWTOR one time with an ATI driver. Everyone had the new driver and it caused graphics issues, as soon as we all reverted back to the older driver, the issue fixed itself.

Did you try the fullscreen (windowed) mode I mentioned?

    Try this:

    Go to directory

    \My Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\liveeu\UserSettings.txt

    and change the following lines:

    SET RequestedNumJobThreads "0"
    SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads "0"

    The default here was "-1".

This fixed for me the following:
    - Login issues on certain characters
    - Purple textures

I had to do this to fix an issue with my PC crashing and this didn't help. I will try this again. Also, I may not be able to try it immediately because now I can't login and its saying it can't reach the server.

Yes please let me know if that fixes it for you. I have a feeling it is due to some corrupted files and coupled with the known memory leak issue, but have no clue how to fix this.

Welcome to my world. I've had exactly that problem since day 1. Prior to the latest patch I found the following helped..
    1) delete shadercache.cooked.
    2) Windows XP schedule a partition check and auto fix then reboot and let it run.
    3) back into OS and shut down all but the most essential programs running in background.
4)Turn off Anti-virus. Put internet security (Norton in my case) into silent mode.
    5) DO NOT RUN ANYTHING BUT THE LAUNCHER
    6) Run the launcher and do a check for updates and full repair.
    7) (Optionally fire up a character in the game and logout out close launcher immediately)
    8) run the Launcher and fire up a character. I was able to play normally for a few minutes to a few hours. Depends on time of day (in wee hours of morning can run for hours). Depends where you are - busy time in towns problem happens again almost immediately.
    9) The first time you see any pink textures ANYWHERE on the screen log out, reboot PC and login to windows and follow from step 3 above. Step 2 after a crash. (After a really bad crash my 2 drive mirrored "RAID" array loses sync and several hours of very slow PC usage follow while the remirror runs.)

I have to do this stuff multiple times every day just to get some gameplay. I have messed with driver versions, virtual memory settings, Catalyst Control Centre settings etc etc etc. I am sick of it.

NOW AFTER THE PATCH I CAN'T EVEN PLAY THE GAME AT ALL. If it is kind enough to load I go straight into a screen full of that pinky blackness and the thing hangs or crashes.

I give up. Sadly, I really do give up. The patch notes hinted at some fixes which I hoped would improve my game experience. Now post patch I can't play at all. Bitterly disappointed. No useful help from game support. Game supposed to work with XP just doesn't. Can't upgrade to Windows 7 or even 8 just yet (shouldn't need to). Product doesn't do what it says on the packet. Subscription cancelled. Back to the many many games on my system that do work. Witcher I enhanced version here I come for another error free romp through :)

    Good hunting.

Sorry man. I can't even imagine trying to get it to work on XP. I suspect that they just checked minimum requirements for XP and optimized for 7/8. It also sounded like you had major RAM issues. I also have RAM issues (I have 4gb) and had the frequent crashing/ PC freezing issues and had to go about changing the security, the usersettings.txt file, giving game highest priority etc. Those all point to RAM issues. I suspect that the memory issue is tied to the video issue because my pink blobs get worse with time (memory leak). Anyway, sorry that happened, and have fun with your other games.

are you guys sure this is not related to the memory leak? When My physical memory got to high as a result of the memory leak around an hour of playing my graphics looked similar to what you are describing. Restarting the client which resets the memory usage fixes the problem till an hour or so later again. I assumed that this was due to the memory leak and the graphics cards inabillity to render as a result.

I could be off but the two seem to be affiliated.

And it is not the driver cause it happened then I updated my driver and it happened again.

I am curious if any NVIDIA cards are having this issue or is it only related to ATI cards.

Nvidia here, I had it until I changed the fullscreen mode then didnt have it again, however I didnt leave the city so much afterwards so this could be a false report.

    Take it as you will.

I think the two are definitely related. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO QUIT THE GAME AND RESTART TO CONSTANTLY JUST FOR THIS TO BE PLAYABLE! The problem is also that the pink textures should just not be there. If the video card runs out of memory to render it should not revert to the pink - why does this happen?

So this is an additional problem to the memory leak, memory leak makes it worse (or at least this is my theory). It should just crash if it does not have enough memory, not render pink. When this problem gets bad enough I DO CRASH when memory completely runs out.

That was what my next thought was..perhaps the higer demands of their new full scren is causing the temp to range higher and corrupting the card somehow. I hav enot tried it outside their new full screen but from what I am hearing its similar to what full screen was before and solved this issue for some.

My temp hit a max of 75, still within the cards operating temps, not so sure the higher temp is causing it, the temp shoots up straight away so the time taken (up to an hour reported) for the textures to arrive it seems it may be not.

The fullscreen windowed is exactly what fullscreen was before, now im not having any temp issues or texture issues but havent "played" enough since the change.

It's easy to point to hardware or driver issues when people have problems with video. In this case, it seems pretty clear that a problem that occurred post patch is caused by the patch. I had a minor instance of the PINK, then game crashed. So telling people to 'check your PC' is not good advice. If you are having the issue only since the patch, it's a safe bet it's related to the patch. I've had a number of new issues ONLY since the patch. Same thing happened after the last major patch. I see only two viable options: report the issue and hope for a quick fix, or quit playing. I'm not ready to quit yet.

This also has happened to me since the 1.12 patch. I also have 5800s. My system is Win 7 64 bit with 16GB Ram.

I suspect this has to do with the memory leak reported by other players. My system is stable until the game hits 3.7GBish Working Set as reported by Resource Monitor (about 35 min with threading on and about an hour 20 with threading off -- at least that's what I assume I'm controlling with the RequestedNumJob/WorkerThreads options). Once it hits that point I get the purple textures.

At least my system is not crashing out like some users report. Though I can play the game for longer with the threads options set to "0" it is, as expected, much less responsive (laggy) in intense situations.

On the new "Full Screen" mode, I can use it fine though it does cause a great deal more GPU load/temp. And yes, "Windowed Full Screen" behaves just like the pre-1.12 "Full Screen" did, including the lower GPU load.

@Byallogee, @Sihnfahl, @Kachemak and others that are currently using the latest ATI/AMD (14.4) drivers and experiencing this issue, could you try with the 13.12 drivers here for 32bit or here for 64bit to see if that solves anything? I know that one is from december last year, but it's the version I'm using currently (because various sources have reported these to be faster for many cards and applications, then some of the newer ones) and I haven't seen any texturing issues occur with that version on my system.

Perhaps related? I don't know. But a lot of my textures are appearing like this. Mostly stone floors, like in the blacksmiths', or these bridges. I'm guessing it's not supposed to look like that? It's pretty hideous.259pybctis9r.png

I have an issue with my video card and other hardware on my PC that means I can only use the most current driver or I cannot display anything on my monitor. Seems odd, I know, but I can't try this.
