Right there with you, my character couldn't get any worse at this point:

I ain't changing nothing, I'll play how I want. I've gotten pretty not bad. I'm not no super dungeon raid leader, but I do okay.

This game is 2 months old. I'm certain there is unimaginable *** going on behind the scenes and I think devs have done damn good. I'm sure they have the same choices there are in I.T. Cheap, fast, good. You can only pick two.

I worked 18 years in I.T. In banking, k12 education, and general contracting. Always the same.

FIX THIS NOW, and make it cheap. that "fix" is never good, and usually has to be done enough times to eventually cost what it would have to been done to spend the money upfront for the right fix.

    ....tangent, vaguely related.

the people doing these fixes are people. they work, they go home. They may have a floor(s) filled with b1 visa techs/progs, but sometimes those guys get a little punchy after 36 hours in a cube farm, and while they might be cheap to employ, and work like the devil, sometimes more often than not, things get f'd up here and there.

I think a lot of these problems are due to a rush to end game, top rank content.

How much stuff was missed rushing to vr62.5 mega alpha King Vitamin?

I've almost passed my player level with crafting. I'm not in a hurry. things will get fixed, work out, and the earth, she'll keep on spinning.

    yeah yeah. *casuals*

  • Hedonist_Jester
The nightblade "fixes" seem to be overshadowed by a like number of breaks for me. Before the patch, I could feed down to hunger 3, and at least get 14 percent cheaper vamp. Now my undeath passive persists, but I can't get any cost reductions at all. Before, I could log out as a temp fix. Now I'm gimped.

I no longer freeze up after a rapid strikes, but it takes me 40 percent longer to kill anyway because of buffed mobs. Before I could open my map to unlock my abilities as a temp fix... now I'm gimped.

I can now see the character sheet update for my weapon/spell critical values, but the actual critical percentage is far lower than it was (sample 1200+ attacks). Before I could ignore the character sheet and simply know my critical percentage. Now I'm gimped.

When something is fixed, but it breaks something else, it shows an extreme deficiency in the QA and testing procedures. The nightblade class needs some serious attention, and it needs it immediately. Can you get away with letting them remain broken until a future update instead of hotfixing? You probably could've if you hadn't introduced a plethora of new bugs with the last rollout. Now there's no way. You'll drown CS in canceled subs unless you act quickly - this I know and I will not go into my qualifications to make such a prediction.

By the by, my main since early access is a sorc... and I weep for the state of nightblades.

ZOS. I can see you are trying hard - I appreciate it.

What it seems you might be missing is that you have two types of players:

Haters. "OMG ZOS lied about Craglorn." These are the most vocal. They'll complain about every single thing. Literally, they would complain if you changed the game's icon. They'll complain that you don't have player housing, even though you never promised it. They'll complain that you don't ship them handmade cupcakes. They make the most noise, but really nothing more than noise. You will never make them happy.

Fans. We reported the NB (and other) problems and moved on. We kept quiet and waited for a fix. We pinned our hopes on this patch - and sadly our hopes were shattered. It seems a lot more of us have now become vocal.

I have defended you vehemently on Reddit. I have pointed out how the haters were wrong. I have told people to be patient. I have said you mean well. I don't have any ground to stand on now; nor do I have the energy - I've simply been let down. What I have said has turned out to be a lie. The vibe I'm getting there now is sour and I simply can't deny what's being said.

For people in guilds (such as myself) we can "make do." I know as a nightblade I will get a party - my guildies are just that awesome. PUGs are not awesome, at all. I seriously wonder what the "guildless" nightblades are going to do - because until 1.2.X drops they are going to get kicked from every single party, I guarantee it. Not only have they been nerfed, but the mobs have been buffed. Nightblades have been double-nerfed. You should have really left that nerf out of the patch until all the abilities were fixed - it was such a bad decision - it really feels like you are laughing at us, turning and squeezing the bullet in our wound.

If you did a patch with absolutely no class fixes besides nightblades you would be making a big statement - a very healthy statement.

