I'm a male and play females, girl characters have so much more customization.. make-up, hair, better clothes etc. I play a female in every game that allows you to create a character; Skyrim is the only exception, as I heavily modified the male appearance until I was satisfied with my husbando. Abs and all that.

My boyfriend plays males, he's highly against guys playing females as it's 'deceiving' -- makes me laugh, we get into a debate daily about it.

I play both. I tend to RP more when i play my guy toons, i tend to watch more when i play my girl toons. simple fact of life. Im a guy too btw. too old to worry about psychological reasons why. Every guy in the world already knows why every other guy likes to watch something cute. dur.

But when it comes to getting into the characters, yeah, i prefer male toons. but thats pretty much just what happens. i get on my guy toons, and i end up getting involved in the story from a more personal perspective.

Male and play males. Not much of an RP'er.

The days of so many males playing female toons are slowly slipping by. Probably because there are more female players these days.

Either playing both muddies the water, That is mostly male playing both. Very few female players make male toons. That has been the case for many years, the stats are out there.

In game it's hard to say, but if female is naked, that is probably played by male. It could be clearly seen especially in the prison on the first day of beta or premiere, when there was a lot of new players wanting to watch their new dollies.

As a female I always play both, but indeed I love more my males

I've never been the one to roll a female character, like really never. I just prefer to be who I am, to make a character everything that resembles me. Though it's true I never really liked the alts idea, and in ESO I doubt I'll ever make an alt.

Female playing female, tried the 'looking at a butt theory' by playing a male character in WoW once, but that did not really stick. Besides, you can give your females some really nice booty in ESO which I (even as a straight lass) do not mind looking at in the slightest! Wiggle wiggle.

The concepts of "Avatars" makes no sense. Why are you trying to emulate yourself in a game in the first place? This isnt' VR.

I'm female and always play as female - would not be able to put myself in their shoes otherwise. Even my dwarves in LOTRO are female (apart from Hodorf - he is a lad - name wouldn't work for a female dwarf)

I'm male and I play males. Any other option is not gonna happen. Personally I feel sad, in an ironic way, about the males who play females. Good excuse "If I play a game I want to watch on female's pixelated backside". I don't know, when I play a game I watch the game world. I watch where I go, I watch what I do, what I fight. I don't watch any backsides at all, ever. But I guess some do, the ones with sore wrists...

Its not "just" the backside. Its the whole package. Why you want "to control another man's pen is" is lacking to my logic nonetheless.

I'm with you on that, the idea of playing myself in a game is ridiculous. I find people trying to play themselves or someone they know in real life way more freaky than guys playing females.

The only time I play male characters, is on alts, and I use them as slaves to carry my spare inventory for my main female characters. Exactly the way it should be.

I get that. Its called imagination. Some people have it, some just dont.
Eventhough you and I play the same game I can assure you that our experiences are completely different, like you playing Soccer and me playing Hockey.

Again thats not a bad thing. Its just what it is.