Ignore all the "cool stuff" you explained in recent interviews (player housing, additional skill lines, the crime system, etc.), ignore the players who demand that - they will always be vocal and will always be unhappy. There is a very large outcry at the moment to fix the nightblade - a very large amount of voices that have been silent up until now. This next week will define the life of the game.

    Fix nightblades, yesterday. Fix templars.

Fix the crashes the day after yesterday.

Then we can talk about the fluff that the more vocal kids are crying about.

Do not even mention any "cool features" to the press until you have sorted out the fans.

Seriously, guys, /u/wopperjoe is upset and losing hope. That's really worrying - this guy has been extremely vocal in defending you.

Fix the bugs, do nothing else and say that you are doing nothing else. Saying you are working round the clock on features like the crime system makes your fans angry. It makes no difference to the haters because they will never be happy. Figure out who you need to listen to.

And seriously, find PTS players who actually test the game instead of streaming it so that they can get subscribers. This stuff should have been picked up in PTS, but it wasn't because the PTS player's fans demanded DKfaceroll. PTS players have a responsibility to the rest of us - PTS is not a freaken theme park or privilege, it's a responsibility.

Give me grounds to stand on, again, when I am defending you.

LOL! Are u kidding me ZOS? This has to be a joke. Just a few Fixes in the NEXT CONTENT PATCH??? What about this bugged abilitys?

Strife <Funnel Health> – On occasion can heal more than the suggested 2 ally players and sometimes it doesn’t apply to anyone including the player.

Strife <Funnel Health> – Doesn’t appear to be healing allies for the actual amount it should be, inconsistent heal effects.

Strife <Funnel Health> and <Swallow Soul> – Due to the ranged nature of this spell the projectile often takes several seconds to land on the intended target (even if in melee range).

Strife <Funnel Health> and <Swallow Soul> – Often once cast if the player was to turn away from the enemy target this ability will not do any damage to the intended enemy. (Nearly like it should be a channel from previous games)

Strife <Funnel Health> and <Swallow Soul> – Takes a snapshot of the initial damage caused rather than cause variable damage throughout the debuff duration. (Can anyone confirm if this is intended or a bug?)

Cripple <Debilitate> and <Crippling Grasp> – The dot effect of this ability does not work on mobs that are immune to snare effects.

Cripple <Debilitate> and <Crippling Grasp> – Does not apply the snare effect.
Siphoning Strikes <Leeching Strike> – Only gives an extra 2.4% health instead of the expected 4%.

Siphoning Strikes <Siphoning Attacks> – Tool tip incorrectly lists that it also returns 4% health, when it gives no health and should not give health.

Drain Power <Sap Essence> – The healing attribute of this morph is only increased by a maximum of 20% currently which is equal to one mob.

Drain Power <Sap Essence> – Is unable to perform a critical strike for both the damage and healing component of this ability.

Drain Power <Sap Essence> – Will not cast the heal effect unless the enemy is being damaged.

Magicka Flood <Passive> – Gives 8% max magicka at level 2 per siphoning ability that is slotted. This passive doesn’t detect Strife or Soul Shred

This Bugs should be hotfixxed right after the Release!
Maybe start buffing useless spells into a useful state!

Class balance and fixes should have come out way way way before any content updates. Period. I am not going to sit here and tell you how to run your company, but honest to gods, this is nuts. These issues existed since beta (I know, because I used to complain about them back then) and still have yet to be addressed and we have to wait 6 more months for a basic, archetypal class to function as it should?

Nobody here is asking for special privileges over other classes. We are rightfully asking you to fix this broken mess of a class skill line so that we come somewhere close to the viability of the other classes. Especially in VR content, which is basically the only content that matters.

I am in the medical field. When someone comes into the ER with a badly fractured leg screaming in pain, you don't tell them that they have to wait 90 days before you go and get a cast out of the supply closet for them to function and then not offer them any pain medication (while the other patients are treated first with a scraped knee). Really poor triage skills you guys have here.

We NB's have been sitting here in the proverbial waiting room for all this time, with badly broken legs, screaming in pain with this class, and we get a content update before you fix us?

"Sorry your legs are broken bro, here's a magazine to read! You don't get to vacation in that place you see pictured because your legs are broken, but brb while we buff the other classes! Be back in 6 months with your crutches!"

I've already cancelled my account. When the Nightblade has been fully buffed, repaired and works properly and is on the same power level as the other classes, I'll be back. I'm not making a vampire female altmer sorcerer in heavy armor using a destro staff like every single other neckbeard on this game.

My NBs are only in their teens so this Vet stuff is way above my head.

We are incredibly squishy; there is no margin for error. If I do not carryout a fight perfectly or a couple of extra mobs spawn on top of you during a fight or something else unexpected happens like skills randomly not firing(cough...), I will die. One thing NBs should be good at running away when they know they are above their head; it doesn't happen because ordinary mobs home in and rush at you for incredibly long distances, double quick and nothing you do can prevent this reliably.

The other problem is more general and effects everyone not just NBs. ZoS has refused things that would allay some problems - eg cheap respecs until the skill trees are stable -temporarily.

I am happy to see the fixes that will be happening in the future, just wish they were sooner. As of today, after the patch that was released my nightblade still sucks. Sure my crit rating increased some, but now with the big boost to the vet zones npc's, I feel like I am back to square one again. Was really excited and then bam I was dead in one or two hits over and over again. Think my NB is going to just sit and craft or try to loot motifs while I grind out a DK or sorc now.

Zenimax is just ridiculous. It isn't just the nightblades either. Its the entirety of their ignorance, lack of foresight, the constant avoidable mistakes, the never learning from their mistakes, the lack of communication, their messed up priorities, the incompetence of their fixes, lack of effort in dealing with bots, bugs that last for months, endless bad ideas/designs. Its like they want the game to fail at this point.

They lowered everyone's stats across the board, made enemies harder.

Your beliefs are irrelevant. They are bugged, they've even acknowledged they're bugged. They said they were fixing them with this patch, and what did they do? they broke more skills and barely fixed anything.

Now they tell us we have to wait until 1.2.x for a fix. Just to put things in perspective since you're struggling with the subject, this is 1.1.2 patch, the next patch will be 1.1.x where as x = 3-9

Can you figure out what that means? I'll give you a hint, it has everything to do with the current responses in this thread and why people are upset. So you can take your attitude else where. I think you are missing the point here, see this game has been in development for quite some time and went through an ALPHA and BETA period where the developers allowed players like yourself to play the game so they could gather data on what was working and what was not working. The issues with Nightblades have been known since BETA and has been reported since BETA. Not since the official release date of April 4th, but since BETA. As someone who actually does code yes you are right it does take time to redo code, however ZOS has taken the time and resources that could have been used to fix a portion of the issues with the class and have instead released nerfs for a class that was broken since BETA. In my opinion it would seem more productive to actually address the issues that have been known since BETA, provide the appropriate fixes, collect data and tweak the class as needed to bring it in balance with the other classes.

I recall roughly a month ago there was a huge outcry by players due to Vampires being overpowered in PvP, ZOS was extremely quick to address the issue, it did not take them 6 weeks to implement a hotfix to resolve the issue. The NB community is simply asking for the same consideration since we were told a majority of the issues ( list can be found here: http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/compilation-of-bugged-nightblade-abilities/ ) would be addressed with 1.1.

Can you make due as a Nightblade, certainly you can I have leveled up to Veteran Rank 11 as a NB at this point. Can we thrive in a 1v1 situation in PvP, we certainly can, but in high population campaigns such as Auriel's Bow and Wabbajack 1v1 situations quickly become 1v2, 1v3 and my only real option is to stealth and try to reset the fight, but as the original post states Shadow Cloak is broken. Can a NB solo most Veteran Rank dungeon we certainly can by exploiting the Shadow Cloak mechanic. Regardless of all these facts the class is still broken.

Finally for anyone that made a statement that they didn't feel NB were broken I would like to make a suggestion. Go to ESOUI download and use an Addon that reports damage or combat logs test the abilities with and without specific abilites, passives and morphs and then report back.
